Oh My God!!! What is the big deal about a pair of damn shoes. There is more things in the world to rant and rave about ,other than a pair of crocs. GET OVER IT STEVE AND GET A LIFE!!!!!!!!

Who am I to judge, but some of you just sound like the Grinch who stole Christmas. Feet are extremely important. My sister-in-law has spurs and these so called stupid ugly crocs are just about the only pair of shoes that she can wear without being in pain. Yes, they are ugly, comfortable and a lot of people do wear them. Good for them! I do not own a pair of crocs, but this fashion attack is just unpleasant and I am not in on the shananigans.

So... you hope to make a case against crocs by referencing others' attempts at parody? I've heard of a story with no substance, but how about a story that just took it's substance from EVERYBODY ELSE? I really could care less about crocs or your opinion, but if you want anybody to take you seriously, please, learn to write a proper editorial. I've seen teens and tweens with fashion grudges that write better than this.

Really, have you ever worn a pair? Yes, they are the most comfortable pair of shoes that I have ever worn. Do I wear them in public, no. Not because of what you are thinking. I am not worried about being thought a "Dorc." I do wear them at work. I am a nurse on a pediatrics floor. The bright colors go very nicely with some of the "clown" shirts I wear. The kids like the bright colors and my feet like the comfort they receive while spending all night walking the concrete floors. And yes, I agree, you have way too much time on your hands if this was what you do. Not to mention that your employer, who paid for this article, must be thinking the same. How about playing ball or frisbee or reading with your son rather than teaching him that making fun of people can be a sport. There is enough negativity in this world without adults passing it on to the next generation. Next time try writing something with some substance...........maybe tolerance for those different than yourself. That might be a great place to start.

i agree with siomi.. who are you 2 jugde what people do and do not wear... i have owned a few pair and have got my 2 1/2 year old son a pair.. not because they are fasionable but simply because they are easy 2 just slip into instead of tieing a 2 year olds shoes every 20 minutes or so.... crocks is not the biggest problem we have in this world so i dont see why people make it such a big deal... if that was the only problem we had 2 worry about then i believe we would be doing wonderful.. its just a shoe get over it

Who are you to judge what people choose to wear? I don't own a pair of croc's but, I just might go and buy a pair and wear them to church. Just look at all the low class people going around without shoes along with their poor kids. This country is just a mess, plain and simple.

I don't own a pair of croc's but, I respect a person's right to wear what they like. I live in Florida and you see a bunch of low class people walking barefoot into the local stores. I keep my mouth shut until I see the kids walkign around without shoes! Are people really this stupid, yes they are!

I happen to own a pair, and I wear them for work, and they really are VERY comfortable, when you are on your feet for 8 to 12 hours or more aday!! And is anyone making you wear them? And there is something more important than ranting about shoes, so would please just get a life, and write about the really important things! By the way I am buying a two pair of flip flop Crocs in the next few weeks!!

You know, I can't stand those shoes, either. I am a teacher and I have enever seen any of my colleagues wearing those shoes so I don't know where he is getting THAT information. I almost was offended further because it is really not our jobs as teachers to tell students what to wear as long as they are within the dress code standards. Anyway, Charss27 stated it very well. We have taken and item created for a specific purpose to the extreme! But if they work for you, what the heck? Truthfully, these shoes are no better a fashion statement than those horrid jelly shoes, but I don't know what specific purpose they served. At any rate, it's another fad gone wild! Wish I'd thought of it!!!!

Steve Tuttle needs to stop judging so harshly. The very fact that Newsweek posted his article on the web makes me want to never read Newsweek again. I wear them because they are the most multi-purpose shoe I own. True, they don't go well with fancy clothes but when I wore my Crocs to Europe and the airline lost my luggage for a week, I was happy I had my crocs on my feet and not in the suitcase. I encountered horrible rain storms and blasting heat and the Crocs were perfect for both. They are also bacteria fighters and the jibbitz look really cute. Steve probably hasn't worn Crocs, ever, or he'd be additcted to them too. The next article I want to read with a Steve Tuttle by-line is why he doesn't like high heels!

I loved the croc story. I too think crocs are or at least should be a crime to wear. Maybe one day adults will realize that crocs are not only ugly they make your legs look 10x larger than they really are. THank you for the funny story, I needed it!

Really this is the worst article I ever read... Who cares about people wearing crocks and how riduculous they look... I think there is more importnant stuff that you can write like people all over the world that don't have a pair of shoes to wear at all because of poverty.

I don't really have a problem with Crocs in genral, they are comfortable, durable, easy to clean. I say go for it, when it is a day at the beach, gardening in the back yard, puttering around town doing errands. But these shoes should not be worn to church, court (which I have observed, and on an attorney even), red carpet event, etc. That is when the whole Crocs trend is annoying. Everything has its time and place people.
