Simpson got what he deserved for the crime he committed in Nevada. It occurred to me though... OJ beat the system in California ala Cochran and Ito, and right or wrong, all this guy had to do was spend his NFL retirement checks, (about 16K a month) play golf and otherwise lay low.

I wonder what part of "lay low" OJ didn't understand?

    It's about time.

At least nine years in prison and because of his "celebrity status" he will spend all of it in solitary confinement.
The psychological toll that Mr. Simpson will suffer as a result of his solitary incarceration will be far more damaging than if he were to spend the majority of his sentence in general. What goes around, comes around.

I never thought i would see injustice and not feel remorse. OJ killed his wife Nicole and Ron Goldman. He is noe paying for that crime. He was railroaded in Nevada but it doesn't bother me. What does that say about me?

He was sentenced to prison..now he must do the time. Being arrogant and narcissistic has landed him in a place where he will have numerous opportunities do test his skills. Life is bitter -sweet but so beautiful!

Gee, I guess it ALL caught up with him. His ego just took a huge hit. Being a "football star" won't get him out of this one. He should be placed with the general prison population and not go to a Martha Stewart suite!
Hmmmm...I wonder, though, how will he wriggle out of this one?

He wasn't that soory when he killed two people thirteen years ago was he?

It is the same old thing with OJ he thinks he is above the law and he found out he wasn't this time. Thank God for an intelligent judge!!

OJ might as well appeal, he certainly doesn't have much to lose -- although annoying the state with the cost and hassle of another trial is almost a guarantee of adding more time, if not double, to the sentence they have in mind. I'm convinced this man must have some sort of mental imbalance, maybe the result of one too many hard tackles way back in his football days, because he's one of the most troubled ex-athletes in US history. Half the country believes he got away with murder and the rest thinks he might have, and I've yet to hear one person say he's innocent. And the rumor is he had an aquittal party all planned...

According to Chilly from Nevada, the robbery statute out there is pretty clear: the taking of property by force or fear. Agreed, it doesn't leave room to squawk about whos stuff it used to be or why the agressor thinks he should have it back. OJs behavior -- acting manacing and walking in with other armed men -- certainly seems to qualify under that definition. So what's to argue -- that he's OJ Simpson and we ought to believe him regardless of the facts?

Whatever happens, he brought it on himself and the Sympathy Meter is reading pretty low for the old has-been. He had the American Dream and turned it into a nightmare. Could've followed other ex-stars and retired right, sponsored a Pop Warner team or sold a line of mens clothing, but no... No Drean team this time, no celebs taking his side or offering opinions, and nothing in sight except the sunset though the barbed wire at Nevada State Prison. Hey, maybe he can do a remake of The Longest Yard and call it The Longest Fraud, the story of a foolish man who had it made and flushed his own life down the drain...

Having lived in Nevada for many years and being familiar with the law, I'll tell you the definition of robbery in Nevada: taking property by use of force or fear. That's it. There's no mention of who is the property's owner or whether they had a really good excuse for it. Although we hope our justice system is fair, the jury didn't have to consider anything from the California case at all. The only thing to consider was whether this incident met the elements of the crime. And it did, apparently. The celebrity who believes he is above the law is finally being held accountable for his actions. So of course his attorney is whining about it.

This case has nothing to do with the other one in California. It is not a question of whether or not OJ had the right to take his property. If he had gone to his lawyer and said these people have my stuff and I want to get it back, the lawyer would have gone through the legal procedures and OJ would more than likely have his things now and not be facing jail time. OJ chose to take the law into his own hands and be a tough guy and this is the price he will now pay for doing that.

Oh... Humm ???? Let's see here""" The trial is not weither or not the Goods in Question were stolen,,,
    but
Weither you the CITIZEN have the right to retake(Recover) your property......
The Judge(State) says that you the Citizen( O J ) in this case... has theNO right to take action..
    but
Remember This is from a state (Government) the will kiddnap you!!! seize your car and sell it.'
take your freedom for the recovery of Money or goods the State say's you owe them...
WHAT is the Difference??????? a Gun in your face is the Same .. State or OJ's

  • Posted By: theseekeroflifestruth @ 10/04/2008 4:00:35 AM

Interesting question ??? let's see.. if I've got it right.... The case is about weither or not you the individual has the right to recover his goods by force....
the state say's you don't and the Judge Instructs the Jury to ignore who the rightfull owner of the goods are!!!!
that the Individual {The Murderer Simpson ) has no right to use force to recover goods......
However the state , Cops . Marshalls and Sheriffs will stop you on the Street, in your home, in the John
any where to take your Money for fines ,overtime parking, fines, tax's , child support, Not paying to register your
car to retrieve there Goods {Money) what ever........ Humm?????????
    How come O J or you Can't ??????

If that blatant liar is found not guilty again, then that would show that ppl can get away with serious crimes as long as you have status or money...He is obviously guilty in this one...And its NOT because he is black!..He is on cctv, he is going to "retreive" his stolen belongings, and had every intentions to use force to get them back...GUILTY

Is O.J. still looking for Nicole and Ron's killer? Or has he given up on finding the killer?

    • Posted By: observer101 @ 10/03/2008 3:52:17 PM

To find the killer he has to look in the mirror...The authorities have given up on looking for the killer, because they have already found him..OJ...He may think he has gotten away w/ it..But he cant live forever...He will have to meet Nicole eventually...
