I actually saw a guy in a blue blazer, gray pants, and his fancy black crocs in a Beverly Hills office building this afternoon. Ha!

I loved your article...I found it amusing and I strongly agree...The croc trend has got to end...crocs should stay in the gardens or behind closed doors...I also have a comment for the silly person who commented below and went off subject with the whole "bill clinton" thing, all I have to say is get over it...Don't dwell on the past worry about our current persident...Its refreshing to read an article the doesn't have to do with the war or gas p'rices...Besides you could of stopped reading at any time but you chose not to because whether or not you want to admit it was interesting...
---Croc hater
Well, I guess I'm a dork then because I wear Crocs in public. I don't care what people like you think, I'll wear something (to a certain point) as long as I am comfortable. I will not stop wearing Crocs, just because you people say how they're lame.
the headline should read "crocks saved my life ...or crocks cured my lower back pain ...or.... being a fashion designer I made them a part of my life and style because they are so functional and beneficial...."
are they just shoes??? I rather have CROCKS than nikes or adidas to relax my feet. in....I am one of the DORKS you'll count on the street, that's for sure.....
I was not a big fan of the "Croc". I am not one to partake in any fashion statements or follow any societal norm. I am definately not a person who would under normal circumstances thought I of all people would be wearing these shoes. My foot hurt. I went to the Doctor and then to a foot specialist. I am now wearing the "Crocs" and my foot does not hurt. It is simple as that. Don't judge a book by its cover!! If I did and stuck just to principles about not wanting to wear these shoes, my foot would still hurt.

I myself don???t own any crocs but I know a lot of nurses that wear them because they are on their feet all day. So even, though they may not look nice, when you are lying on a operating table who really cares? And for those people who aren???t on their feet all day, what allows you to complain about them. Beauty is subjective. People have different ideas of what looks good and if it isn???t hurting you then who cares.
and as for the person below me,oh please let me know your secret of keeping the dirt out of the holes. i'd love to know, thanks

You know what, my kids love there crocs. So I do not care what you or anyone else thinks as long as they are happy. Just because I know it will make people like you mad, I think I will go buy all of my kids three more pair each!!!!!!!!
Great article. I didn't know Newsweek ever posted anything humorous. But I'm glad they did this time. I'm not an adamant Croc hater, but I'd have to say I agree that the shoes have gotten too trendy and over-used.
This article was too funny. I was LMAO! I could care less what shoes someone wears. I haven't laughed this hard in ages. I used to wear them for work as a nurse and I have to admit that hey are comfy-not sweaty, but they are ugly. I think there are more attractive alternatives, but again cares. Great article, however.. I am happy I took the time to read it. I emailed it to all my friends. Everyone should lighten up.
Perhaps the next time you are in the hospital needing some dire attention, you would like a nurse or doc who isn't wearing crocs. Maybe their feet will be killing them after a 12 hour shift and they can't think about anything else but the pain, or maybe they can't walk to your bedside so quickly when you're having that heart attack. Will it matter to you when you lie dying thinking, "thankfully they're not wearing those ugly crocs!"?
To the editor, you are a sorry excuse for a newsman for allowing Tuttle's school-girl bitch-rant waste precious pages of your magazine. Tuttle, you are a pathetic idiot. I can't wait for some kid to kick some sense into you with a croc-adorned foot. Why don't you encourage your kids to make fun of other people whose fashion doesn't agree with you so the world will know what a poor excuse of a parent you are.
wow.what an ass.i work on my feet running around all day pleasing people for minimum wage and i have to wear crocs.i have to.otherwise 10 hours later my feet are hurting so bad they tingle and when i get off them that hurts worse that being on them.so say what you want, but cant you please pitch a fit about something that matters? like gas prices or the economy?is crocs really the only thing that sucks for you in your life? i wish i had your wonderful life then.
I despise crocs. They are meant for the garden, and should not be worn elsewhere. As a self-proclaimed fashionista, I will fully agree with this article. Honestly, there are much more stylish options out there for those people who have feet issues. Please, keep the crocs in the flower bed and replace them with something else!
I have 2 girls (age 11 & 13) and they walked around Cedar Point (Sandusky, Ohio) for 2 days and had no problems with their feet. All of the adults had comfortable (walking) shoes on and our feet were hurting. Maybe it's an "age thing"?????
Who am I to judge, but some of you just sound like the Grinch Who Stole Christmas. My sister-in-law wears these so called stupid, ugly crocs, because she has spurs. They are just about the only pair of shoes that comfort her feet. I do not own a pair. Some of the fashion bashing is extremely humurous, but did you ever try to walk in someone elses shoes for one day?
this piece made me LMAO. So funny!
I also agree Crocs are ugly shoes. As someone who wore 'cruel shoes' with 3" heels and pointy toes for too many years, I have learned looks are not everything . Who thought that would apply to shoes.? Men get to wear some very ugly shoes and do not suffer most of their lives in the name of fashion. Women on the otherhand have embraced Crocs because they do not cause pain. If you have to stand up all day or work in a medical setting, you want to be comfortable. I would rather someone who is performing a medical procedure on me not be in pain. I had to wear a pair of Crocs Rx because of a heel injury. They were black and I only wore them with pants. They helped to cure the problem. I must say, if some one in pleated dockers and a pitted tee shirt is judging me on my footwear, I would not even be aware of it..On second thought I might give him a passing glance, smile at the child and wonder how someone who looks like that
got lucky even one time.! Wow, lets talk about Dockers...aren't they the Crocs of men's pants?
