Who gives a sh*t who owned Israel 1300 years ago? The fact is that they are there now..Why dont you ppl that are complaining about land rights "give" Indians back their rightful land if you are to use the "whos land it was before" story! Im pretty sure you wont be handing it back because its "yours"...If the Israelis didnt exist and werent there now the Palestinians would be fighting amoungst themselves as they are right this minute...As for the canadian commenter: Who cares what Obamas name is, Im not voting for him because of his name, Im NOT voting for him because of his inexperience.

To Add to TheVigil's comment I would like to point out that the talk of the lack of what is termed "modern state" in Palestine negates the Muslim conquests that happened 1300 some years ago. Ask yourself how did the 3rd Muslim holy site happen to be the Masjid Al-Aqsa in Palestine? This is 100% proof that Muslims were there for a long time, and that this notion of a lack of a state is simply to degrade the foe so that sympathy towards the foe is negated. And that is exactly what Israel wants.

Controls and high tech nuclear power plants can transform not only Iran, but all the middle east.
McCain supports building +/- 170 nuclear power plants in the U.S. and China has developed nuclear pebbles that do not melt down. France used nuclear power for 80% of their electricity and recycles in Normandy. It is a matter of security over all nuclear materials, Iran included. Iran has plenty of weapons of mass destruction and complete chaos in the middle east would ensue if Israel or the U.S. attacked.
The price of gas in the U.S. would go through the roof too. The Iranian problem right now must be solved diplomatically, and strict controls and inspections over the entire nuclear energy program in Iran solves this potential nuclear bomb issue, especially considering that Iran has stated it has no intent to build bombs.
It is all about control over all nuclear materials and nuclear power facilities, wherever they exist.

Many of you remember this....I discussed Hussein's Christian massacring cousin, in Kenya FOR WEEKS...All the obamamohammeds, tried to downplay it, ridicule facts, and discredit it. WELL, WELLl, WELL ...seems a NEW#1 BESTSELLER is on the stands. Obama Nation...by..Dr. Jerome Corsi Ph.D(remember the swiftboats???... Here is what Dr. Corsi says............................

Dr. Jerome Corsi told Sean Hannity yesterday that he has tapes of Barack Obama campaigning for his COUSIN, Raila Odinga, in Kenya back in 2006.

Odinga's trying to overthrow the US-backed government of democratically-elected President Mwai Kibaki, so he can institute sharia law (fundamentalist merging of religion and state) in Kenya.

Obama campaigned for Odinga as a sitting United States Senator, where he spoke in front of crowds with his cousin Odinga:

There's a natural train of logic here that could be very damaging for Obama in the general election if Corsi actually does possess footage of Obama's Kenyan campaign tour:

    (1) Odinga's supporters are determined to overthrow the Kenyan government, so his campaign appearances would address that as his chief goal.

    (2) By nature of wanting to overthrow the Kenyan government, Odinga's supporters are anti-American, since the Kenyan government is US-backed (and at least partially reliant on the US for stability).

    (3) A successful campaign by Odinga would mean making anti-American statements, coupled with anti-Kenyan government statements, at campaign stops to rev up his followers.

    (4) Obama appeared at campaign rallies with Odinga in Kenya, for Odinga's followers.

    (5) Obama has a proven track record of telling people exactly what they want to hear (see: San Francisco liberals re: bitter, gun-clinging Midwesterners; Ohio voters re: NAFTA; the Canadian government re: NAFTA; the liberal netroots re: FISA, campaign finance reform, you name it).

You know where this is going.

If Obama's audience wanted to hear anti-American remarks, and Odinga always obliged these people, then Obama, with Odinga, at a campaign rally like this, as a sitting US Senator, well, fill in the blank. Or, go read Corsi's book. Or, just wait for the tapes.

Should be interesting. BUT WHAT THE HECK....They were only Christians...RIGHT???

    NOBAMA!!!

You know, I???ve seen you post this drivel before and ignored it because it does not have much to do with our elections. Your assertions to the contrary there is no evidence that Odinga is related to Obama, and even if he was maybe a fifth cousin, who cares? But frankly, you are so full of bull it must be seeping out your ears. Your knowledge of the recent Kenya election would not fill a thimble.

Kibaki is not America???s man in Kenya. While the United States has an interest in a stable Kenya, it has no particular interest in who is president. When the election fell apart, Bush was one of the first to call for power-sharing between Odinga and Kibaki because none of the international observers at the election headquarters could say with any certainty who had actually won.

Odinga is the current prime minister ??? part of a power-sharing deal brokered by Condi Rice, Gordon Brown and mostly UN General Secretary Kofi Annan. With Annan???s help, President Kibaki and PM Odinga managed to divvy up the positions in parliament even enough to make both their tribes, if not happy, at least content, although it remains to be seen if Kenya can support such a large government.

There were gross irregularities on both sides, brought about by tribal differences because the Kikiyu, Kibaki???s tribe and the largest in Kenya, has held all positions of power since Kenya gained independence. There is a lot of pent up resentment against the tribe. There are a lot of reasons to be suspicious of the election (from BBC News):
      1. The results were delayed for more than a day, at a time when ODM candidate Raila Odinga was leading
      2. Many thousands of people seem to have only voted in the presidential election but not the parliamentary or local polls held at the same time
      3. In the parliamentary race, Mr Odinga's ODM won twice as many seats as Mr Kibaki's Party of National Unity (PNU)
      4. Results in some constituencies were different when announced nationally from results announced locally.
      5. The head of the election commission has admitted that turnout in one constituency was 115%.

According to the official results, Mr Kibaki won with a tiny margin of 230,000 votes out of a total cast of some 10 million. This means that the alleged malpractices could easily have changed the outcome.
As part of the agreement, the Kenyan constitution is supposed to be revised by early next year. Kibaki cannot run again because of term limits. It is probable that Odinga will be elected president in the next election, unless there is something in the new constitution that would create a stumbling block. Thus, there is little incentive to mount a coup.

Odinga visited the United States on June 18 and was welcomed at the State Department by Sec. Rice. Far from being anti-American, Odinga expressed his gratitude to the United States for helping Kenya through its crisis. The opening remarks between Sec. Rice and PM Odinga are in the next frame.

      • Posted By: Mimi13 @ 08/02/2008 1:26:06 AM

Prime Minister Odinga met witih Sec. Rice at the U.S. State Dept. on JUNE 18, 2008. Prior to their meeting they offered brief remarks to the press, listed below. Funny, but Odinga does not sound like the big scary wide-eyed radical that HolyRoller would like him to be. He sounds pretty much like the typical prime minister, one who will probably be elected president in the nect election. BTW, he is a Social Democrat, not a socialist (that was his father), and he practices the Anglican (Episcopalian) religion (most Kenyans are Christian). Although he promised to end government persecution of Muslims, he certainly never considered installing sharia. Why would he? He's not even Muslim!

SECRETARY RICE: I???d like to welcome the Prime Minister of Kenya, Prime Minister Odinga. It is very good to have you here. I believe that your election as prime minister shows that the Kenyan people have come through difficult times, but it was really the strength of Kenyan democracy, Kenyan civil society, and the will of Kenya???s leaders to resolve the crisis that brings us to this moment. I am looking forward to an update on how you???re doing on the reforms that have been agreed. But Kenya has a good friend in the United States, and the United States believes that it has a good friend in Kenya. So, welcome.

PRIME MINISTER ODINGA: Thank you so much, Condi. I???m very happy to be back here in Washington, this time as Prime Minister. I said yesterday, we are very grateful to the U.S. for the support that we received in our hour of need during the crisis. You personally came to Nairobi and I want to confirm here that your personal role in this process made it possible for us to achieve the understanding. This role played also by the UN, by the European Union, and other friends of Kenya.

As you know, peace has returned back to Kenya. We have come here to say that Kenya is up and moving again; we are ready for business. That???s why we are actively appealing to the friends of Kenya to come back. We are appealing to the business to come and invest in Kenya, tourists to come back to Kenya, because it is now safe again. And we want the world to see that we want to move this forward. This is an experiment (inaudible) the first time in Africa. It???s a pioneering exercise, but we want to show that it can work. And that???s why the team are coming here. It???s a mixed team, both sides of the coalition with me here and the Minister for Defense, and also the Minister for Transport and Assistant Minister for Trade. So I???m very happy to be in D.C. again.

SECRETARY RICE: Well, you and the President did a fine job to get Kenya back on the road again, and welcome, Raila. Good to have you here.

Unfortunately,Which the Iran Government is aware of, The Israeli airforce may have to completely destroy Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon if They decide to hit Iran. Immediately thousand of those rockets will start to fly in to Israel. I think at this point The Israeli Government should make it clear to Hamas, Fatah, Lebanon, and Hezbullah in the event of a strike on Iran from Israel a group attack on Israel will bring the full force of all branches of the Israeli military and the future of a Palestinian state will end. A nuclear Iran will bring a slow death to stability in the Middle East and an Israeli attack on Iran will bring a fast death to stability in the Middle East. Now or Later? Now is better no atomic weapons for Iran.

Israel has no obligation to support the Arabs (Palestinians). Let their wealthy Arab neighbors take care of them and don't blame Israel if they are poor. And, I repeat, they would destroy Israel in a few weeks if they took over. Gaza is a mess and so is everything else these people touch. Keep them away from Israel and send them to Iran or Saudi Arabia. Arabs are brothers aren't they Israelis are not Arabs and don't need to take care of these Arab free loaders.

As usual, another Obama flip flop. Wasn't it just a few months ago when he stated that Iran was not a threat???? But to kiss a** Jews every where, he now contends that they are a great threat to Israel. What is his answer to an attack on Israel. Sit down and talk. At least Hillary wanted to anihilate them. Also, today his new proposal is to provide rebates to everyone from the big oil companies. Just another attempt to pander to the American public instead of come up with alternative fuel sources. Oh and don't forget that everyone
should fill their tires and get regular checkups... That will go a long way to saving on gas prices.... Does this man have any clue.... I don't think so... And each day it becomes clearer that he is totally unsuitable and inexperienced to run this country....

As a McCain supporter, I completely agree with his bomb, bomb Iran policy...we need to show the rest of the world that we're still the boss, and all the French and other inferior countries can do is cry about it. Let's bomb Iran back to stone age, then we won't have to worry about them any more. while we're at we should also bomb pakistan and syria. that'll show 'em who's superior. and the French. I'm so tired of the wishy washy French and their 30 hour work week...let's bomb them too.

      • Posted By: mcleodmn @ 08/01/2008 4:46:26 PM

They speak French in Canada. I think they should be next. Now that I think of it, New Orleans has a French quarter....

The fact that Obama can sit down with a bigot like Bibi Netenyahu shows that he is not afraid to talk with people who are very different from him. If the Iran problem is going to be solved by anything other than "bomb, bomb, bomb", we need Obama as president.

Darfur is a region many times the size of Israel. We sit idly by and watch people die by the thousands yet we are willing to risk nuclear armageddon rather than speak a single contrary word to Israel. I see no other explanation than ignorance and racism.

    • Posted By: busby @ 08/01/2008 1:04:20 PM

I see no other explanation other than anti-semitism.

      • Posted By: TheVigil @ 08/01/2008 4:11:19 PM

        Bull fscking horse sh*t.

I'm TIRED of this sh*t. There's a faction in the U.S. and abroad that screams "anti-Semite" any time someone criticizes Israel. It's a load of CRAP.

One can be critical of Israel without hating the Jewish people. Some of my great-grandparents were Russian Jews who were forced to leave Russia due to *actual* anti-Semitism. I deeply respect and revere my heritage, but that doesn't mean I don't have a lot of criticisms of the modern Jewish state - particularly with some Lebanese heritage coming from the other side.

You do a disservice to *real* protestations against anti-Semitism when you accuse innocent people of it, sir. It's persecutory. Real anti-Semites hate Judaism *regardless* of the actions of its adherents - some of us are criticizing Israel *because* of their actions. We would have no problem with the state if it *apologized* for the Palestinian exodus and started making a real effort to aid the hundreds of thousands that are still refugees. But when you accuse people across the board of anti-Semitism just because we don't agree with everything Israel does, that tells me that you have no real conception of either yourself or anyone else - all you feel is this narcissistic sense of victimization.

It's a disgrace to your heritage and mine. Why don't you try standing up and having some integrity instead of spitting slander?

    • Posted By: MoJabar @ 08/01/2008 10:51:07 AM

Young Hickory, Darfur's problems belong to Darfur; I don't mean to sound crass, but when isn't some African country hosting a genocide? Darfur is just another Arab/Islamist deathfest whose victims are black Africans, so your point about racism makes no sense at all. How can you possibly compare Sudan's genocide and Iran's nuclear ambitions and the necessity for Israel to react?

who authorized Obama to make statements on behalf of the USA?

    • Posted By: ljw54321 @ 08/01/2008 4:09:30 PM

Who authorized McCain to make statements on behalf of the USA? Especially stupid ones like "bomb, bomb Iran" or "everyone knows Iran supports al-quaeda", or the "Iraq-Pakistan border".

What everyone should look at is the states from each canidates and look at how thewy are doing. Illinois has a great education system and treats educators with respect. They have a pretty good economy and most people there are happy. Arizona ranks 49th in education and Mcain has the record for not voting so you can see that here in Az most of us are not happy. But I am sure we wont be lke Texas and get rid of their politician by sending him/her to the White House will take care of him when he is forced to face us.

In his address of September 19th, 1796, given as he prepared to leave office, President George Washington spoke about, among other things, avoiding alliances with foreign governments: "Tis our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliances with any portion of the foreign world."

The father of our nation speaks from his grave, it is in no way to the advantage of the United States of America to be in a permannet alliance with the state of Israel.

God bless American is the usual saying common in American society. What ponders me is why we Americans do not believe in God. King Solomon was a very young and unskilled when he was chosen as the successor of King David. I believe the Israelites know this story better. King Solomon was the best king that has ever ruled (1 King 3: 5, 7-10). Well, I am an independent but I will like to make the following point to those who think he is young and inexperience are missing the point because a good leader is one who is able to discern between good and evil. I guess you can make the judgement for yourself. Amongst thes two candidates, which of them is a war monger and which of them has been accused of being an appeaser?

John Mccain want to drill everywhere and open 49 nuclear plants. I hope he understands that cancer can kill and that to drill recklessly and opening nuclear plans recklessly without taking into consideration how the waste will be treated will expose todays generation to dangerous toxins that will not only be canciogenic to the skin but to the lungs and kidneys. I hope he wishes that we the youths live up to 72 years. We are not ready to die at the same time with John Mccain.

    • Posted By: Zombiehero @ 08/01/2008 12:05:51 PM

You mean carcinogen. You really need to study up some more. You have more chance of dying from cigarette smoke, driving and flying than you do from dying due to any nuclear reactor accident. Ask yourself why the Europeans have more Nuclear Power plants than any other place in the world, and how many accidents? Ask yourself how many Nuclear Power plants are in Illinois and how many accidents have their been? If you'd bother to study a bit more, you will know that the advances in Nuclear Technologies over the last 30 years have made Nuclear Power the safest, most environmentally friendly power production in the world, also new bacteria have been developed that will extract more of the Uranium ore causing less environmental damage and decreasing the amount of spent nuclear fuel that will have to be stored.
