I have plantar fasciitis, it's a chronic arch/foot problem. Crocs makes a shoe (Crocs RX relief) specifically for folks like me. I am sorry but in the Summer I cannot wear flip flops or other sandals because of my plantar fasciitis, I am doomed to proper fitting athletic shoe with a special orthotic insert...Until Crox RX relief. Yes they are ugly as sin but why does it matter to YOU what I am wearing? I am finding relief and comfort from a medical condition. Get a life lady.

I am in total agreement with the author, I to have the same obsessiveness when it comes to these awful shoes that look like multicolored roaches! I was quite alright with them when only gardners and nurses where wearing them but somewhere it got out of control. And no, they are not cute on kids because they look even dirtier (yuk) so bravo and Crocs off to you!

You were right, you are the dork! What's wrong with people wearing what is comfirtable and showing their individuality? Feel free to weear your Top Siders and try to look preppy, we Crocs people will be having fun without you.

Some of the safety issues with Crocs seems to not make the news often. They may be nice for the medical industry...but there have been numerous cases of kids riding on escalators that have had their feet pulled under the brushes on the sides. Those cleaning brushes can catch on the rubber and pull their foot into the mechanism itself. Luckily there have only been severe scraping incidents and nothing worse, but be warned (especially with children) the material can be easily latched onto.

GO blkie!!! you tell him. I cannot believe i wasted my time READING this pointless article!! if you are going to try to get together to get rid of something make it something worthwhile, like guns or alcohol. Why are you teaching your children to judge people because they wear comfortable shoes?? 1 last thing, they aren't hurting you. you don't have wear them but don't judge other people for wearing them. and you are never going to "get rid of them" if the people who like them don't let you. that is why we live in America, because we have the freedom to wear what we choose among other things. Remember that the next time your smallmindedness makes you think that because you don't like something that no one should be able to do it or wear it.

Hey, if you don't like em, don't look. To those of us who are on our feet all day, they are a godsend. If a different shoe comes out that are just as comfortable, I'll switch. Until then, I will wear them and HA, yes I can get laid anytime I want.

While as an adult I can't get into the Croc's fad, as a mom I want to KISS the inventor...finally a pair of shoes that slide easily onto my chubby little toddlers feet, finally a pair of shoes that my 4 year old can put on himself and jump in water without a soggy tennis shoe, finally a pair of shoes I can throw in the washing machine without worrying about them falling apart when I take them out. Give up the ranting, if you don't like them...don't wear them...I don't. But my children sure do!!

Wow! Can you say "issues?" This is worse than road rage...and just as pointless. If people are comfortable wearing ugly shoes (and I don' think they're really that bad), just let them be. And if you don't like the way it looks, don't look! It's very simple.

I must say I thought they were the most hideous shoes I have ever seen, I thought, "How dare they ask such a high price on something so ugly!" Well, I took on a second hand job at Macy's and through the agony of my feet hurting, I went over the the shoe department on break and bought a pair! They are soooooo, comfortable! I wore them home and my kids were like..."Mom, I can't even believe you have those on your feet!" So next time just think most people have them on their feet for comfort and not style. Try a pair on yourself, you might be surprised!

You were right, you are the dork! People should be free to show their individuality and sense of fun. We can't all wear Top-Siders. :<(

Wow I can't believe I'm posting again but some of these others just make me laugh so much I can't stand it. For all of you that say he's teaching his kids to be judgemental and then calling him a 'snob' or a 'dumb ass', really made a lot of sense. You are all hypocrites who are only defending these damn things because you KNOW they're ugly and are trying to give every excuse or reason for wearing them you can think of to support YOUR opinion. I have no idea how these things got so huge, but people...you're right it's just a shoe. I think the editor was trying to be more humorous in his opinion than offensive. I just love how people take this kind of stuff so personally like it was a direct cut at THEM. And lets be honest, most of you did NOT buy them for comfort, you just bought into a fad that is going to be looked and laughed at in years to come and then we can all laugh about it like big hair-sprayed bangs or parachute pants. Stop being so sensitive. Maybe it was too soon Steve. hahaha.

I admit they do look a little odd and I would never wear them myself (not really into plastics) but I know a lot of orthopedically challenged folks of a certain age who swear by them--they might look like ***, but they're the most comfortable and supportive shoe that can be had at a reasonable price--and these are green folks who recycle and wouldn't be caught dead with a Dorito. And, despair not, they do eventually die--my orthopedically challenged albeit very active sister finally killed hers after 2 years of gardening, hiking and cleaning houses and now is in the market for another pair.

I just heard about Crocs last week from a friend who insisted I try his on and walk around in them for awhile. I seriously walked half a block in them and wanted a pair. They weren't the lame ones that look like clogs either, they look just like flip flops but the inner sole is shaped like my foot and really comfortable. CrocHatah here needs to at least try the shoe before writing an article like this. Go pick up some indestructable flip flops (Ive personally destroyed many pairs) and retract this whiney dribble you just posted.

I am a fan of Crocs, as dorky as this man may feel that is. They are easy to keep clean, cheap to buy and therefore replace when they are worn out, and they are very comfortable. As for letting your child call people dorks based on what they wear, that is immature and a worse lesson learned than saying it's ok to wear Crocs that, to you and almost exclusively you, feel look like clown shoes. Learning to judge people on clothing is far worse than wearing something that isn't as "fashionable" or "normal" or whatever the case may be. If you want to put an end to something, make it something valuable. This fashion fad will die with every other fad. Until then, just calm down and stop being so critical of people who have different taste than you do.

Uh.. a sense of humor some say.... WHY IS THIS garbage HEADLINE news!? There...humor......

You really have time to follow a website about hating crocs? To each his own. Didn't your mother ever teach you that if you have nothing nice to say then don't say it at all? I don't own a pair of crocs, and yes I do think they look a little silly but I would never judge someone else for liking them. My 2 yr old likes them and she has no idea that they are such a fad. She just likes them. So my suggestion to you would be to quit wasting your energy on judging people for what they wear and do something more productive with your time.

You are completely right on so many levels. The first time I saw those absurd things I thought that they would be gone in a year. They are still around though. It is so much worse to see a guy wearing them as well. The neighborhood I live in in Philly is great, I really love it there. But, if I could never see a guy with a moustache, no other facial hair and wearing skinny cut off jean shorts and crocs...I would be a happy girl.

PS - All of the idiots that are opposed to this article are retarded. It is a country of free speach, that's why this article can be published, laughed about, and used in conversation.

Disagreeing isn't "opposing". Since the comment section is generally for people to state their responses to articles, and we're just as free to disagree with him as he is to post his opinion in the first place, I don't see where the problem is. It's all opinion, so the only right or wrong is what works for each individual.

I am a little surprised to find out that people care so much about what other people enjoy. I own only one pair of knock off crocs,. I would never spend the money that is being asked for these odd looking shoes. I use my shoes only when I irrigate my yard, and I would like to let you all know that they are wonderful. I also choose to buy knock off crocs for my small children. They are comfortable, light and airy and easy for them to put on and take off alone. My children may look dorky, but they are happy cause their feet aren't driving them crazy and I am happy because I have the time back I use to spend putting on and taking off shoes. I just wish that there was a more basic color selection.
