I have never liked Crocs. But after reading this article and going to the Crocs site, I think I might get me a pair. There are lots worse fashions: Front-slit skirts, nipple sweaters, "layers" where the undershirt is supposed to show when the top shirt is way too low-cut or belly-waisted -- but Crocs? It's okay if someone is comfortable and unrevealing.

As far as shoes are concerned, there are a lot more ugly shoes than crocs. Namely uggs and the girls who wear them with short short skirts. If the bright color is part of the croc problem, try looking at converse and the ugly prints on vans. I have a pair of crocs and unless I'm wearing them to walk to the pool, I have my jeans covering all but the toes up. Personally, I think there are way worse fashions than a pair of crocs.

I agree with Steve. You people are Idiots. Five years from now you'll hate yourself for buying Crocs, just as you did when you bought your pet rock. Please stop wearing crocs, spandex, and tivos with white socks - you make the the rest of us sick...

Thank you for writing this article! I've been feeling this way for years, wondering if I'm in 'bizarro world' where everyone thinks ugly is cute and cute is ugly - or in that Twilight Zone episode where the pretty lady was really ugly and all the pig people were the pretty people. How can people put these on their feet? These stupid shoes infuriate me! I'm glad I'm not alone in this.

I got a good chuckle out of the article. It only makes it better when people get offended by it. This deserves as much publicity as Hollywood gets and they fit into the same catagory IDEA's (useless but fun). I dont think culture should be used to describe this. Why not; I say! I love picking on the general public and often use them as an example for my kids; what not to do! Paris Hilton, Crocs; it's all the same, the world would be better without. If you disagree post something there's nothing like people talking about nothing to get blood moving. Especially people with bad judgement ...... I ment feet. Haha.

I think CROCS are wonderful to the weirdo that wrote this and wants to put an end to crocs let me tell you something. Its never going to happen thats about as possible as me finding you and putting an end to your face. Your Judgemental and i have a problem with it. I cant believe your son wants to be seen with you unless he looks like you because crocs look better than your face. I honestly think if you and your son dont have anything better to do than sit in the park on a bench and watch for people wearing crocs you should get a life and quit selling drugs get a job and move out of your parents house. Thanks have an awesome day!!!YOU RETARTED MONKEY.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU FOR YOUR ARTICLE! I FIRST SAW THESE CROC THINGS WHILE LIVING IN JAPAN AND THOUGHT THEY WOULD NOT LEAVE THE ISLAND EXCEPT WHEN I SAW MY FRIENDS WEARING THEM IN CA AND AM SO GROSSED OUT BY THEM AND MY FRIENDS WHO WEAR THEM. THEY ARE AS BAD AS THE SMELLY HIPPY BIRKENSTOCKS AND THE WET AND MOLDY TIVAS - NOT SURE IF IM SPELLING THESE BRANDS CORRECTLY SINCE IVE NEVER OWNED A PAIR.

I cried with joy the first time I wore my crocs. I suffer froma number of foot and knee issues, it is extremely difficult to find shoes I can walk in without agony. I am forever grateful for my crocs.

I say, keep 'em coming. The rest of us benefit by comparison -- it's not hard to look like a fashionista in a sea of anti-microbial plastic. Plus, it makes it that much easier to spot the people who've lost their minds to consumer culture. Rather than start talking to these people, only to realize they are black holes of soullessness, you can steer clear from the start. That makes my life easier!

I love crocs and I will wear them as long as I'm alive and they are available for purchase. I don't care what people think about me, my clothes, my home or anything else. Peoples opinions mean nothing to me. My comfort means alot. I will dress in whatever is comfortbale and if no one likes it, then just don't look at me. I am one of the rare people in the world that just doesn't care what people think . I am clean, comfortable, healthy, dress decent, average size , educated and make a very good living-and yes- I wear crocs!!! Shame on this writer for teaching his son to be shallow, stupid and mean. The only thing that matters about a person is their character - not what is on their feet. Idiot!!!!

oh my god. you are dumb. they are so comfortable and easy, especially for little kids. i give a pair to any kid that i know and they'll wear then all the time and nothing else. maybe if you didn't have such a foot fettish you wouldn't even notice them. i'm keeping mine, no matter what. and i'll wear them EVERYDAY if that's what it takes to shut you people up. it's not your choice what people wear. it's our own. and maybe you should treat people the way you wanna be treated.

I cried with joy the first time I wore my crocs. I suffer from a number of foot/medical issues and finding shoes I could wear without agony has been a struggle. I wear my crocs every day and I am forever thankful and grateful for them.

For all of you male Croc lovers, do you all also wear Speedo's around town? Because there really is NO DIFFERENCE.
And if you are a female and you don't mind having to see those ugly things around town, would you be so dang liberal about the men wearing Speedo's to the grocery store, the movie theaters, and to restaurants?

    I think not!

I could not agree more.I don't think some of the other people making comments understand. This is just one symptom of a problem that has many manifestations and it drives me crazy, too. At Starbucks people are ordering pie in a cup and not coffee. Most of our restaurant food is made at the chemical plant not the farm.Housewives in my area in Texas drive military vehicles (SUVs and Hummers) for no particular reason except it's what everyone else does.(I grew up on a ranch and know what they are made for and it's not for taking kids to school and going to a grocery store that's in walking distance.) The list goes on.The problem is that as a country we have lost our sense of structure, balance, taste, appropriateness and we don't think about the future.Otherwise,we would see that we are just polluting the earth as well as our bodies.I don't care really about the Crocs themselves. What I care about is the cluster of behaviors they represent.Go see Wall E. As for Kakerbell, a few more IQ points and you would GET IT.

I love my crocs. I wore them camping on the Oregon coast last week. They are wonderful for walking the beach....sand comes in .... sand goes out. Water comes in...water goes out. I love em.

Thank you!!! They really are awful. I have a friend whose pediotrist once told her to wear them and she asked him if he was joking. Only people in danger of getting blood on their shoes (nurses) should be allowed to even contemplate buying these. Oh, and I looked at the Crocs heels...they remind me of something that a third grader would think is the height of cool.

I admit it, I wanted to be one of the dorcs. I work in retail and will do anything to find a pair of comfortable shoes. However, a few years ago I saw the movie "Idiocracy". In this movie, the lower realm of the gene pool is all that have reproduced and have become incredibly stupid. And in this bleak vision of the future, all of the future morons wear scrubs and crocs. I couldn't bring myself to do it. I am ashamed of my brief stint into trendiness.

I love it! Great article, but I still wear Crocs--with socks. OMG it rhymes. Anyway. Great article and for those of you without a sense of humor--go to your room and color something.
