McCain's New Ad and McCain's hypocrisy

Sat Jul 26, 2008 at 08:16:59 PM PDT

McCain is using Obama's canceled trip to a U.S. militay base in Germany as a reason to claim that Obama is anti-troops, even though Obama's trip was canceled by the Pentagon, not by Obama. Now with McCain going on and on in a political attack ad about what a horrible and un-patiotic thing it was for Obama not to visit those troops, come to find out, McCain knows better. How does he know? Follow me after the jump.

Barack Obama canceled a pre-planned visit to the troops in Germany yesterday after being told by the Pentagon that the trip would violate a Pentagon policy prohibiting campaign stops on military installations. No problem there.

However, the McCain campaign is now blasting Obama:

The McCain camp has nonetheless been using Obama's canceled trip to insinuate that he's anti-troops. "Barack Obama is wrong," McCain spokesperson Brian Rogers said in a statement yesterday. "It is never 'inappropriate' to visit our men and women in the military."
It turns out the same thing happened to John McCain himself back in April of this year.

Note: But of course when it happens to him, he brags that it "was a good thing" that HE didn't visit the troops, "because he always follows the rules."

The problem here is that the McCain campaign was denied a visit to a military base under the same policy back in April. Of course, there was no outcry or false outrage from Brian Rogers at that time.

    From CNN:

With Department of Defense rules prohibiting political campaigning on military bases, it was determined that in some cases McCain could visit the installations as a senator but could not engage in any political activity or have news media present.
McCain campaign officials said Thursday they intentionally did not campaign on military property.

"We follow the rules," said senior McCain adviser Steve Schmidt.
I have to ask, just how much lies, hypocrisy, and double-talk is this man willing to resort to in his quest for the presidency?

It was John McCain that went to Iraq and all the other Countries that Obama Toured last week...

It was John McCain that Challenged Obama to Tour Iraq an such, during or nearing the END of his Long Battle with Hillary Clinton.

It was Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh Screaming Obama was Afraid to go to Iraq & Afghanistan.

Note: Karl "The Big Cranium" Rove said that Obama's Tour was Successful and he's trying to Help Mccain, Win the White House...

Some of You Low Lifes, can't stand it...Neither can John McCain, Imagine how McCain and His Campaign Staff as well as his Few Fans Feel ?

It was also John McCain Begging to Tag alongside Obama, when he said he had planned all along to go to the MiddleEast and see how the land lays.

Note: When Obama was en route to the Middle East Region, it was john McCain, Dastardly and Bastardly Giving the Dates of Obama's Arrival to the Region, when in fact, that was a Security Risk !!!

Did You See Obama Stoop as Low, as to Broadcast McCain and that Troll of a Man, Joe Lieberman's Tour Dates...Of Course not, Just Think, an Over Zealous Nut in Afghanistan Or Iraq, could've Done the Un-Thinkable to Obama and his Comapany !!

Obama Marched Onward into the Most dangerous Areas...Afghanistan and Later Toured Iraq, in spite of .........McCain's Low Life Move Of literally Breaking Rules of Security Conduct and Courtesy.

    Obama would Never do that...Never.

Obama also showed Class and Dignity, by Not Rubbing it in to McCain, when he could've...

He could've Met the Masses that Waited for him in France and Great Britain, but he maintained a more Subtle and Professional Manner, Opposed to going to the Eiffel Tower and Wimbley Stadium...Then McCain and his Staff would've had a Cardiac Arrest.

Obama has Class and Dignity and that is a Presidential Quality, to Look Above and Over Petty, Triteful and Busch League Politicians like John "Semi-Senile" McCain

The War sure as hell took a Long TIME to WIN and those WORDS are HOLLOW anyway, because it waas the Anbar Awakening that made PRESUMED VICTORY a Reality.

Whoever you are, Stop Believing Yourself and look to the facts, Mccain had nothing to do with Winning Wars, via his own Military Strategies, It was just 20,000 Additional Troops and the Military Strategy was MCFARLAND'S MILITARY STRATEGY ...........

    NOT MCCAIN'S..

    Got it...Great !!

John McCain Made Nothng but a Series of Desperate Political , Busch League Blunders During Obama's Tour and Fate gave McCain, what he Deserved...

McCain tried it in April and later in Canada, Columbia and Mexico and he ...FAILED !!!

Everybody in those Countries were saying, Who is this Old A!! Guy and why is he... HERE !!!

John McCain an his Planned Big Oil Rig Showcase, to Upstage Obama, instead McCain got a Category 2 Hurricane and Oil SPILL and thats just Fate having it's Way.

Sarkozy Gave McCain 45 Minutes and he's a Conservative and Embraced Obama and called him a "Friend" also Sarkozy said he knew Obama.

Big Note: McCain Did take his Entourage and MEDIA with him on his Fact Finding Mission and they Covered his MisSteps, Misques and Forgetful Moments, all Caught on Film, You Tube...IDIOT !!

Face Facts...While Obama and Clinton were campaigning against one another....

    McCain Can Stoop No...LOWER !!!

It's a fact that Obama canceled a visit to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center at the last minute after planning it for weeks. And it's a fact that reporters and their cameras would not have been allowed to accompany him. Furthermore, Obama probably did go to the gym that day, as he does practically every day. So the bare facts stated in the ad are true, but they don't support McCain's insinuation.

We can't read minds and so are in no position to know Obama's motives, or McCain's for that matter. It's unlikely, however, that the absence of press coverage would have been a factor in Obama's decision, as the ad implies. Obama says he never planned to take reporters on the Landstuhl visit, and Department of Defense rules prohibited him from taking reporters on previous visits he made with wounded troops.

Big Note 1:Reporters were not allowed to accompany him when he visited wounded troops at Walter Reed Medical Center on June 28. The small "protective pool" of reporters that routinely accompanies him was told by Obama's staff to remain outside, in the van, according to a reporter covering the campaign. Similarly, Obama visited wounded troops in Baghdad earlier in his overseas trip, but he did so without reporters and "without a lot of fanfare, just to say 'Thanks'," according to Democratic Sen. Jack Reed of Rhode Island, who accompanied Obama.

Big Note 2: t's true Obama made time for at least one workout while he was in Germany. And he has been known to dedicate more than a few minutes to his exercise regimen. Two reporters who cover Obama, and who were on this trip, tell us that the candidate works out every day, and sometimes twice a day. However, the video of Obama playing basketball featured in McCain's ad is from his time in Kuwait, not Germany.

This ad is misleading and bordering libel. It should be withdrawn. It just goes to show how desperate McCain and his campaign have become that they are prepared to perjure themselves. No matter what you say old man Mac you are going down and will be taken out come Nov 4th
    Obama 08/12.

This is such sad politics on MCcain's part. I can only hope his supporters open their eyes before their vote is wasted on him. He knows nothing about helping us in this economy. Remember when Hillary (not attacking her, just remembering) tried to fool the people on a gas tax holiday and Obama foiled it by saying we will only save about 28 or so dollars over the course of the summer. Again, MCcain s trying to pull that drill now act, and he even believes that we will not see results for at least 5 years. Obama knows his stuff...clean energy and now! That's a President you can believe in.

Its a Known Fact, that John McCain has Not Visited (Afghanistan) in 2 Years and he was in the Region (Iraq) Heavily Gaurded by Our Military...

Hell Laura Bush Visited (Afghanistan) Today...

    Yet McCain Attacks Obama !!!

Mccain, You Scolded obama for Not Traveling to (Iraq) yet your Pasty Pale, Sickly and Forgetful A!! has not gone to Afghanistan in 2 Years and You were in the Region...

Remember, Afghanistan and Iraq Share the ...SAME BORDER and Not Pakistan...

McCain Was Against Raising Taxes Before He Was Maybe For It

    Source:www.reuters.com

    Another flip-flop from John McCain:

Republican presidential candidate John McCain drew a sharp rebuke Monday from conservatives after he signaled an openness to a higher payroll tax for Social Security, contrary to previous vows not to raise taxes of any kind.

Another position changed to mimic a policy advocated by Barack Obama.

Obama has called for imposing a new payroll tax on incomes above $250,000. ... When Obama announced his plan June 13, McCain's top economic adviser, Douglas Holtz-Eakin, told reporters that as president McCain would not consider a payroll tax increase "under any imagineable circumstance."

Perhaps McCain's imagination has improved. But don't worry. McCain will switch back to his original position tomorrow. But he probably won't return to his support for the privatization of social security until later in the week. His policies depend on his mood, apparently. Or on his moment-to-moment sense of what will play to voters.

  • Posted By: a brighter America 08 @ 07/29/2008 9:14:47 PM

When people get desperate, they get pretty stinky, and McCain is smelling quite putrid in both his actions and his contemptable and slanderous accusations, lies, and distortions. Gramm said we had become a nation of whiners; then he backtracked and said it was the "leaders" that he was talking about! Was he talking specifically about McCain as one of those leaders?? After all, he's been around him long enought to really know McCain! Des[eration and resentment will destroy you! By the way, one of his spokesmen said the morning that one of the reasons Senator Obama was having difficulty is because he is of MIXED RACE. Here we go again, with the opposing candidate bringing up the race card about Senator Obama!!

    • Posted By: notroubleatall1963 @ 07/29/2008 10:00:48 PM

Why is America so enthralled with Republican politics? It just stumps me beyond belief? What happened to our educational system that we are so interested in keeping the status quo and not venturing into innovative territory with our leadership? Is there something about Obama that is too risky? WHAT, pray tell, could that possibly be? He's smart, educated, charming, well mannered, interesting and charismatic.

What the hell is everybody waiting for?

I think this whole election process is lasting MUCH TOO LONG. It's getting so boring it's almost painful to watch.

  • Posted By: a brighter America 08 @ 07/29/2008 9:24:38 PM

I beginning to wonder if perhaps the Republicans would have been better off going to ther geriatric ward of a nursing home and looked for a statesman with all his mental facilities intact to be their nominee. McCain is a nasty, bitter, and resentful old man who cannot stand that this young go getter who happens to be BLACK could dare to run for the Office of the Presidency. McCain is a bigot.....remember how he refused to vote for the Martin Luther King Holiday, he refused to vote for Civil Rights, and is now voting AGAINST EQUAL PAY FOR WOMEN. He votes for insurance coverage for Viagra (usually for elderly men like himself) and votes AGAINST insurance coverage for Birth Control. Look at his poor, pathetic wife, always several steps BEHIND John McCain, he treats her with less consideration and respect than some would treat their dogs. And of course, we know we dog lovers love our pets unconditionally. Cindi looks downright tight-lipped and farightened. Ido not think she is afraid of the people, but I do believe she is afraid she might do something that would set John McCain off....we already KNOW he has little if any respect for her.

    • Posted By: notroubleatall1963 @ 07/29/2008 9:54:47 PM

Cindi (god, she even spells it like Bambi) seems to be treated like Laura Bush - always kept in the background and just an appendage on McCain's arm, like the trophy wife she once was. So cliche, so conventional - that's what makes Americans comfortable apparently.

So they will swing toward McCain as soon as their leaders starts the tacky lies and smear tactcis that Hillary did. But actually, she lost. And so will he. Neither ran a good campaign. McCain's is outright BORING compared to Hillary Clinton's. I miss Hillary! She was more of an equal opponent for Obama. But she and McCain were birds of a feather -- Old Guard who expect to win.

Clinton didn't and he won't either.

  • Posted By: notroubleatall1963 @ 07/29/2008 9:51:39 PM

The worst thing about McCain is his lack of polish. Just like Bush Jr., he seems gauche and awkward, cracks uncouth jokes and generally has a mirthless sort of humor - he doesn't seem comfortable in his skin.

But Americans will get the president they deserve. If they want a Geriatric Old Guard Fart to rule their country, then by God, they are FREE to vote that way.

Good luck to you, GOP supporters, you may bring down the ship yet - keep on trying. Cheat a little if things don't go your way. It's been done before. Bush did it twice in 8 years.

  • Posted By: yh132 @ 07/29/2008 8:39:10 PM

McCain sounds like Clinton did during the primaries. No matter what Obama does, they are offended. McCain is using the kitchen sink strategy and emphasizing his experience, which you know, worked so well for Clinton. The underlying tone seems to be that the entrenched interests (McCain and Clinton) have a right to power b/c they were there first, and how dare this upstart presume to be their opponent? Doesn't he know who they are?

    • Posted By: pearsoncrz @ 07/29/2008 8:56:38 PM

Actually, it did work. It was the first time anyone actually said anything critical of Obama, and HRC won most of the primaries after that.

Funny that an Obama supporter would use HRC as a parallel with McCain. Democrats who are supporting Obama should be wooing Hillary supporters, not saying things that will piss them off and align them with McCain.

As for entrenched interests, do you include Obama's Chicago style pay to play politics, the kind that has him requesting millions in earmarks for his political cronies, financial supporters, and even his wife's employer? Or maybe you include his FISA vote, payback for all the financial support his campaign has received from people in the communications industry?

Obama isn't change. He isn't anything new. He is the same old same old politics that Chicago has been producing for generations. Rev. Wright had it right: Obama will say and do whatever he thinks he needs to say and do to get elected and stay in power.

      • Posted By: notroubleatall1963 @ 07/29/2008 9:48:56 PM

Well, I'll take Chicago politicians ANY DAY over Texans. And I think Arizona politicians are lame, judging from the poor campaign McSame is running.

Nobody was criticizing Clinton, either - the person above was just making a parallel. Hillary's campaign was poorly advised, she only found her voice when she stopped slinging stupid "mud" - and Obama never stooped to her level, nor will he stoop to McSame's - if he makes any criticism it's fact-based, not bullshit.

Hillary's supporters can go an vote for McSame - they were probably mainly GOP voters anyway who just wanted to see a woman in the white house. Once Hillary lost, they're all reverting to their norm - conservative and proud of it. Yeccchhh. Don't change, keep the Old Guard ruling your nation you sheep!

    • Posted By: bwlear @ 07/29/2008 3:20:33 PM

Why was Mr McCains experience not enough for you Republicans to vote for him over Mr Bush but you harp on it now? I wont try to explain to you why Mr Obama did not visit the troops in Germany since you dont want to hear the truth, but please explain how experience is your deciding factor now. Are you conceeding the point that your vote for Mr Bush was a mistake?

      • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 07/29/2008 4:12:36 PM

bwlear, they choose to forget about the 2000 election. McCain, an experienced senator couldn't make it against an unknown, Gov. Bush. That was 8 years ago and nothing had changed.

        • Posted By: pearsoncrz @ 07/29/2008 5:59:34 PM

In case you don't remember, Bush had held executive level jobs before as Gov and in business. A lot of presidential candidates get their executive experience outside of Washngton. Obama doesn't have that.

          • Posted By: AskPlus @ 07/29/2008 6:23:10 PM

            • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 07/29/2008 9:46:57 PM

Those ventures failed. His baseball team, The Texas Rangers failed too.

            • Posted By: pearsoncrz @ 07/29/2008 9:08:06 PM

Not so good for Bush, but he was always a dummy. He wasn't any good as a baseball exec either. I didn't vote for him.

They didn't work so well for Carter either, and he was pretty dadgum smart, a nuclear physicist and all. Brains aren't everything, even if Obama thinks they are enough.

But the experience in the governor's office worked out pretty good for Bill Clinton and Ronald Reagan. Both were effective decision makers who not only made good decisions but knew how to implement them and pursue the goals and agenda they set.

We can't afford to have someone learning on the job how the executive branch and military forces operate.

    • Posted By: Mimi13 @ 07/29/2008 6:13:13 PM

A few good decisions are worth more, I think, than a long career of faulty ones.

      • Posted By: pearsoncrz @ 07/29/2008 9:03:43 PM

What "good decisions"? Obama doesn't have any accomplishments to his credit. At most he has taken credit for others' work.

McCain does NOT seek the spoltlight, the spotlight comes to him!! When people find out Senator Obama will be in their areas, they come by the thousands to hear him speak and to see him. He is able to bring people of all cultures, all races, all sizes, all colors, all ages, this is why he gets the spot light. I don't too many reporters are too enthused to cover McCain in front of the market place cheese display with jars of applesauce rolling past McCain and his feet as a result of the cameraman tripping over the applesauce display. People go to Obama's rallies in droves because he is extremely intelligent and consistently gives a speech McCain can only dream of. Obama is inspiring and motivating; McCain is dull, contradicts himself continually, and spends more time slandering and belittling his opponent on a personal level; who in the heck wants to hear what this man has to say?? He is a small man with a pea-sized brain, thus no smarts, no intellect, and no coherent plans or messages.

  • Posted By: Richard1327 @ 07/29/2008 1:59:01 PM

McCain in front of a cheese aisle beats "both ways Barack" in front of 200,000 Germans any day of the week.

    • Posted By: a brighter America 08 @ 07/29/2008 8:53:04 PM

McCain in the aisle in front of the cheese displays depicts him perfectly: CHEESEY! Then while McCain is walking around the same market, one of the cameramen trips over the applesauce display and jars of applesauce are rolling past McCain's feet. Guess THIS is the kind of coverage McCain was hungering for?? McCain is am embittered, resentful, elderly man whose only claim to greatness is being a POW and I have to wonder how THAT makes him a hero and presidential material. In his TWENTY (20) years of military service and POW, the highest grade he ever made was that of CAPTAIN. This does not bespeak well for McCain!! Look at the FOUR STAR GENERAL CLARKE FOR COMPARISON. McCain was a cocky flyboy who defied military rules by circling back to the target he had just bombed, when he should have returned to homebase. Perhaps he can explain why he circled back and why he did so while flying slower and lower?? All of these actions tell me McCain made some pretty bad judgements and was shot down by the Viet Cong as a result of his bad judgement, failure to follow orders, and carelessness. His actions do not exemplfy those of a responsible flyboy.
