OK.... when you said that you dont have the to right to judge i believe that you nailed that statement. I dont wear crocs and if i did it would be what i liked to wear. And, since this is America I do believe that we have that right. And, ya need to get you and your son a new hobby.

To my dismay, a prominent French minister wore crocs in the Elysée!

I hope it isn't the beginning of a lasting trend...

hahahahaha......first off, i think that croc's are short for crock of ***..I wonder if people have any clue how dangerous and unstable they are.. i have seen to many croc related injuries. this is definatly a trend that shows who cares about there feet, and who just wants to look like they are fishing.

i would just like to say that this is the most inspiring piece of literature i have read in a long time. Much more interesting than any of Obama's tireless speeches about how we can "change" or McCain's elderly babble. Its hard to squeeze a laugh out of me but while absorbing this clever piece laughter was tumbling from my mouth.
Your writing, despite the popular *apparent* belief, is incredible. I was paging through the serious and sometimes dull newsweek until i read your response article to the comments posted about this one and felt the need to read your other work. I am excited to read your upcoming stories and hope that you continue to share your-to be thought-controversial opinions!!

Oh my goodness. I cannot express to you how immensly brilliant your article was. From the first moment I saw them (about three years ago) I have thought that CROCS were the ugliest things on the planet. I am seriously considering worshipping the ground you tread (jk, jk!) But I thought you might appreciate this:

Wow. I can't even express how immensely brilliant your article was. From thr first time I saw them (about three years ago) to the present, CROCS have seemed stupid and even... clunky, to me. I am seriously considering worshipping the ground you tread at the moment (jk, jk) but seriously, I thought you might appreciate this:

This was pretty funny. I think the next issue you tackle is those people who like to wear "house shoes with socks" in public. What do you think about that? As far a Crocs go, they are cute for kids and maybe for the garden - but for $30 a pop I will pass to the "fake crocs". I still don't have any - refer to how miuch they cost - yet. I can't bring myself to buy them. I can't believe that CROCS donated their shoes with holes in them to provide shoes for countries were people need them. I think CROCS should have donated portion of their sales to buy people supportive tennis shoes that cover their feet and keep them safe from dirt, debris, and bugs......gee whiz!

At last its good to see the issue of these awful shoes being raised in a serious arena! Can you come over to England and tackle TopShop next please? England will thank you!

OK - so they're not the most beautiful shoe to look at! Who cares?! Has anyone thought about the hundreds - no THOUSANDS - of people that are now wearing Crocs that were donated and distributed by organizations throughout the world to people that may never had worn shoes in the first place? Children in foreign lands now have protection for their feet when they walk to school - or walk to the creek for water or go fishing for food to help feed their families. Parents now have protection for their feet as well. Get a grip people - it's not all bad. At least Crocs is doing something worthwhile instead of sitting around judging other people based on what kind of shoe they're wearing!

Without having read this article before I read your latest, I truly had not comprehended the point your latter article, written in response to the numerous comments you received for this one. But now I do. It is now obvious how comments for this article could have ranged from calling you brilliant and marriage proposals to outright insults. Therefore, kudos on a job well done. I have not laughed so many times during an article for a very, very long time! Your article truly is brilliant!

I wore them once to see what all the fuss was about, and I don't get it. It feels just the same as any other shoes. I think it's just a psychological factor. People tell you it feels more comfortable so you believe that it's more comfortable when really, it's not. Plus, they're ugly. Who thought of putting those holes on top of the shoes anyhow? They also make your feet stink. Seriously, my brother wears a pair and his feet stink like something fierce. Go on, smell your feet after wearing them for just one week.

I love this article and really love the one in this week's magazine.

Not too long ago, I noticed a woman walking around my office wearing these awful black shoes and thought to myself "I think she forgot to take off her gardening clogs before coming to work". Needless to say I was horrified that I soon starting seeing these shoes everywhere, even on the feet of some of my beloved family members.

They spent so much time trying to convince me that they were comfortable that I gave in and tried on my uncle's pair (what can I say, I have big feet). After walking from the living room to the kitchen, I realized that my beloved family members must have been under some sort of rubber-induced hypnosis because my feet were already hurting, not to mention already perspiring.

    DOWN WITH CROCS!

Not that long ago, I noticed a woman at work wearing these awful black rubber shoes around the office. I just figured she forgot to take off her gardening clogs before coming to work. To my horror, I soon began seeing these shoes everywhere, including on the feet of members of my own family. Matters were only made worse when they started ordered ones online with Mickey-Mouse shaped holes and then filling the holes in all of them with cheap little pins.

I just read your article for this week and I'm soarly disappointed in your writing. I was about to shut Newsweek because I was tired of the Obama story yet again when I saw the ugly bright pink shoe and decided to read. To understand it fully I decided to read last weeks story. I laughed so hard at work that someone came and checked to see what was so funny...they were wearing the purple version...I just laughed more. Thank you for your stand on these ugly shoes I look forward to your next article no matter what it is on.
