My sons are Autistic. They love Crocs. They are one of the only pairs of shoes they will actually wear outside. Many of their friends also only wear Crocs. At therapy we moms discuss where we get them (they sell out a lot where we live) and the newest colors, etc.

Also, does it truly matter what people wear?? No it is what they are on the inside that matters most and I am sorry, this author is teaching his son a terrible lesson.

Please be less judgemental, it is only shoes for crying out loud,

It had to be said again but, only by a Newsweek Journalist would the Croc of $#@! come to my attention. Yes I have never heard about the energy you say Mr. Journalist, people put in to griping about a pair of shoes. I am sure your job is to stir the pot of $#@! you write about, with the stick of America that is whiling to respond. So here is my response to your so tastefully written editorial.
WHY do we vote them in and go on with our lives only to gripe about what we are left with? If I am wrong, then I am right. ???Head fake???. My point is that there are a significant number of subjects to stir the American response than a pair of SHOES. I know that there may be the possibility that a lighter side to the trouble and, complaints could have been your direction in topic. Well that would be my low income hopes.
Here is a thought for you??? The ever so glorified Mr. Bill Clinton, I say Mr. because WHY would anyone in their right mind call him President Clinton. Give me a break please. This man in charge of our Nation and, the Button felt his indiscretions were his business and, he should lie about them. Just at the cost of our Nations money and, more importantly our children???s opinions of their role models. A lot of our money I should not need to add. Did he not get impeached?
I personally think the land of Sheep we are so cleverly being guided through should be addressed. Or maybe a set of Crocs on a man with no balls would suit our Nation as well as the??? Head Fake??? that seems to be the acceptable trend I am aware our people wear every day.

    With Concern,

Whats the big deal? I do think that crocs are more for women and little kids not a big fan of grown men wearing them. Its a trend and it will pass or just get worse they have high heels crocs now.

    I love you.

I hated these shoes since the day I saw the first pair. Thanks for taking advantage of your career and position to share your hatred with the world. It is better that you dislike a person for something that they choose to do to their body - or place on it, than for something that they have no control over, right?

    Big noses ??? A-OK.
    Crocs ??? Idiocy.

    Judge, judge away, Sir Tuttle!

Oh, and to everyone that has an ???opinion??? on this very article: learn how to spell. I put people that make spelling mistakes in public view in the same category that wear crocs.

I've been a Crocs hater ever since I saw the neon pink obscenity walk into my 7th period history class my sophomore year of high school (5 years ago). I know there are thousands of others who share in this brave man's opinion that not only Crocs are a fashion abomination, but also they should be piled into a huge space ship to be rocketed into the farthest reaches of the universe--never to be seen again. It's good for us that Uggs finally died out (yes ladies it's true--it's no longer OK to wear Uggs with skirts, jeans, snow pants, sweat pants, or anything else for that matter. So, just let it go.) maybe now Crocs will do the same.
And to Neatfreak who broke his/her ankle while wearing flip flops and had to make the agonizing switch to Crocs...Was it your first time walking? This is all in good fun but seriously, breaking your ankle? I could believe spraining, twisting, maybe even fracturing--but breaking? And in flip flops no less, nothing impressive like space shoes or spiked 12 in. heels--no! It was a pair of seemingly innocent flip flops. I'm sorry your immense pain has obviously rendered you psychopathic has evident by your switch to Crocs. I hope one day you will again find the light and see that Crocs have no power over you.

In closing, stay fabulous...and FAR away from Crocs.

My recommendation is to stop looking at people's feet. Why does it matter what people are wearing? You're boss could be right, do you see a therapist?

I admit it..............I have over 15 pairs of these.........I am a registered nurse who works 12 hours shifts. Crocs do not hurt my feet like sneakers do..........I buy them to match my scrubs...............anything that helps me while I am on my feet

I was appauled to read this article. The first thing I thought when I read this is "wtf". who has time to sit around and watch people walk around in crocs. I am a new nurse, I never really appreciated Crocs until I started my clinical at a nursing home and they made me wear those god awful nusing shoes. Let me tell you they were the most uncomfortable shoes I ever wore. No matter what , someones going to pass judgement on you regardless if your wearing crocs or not. I'd love for this guy to get off his butt in his little cubicle and work at a nursing home . Then he can tell me how much he hates Crocs.

Brilliant and spot from head to toe... especially the toes. Thank you for the chuckles and comfort in knowing that there are sane non-crocs people out there.

My sons are Autistic and I Thank God for CROCS everyday. Before CROCS they would never even put shoes on. They have many pairs and they do not stink! You are the type of father that angers me, teaching our youth to be rude and deiscriminate. You should be ashamed of yourself. Jen Fischer of Philadelphia, PA

I admit..........I have over 15 pairs..............only because I am a registered nurse and match them to my scrubs. My feet don't ache like they do in most tennis shoes. I work 12 hour shifts and anything to help is appreciated..............

Funny article but I still like my Crocs, though I usually don't wear them in public because they are pretty dorky looking!

  • Posted By: chatmal @ 08/05/2008 10:23:54 PM

I kept thinking Crocs were fugly too and couldn't grasp the popularity. As an environmentally minded writer on thedailygreen.com wrote, what on earth are they made of? A lot of plastics are bad and off-gas chemicals into the air and skin. And since the company won't say what they're made of, how can we know if they're even safe? Ugly, unsanitary and possibly toxic? I'd like to think those wearing them will simply die out.

  • Posted By: kittykat252008 @ 08/05/2008 10:23:45 PM

I just think that you are all jeolous because you didn't come out with the idea of crocs. You might not like crocs but other people do. So the next time that you get dress look in the mirror and say to yourself is there anything on that other people might not like and write and article on. And if you think that there is say to yourself that I LIKE IT and that IS ALL that matters. So leave the crocs alone. And I do LIKE Crocs. Power To The Crocs.

If theyre so ugly and So offensive they why are they so popular? No i dont wear crocs but many of my friends children do hey if theyre comfy who the heck cares. And they also have more colors then bright pink neon blue and "Clown" colors i have seen pple wear plain white ones. As for you and your child sitting on park bench making fun of pple who wear these shoes....How sick is that do you know how more important learning activities for your son to do? Reading, for or Playing other family oriented Games? I only posted this comment because i thought that everyone was created equal and we each also have our own indivualities and could be proud of that freedom of expression? But thats just my opinion ONE of the many o f the ones you're going to hear im sure.
