Your poor, poor child............ I mean it's cool that u have ur lil' game and all but why would u allow yourself to talk negatively about a group of people with ur kid ????? Your teaching prejudice and that's never cool. Why not tell him to each his own, so they want to wear Crocs who gives a ***. The National Nightmare is people like you teaching hate to their children because of a pair of shoes, GROW UP !

YES. I HATE THEM SO MUCH.
Everyone that wears them looks like a complete idiot. I do not care if celebrities started wearing them on the red carpet (...they haven't have they?), I WILL STILL NOT WEAR THEM.
I can understand why people who can't wear a lot of different shoes for medical reasons wear them... but people that are perfectly alright need to realize how stupid they look..

You know, they don't look good, but they sure are comfortable especially to be around the house. Having a tile floor, flip flops are not good for your back, and Crocs make it much more comfortable. But you know what? Yes, I do wear them around the house and the only times I wear them in public is when I go to the beach or an amusement park that has water rides-- this is actually the reason my kids, husband and I got our one and only pairs after getting my brand new sneakers wet on a ride at Six Flags. They are only a fad that will continue for the rest of this decade, like every other fad in previous decades, but at least Crocs are comfortable. In the decade of the 20-teens, we will all be looking back and laughing at what we used to wear on our feet in the previous decade. But at least I can say, "I wore those, and they were comfortable.

This idiot has no life...Who takes their kid to go sit on a bench and plays some stupid game not allowing his son to get up until they've counted enough crocs...There is more pro-active activities you could be doing with your son instead of teaching the poor little bastard how to grow up and be a parent with no parenting skills like yourself. ARE YOU SERIOUS...YOU REALLY DO THAT....AND YOUR COMPLAINING ABOUT A FAD.....LOOKS LIKE THERES 2 KID SITTING ON A BENCH....u and your son are a complete waste of space

Hey, that is rude calling the author and his son a complete waste of space. It is just a silly game they play. My daughter and I like to sit on a bench and watch cars go by and pretend that every third car belongs to us - it can be very funny in Montana - sometimes the third vehicle to go by is a tractor, sometimes a Hummer or a fancy sports car. Mostly mini-vans, pickups and SUVs though. So what do you people think of the "Smart 4two" car? It is kind of funny looking - some people think it is hideous, I think it is sort of cute in an ugly way. LOL Some things are so ugly they are cute, not Crocs though - they really are ugly and uncomfortable. I don't care how many people say they are comfortable, I cannot agree. My feet are extremely picky about support. I prefer Teva sandals but would like to try some sandals I saw recently that are a work out type of sandal, Victoria Secret had some - they look very comfortable and more supportive than my Tevas, which really are too flat for me.

What you and your daughter do is totally different than what he is teaching his son. That is so wrong teaching your kids to label people like that. Why do you think there is so much hate in this world. Try teaching your kids to respect other peoples opinions and differences

Are you aware that the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, not the Germans? Just wondering. . .

Are you aware of the extremely famous movie "Animal House?" Guess not.

are you aware the author was quoting John Belushi? Hence the author's use of quotation marks!

I love my crocs too. Screw you. I am hear to say that soon as somebody makes a more comfortable shoe, I will switch to that shoe (provided it doesn't cost an arm and a leg). I am on my feet most of the day and I am here to testify that I have never found a better shoe. If you work on your feet and you don't have to wear a construction boot, you are doing yourself a disservice by not wearing them. Bad shoes lead to foot, ankle, knee, hip and low back pain, but I have not had any of these problems since I started wearing them. Sometimes I realize I am still wearing them at 11:30 at night. For me, function above form.

To winedudetim: Individuality?? You must be kidding me. Because I most certainly can't think of a better expression of my own special individuality than donning a pair of crocs and looking like every other middle american dumbass. There are plenty of other "comfirtable" things to wear on my feet besides something that 80% of people in any given Walmart are all walking around in. Keep wearing your crocs and tricking yourself into believing that you're an individual.

HURRAY! I was at a festival this weekend and it was the first time I noticed that a MAJORITY of parents at this festival made all their kids wear crocs. Poor, impressionable children! And the REALLY wacked parents joined their kids. At least theirs didn't have the little bees and flowers and ladybugs in the holes.

I'm so happy for this article.

Yes!!!! This was by far one of the best articles I have read in the last five years! Passion, intellect, and true humanity towards this social destructive fad. I couldn't agree more with the writer. Yes, we are to walk a mile in another mans shoes, and let me tell you i have in this regard, crocs are ridiculous. I grew up being told that we are to take pride in how we look out of respect for others. How are freakishly bright plastic shoes respecting those around us. All we are saying is please keep them at home!!! I plea guilty to future accounts at which you may find me starring at Crocs in public, its like driving by an accident on the freeway, everyone can't help but slow down and stare.

Its amazing how the medical community, who is on their feet all day praise Crocs! I love them! Awesome for people with bad feet who cant wear no support flip flops or go barefoot !!! Your article was too lengthy for me to take the time to read but if you havent tried them....by no means should you be knocking them. They may be ugly but their addicting!

If I wanted to read poorly written, overly opinionated diddlings on irrelevant topics, I'd go to one of the blogs you cite in your article. This is a waste of space on what I though was a decent website. There are too many pertinent issues facing the global community for your personal rants to receive the front page micro-headlines they do.
