maybe you should try the real ones, and not the ones from pro bass shops haha

I am a teacher and take full offense: I would never, ever, even think of wearing Crocs in public or at home. They're awful! I think the last sentence in the second paragraph should be retracted... we see Crocs every day on children, and (though they're slightly better on children, I think), we are well aware of the fad and how bad it is. There are only a few teachers (really, just a few) I know who don Crocs, and they're the same ones wearing cutesy vests and teddy bear sweaters that give us a bad name too. Boo, Crocs, and Boo blanketing all teachers in your critique! (Though I did think the rest of it was great... and that's just the teacher in me ending with positive feedback.) ;)

omg, if your old enough to have a son, then i think its time you grow the hell up...who gives a *** if ppl want to look like dorks? Obviously we dont care what ppl think about us because we have a high enough self of steam to not let it bother us. yes i have a pair but i dont really wear them cause i dont especially LOVE them but who cares if other people do? Seriously, i think you would be heart broken if crocs were gone becase YOU would have nothing to BITCH about...get a life and let people live theirs.

I hat the fact that people are congratulating him for "spending time with his son." Well there are right ways and wrong ways to spend time with your kid, and in my "opinion" what he is teaching his son is definitely the wrong way. Don't force your "opinion" on kids, let them make there own. So what if they have a different one than you, that's what makes everybody an individual.

i totally agree with strongnsturdy, teach your son some manners, just like you hate croc wearers, i hate breeders who have no business having children, now why don't you go buy him an extra value meal, a ps3, a gun, and seal the deal. you're a statistic.

P.S. That was a waste of twenty dollars!

This article is hilarious and should be taken for what it is: tongue-in-cheek. What's really funny (and sad) is reading some of these people's comments. Who would have thought some stupid shoes (yes, they look stupid) would elicit such passion and hatred? Some folk really do need to get a life, and I'm not referring to Mr. Tuttle!

I bought the crocks - under a different name but the same thing. The comfort was unbelievable, however, after just a few weeks I noticed that my right one was really weird looking. I guess i don't walk like a "normal" person. There wasn't enough support and my foot had made a new sole print with the outer part of my foot walking on the shoe, not the sole.. So, fashion faux pas or whatever, they might just not be good for your feet. LOL

Retarded article... This is the worst article I've read in a long time. Newsweek should be ashamed of even posting this worthless retarded crap in the first place. This guy obviously has no clue what he is talking about, post this under Misc.. but sure as hell not under Fasion.
No one cares what you think, and even more, you've lost a lot of readers of your pointless articles now. I don't even wear Crocs and I know this is the most retarded article ever posted.

Yes, I will use the word "retarded" instead of "mentally challenged." This article is not mentally challenged, it's simply RETARDED! The author is one of the mentally challenged... Good parenting skills there retard

    that one I meant

I think that crocs were made for children to wear and not grown adults. I can see how the bright bold colors can attrack a yound childs imgination and even more the decoration that can be put on them. . I do agree that they are not suitable for adults. My two year old son wears his crocadile rain boots with pair of shorts, but does that mean that an adult should wear them because they are comfortable or even cute in their own way?

this is just another way to put people down which look different., dress different or do things different than you, because you have nothing better to do but sit around and criticize people. stop hating on folks ---because of how you feel about yourself. its just like a person wanting to die, but feels he needs to take a few other folks with him.

My skidmarked whitey tightys are really comfortable but I hope you all don't want to see me walking around in them. Crocs are for tools

wow, do you have a lot to look forward to. remember(if your old enough) the big dorky Earth shoes? well the company name has resurfaced and is now making several lines of footwear for women, children, and even a couple for men. or how about the Teva sandals and their 10K+ look alike relatives? i guess that your only saving grace is that by counting croc-wearing people he will remember what they were and the time spent looking, kinda like checking license plates on the great annual family vacation. how does a child spell happiness? TIME! oh, and by the way i happen to own two pair of crocs myself and my son has one. we wear them as camp shoes when hiking in the mountains or fishing at the local lake due to the light weight and packability. i'm sure that if crocs made a hhunting boot we would probably try those out too.

Well, instead of wasting your time writing a pointless report about an "endless plague" maybe you should be helping to END Global Warming. This stupid report doesn't help at all with ANYTHING. It didn't help end the supposedly horrible fad, it didn't help teach your son some manners and it DEFINETLY didn't help end Global Warming. So stop complaining about some stupid outrageous fad that WILL be over in the next decade and start doing something constructive by planting some trees or even teaching your son a thing or two about respect and language!

I totally and wholheartedly agree with the writer...even though some individuals may take this a bit more seriously than it was probably intended to be taken.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, unfortunately, that extneds over into the fashion world, as well and I don't know how much longer my eyes can take this total and utter fashion catastrophe!

While I don't think we should all be wearing the same things as Tyler.Durden so sarcastically put it, but I do get the point that Mr. Tuttle is making and I agree. We have become a society that has lost something. It is NOT ok to wear anything you want at any time and make the agrument that it is all in the name of comfort. I get more respect when I actually look nice. Now I am the kind of person who wears 3' heals almost everyday and a skirt, not because I have to but because I want to and I don't own sweat paints or crocks, because when you look good you feel good and HATE that I have to look at you in yours because your too D#%m lazy. So yes crocks and things that bring our society down should be nixed.

Wow...It is nice to see that someone cares so much about what people wear on their feet and so little about his son's views on people. I would not be at all proud of my child calling anyone a dork because of what they wear. After reading the article I think Mr. Tuttle and his son both have a pair of bright yellow Crocs on themselves. They just find joy in judging others. I myself wear Crocs on a daily basis. I am in the medical field and work in a hospital. It is not my shoe of choice for going out, but they are perfect when you are on your feet all day at work. Mr. Tuttle should take all this into consideration before writing such a ridiculous/non-factual article.

Amen. I'm so glad there are people with manners and common sense.
