Who cares, spend your time on problems that really matter. Reading this article was less productive than sitting on a bench looking for crocs...

Crocs never bothered me until the people I worked with in a nursing home started telling me how comfortable they were and hounded me to get some for myself. I thought they were ugly, and didn't want to, but I thought I should have an open mind, maybe they were as great as they said they were. I tried on a pair of bright pink ones that gagged me. I walked three feet and off they came, I have never put on another pair. They are too flat, no arch support at all. If I wore them for an extended period of time, they would kill my feet, and maybe even give me corns. I don't know how anyone can wear them. I was very relieved when the man who owns the nursing home where I was working made a "no Croc" rule on grounds that they do not give proper support to the feet and can cause you to trip and get injured when in a hurry. They could still wear them to give showers, as shoes get wet doing this - I thought that was a good place for them. I still would not wear them even to give someone a shower or in my garden. I wear hiking boots in my garden - I like to dig with a shovel and I don't think a Croc would last the way I jump on my shovel, I'd go through 4 or 5 pairs in a month. I heard that most of the hospitals and nursing homes have banned them because they are bad for the feet. I am not sure if that is true or not, but it would not surprise me. I really don't care what other people choose to wear on their feet, as long as they don't try pushing their bad choice of foot wear on me, which I found most Croc wearers seem to do, they seem to have a mission to get everyone to wear them.

I think they are a CROC because what do you do when they break? they are not able to be recycle the shoes, because of the material they are made of.. so now what? we fill our landfills with tires and rubber made tubs now we are adding crappy over priced rubber shoes to the landfills as well

I too used to make fun of anyone who wore Crocs... However, as ugly as they may be, they are the most comfortable shoes ever. Try the Santa Cruz Crocs... a bit more fashionable. Ugly:Yes Comfortable: Very.

-I thought this was a GREAT article!!! We all need to find humor in things like this every now and then. We need to be able to laugh at ourselves more as well as others and not take ourselves so seriously. My entire office got a a kick out of it, it was a nice way to give us all a good laugh. CROCS are atrocious even if they are comfy!!! We all wear things others don't agree with or like, learn to laugh more! Geez!

This IS America..home of free speech. So don't knock the man for expressing an opinion (which eveyrone posting a comment on here is) Does anyone feel hypocritical...judging and CRITICIZING this man on his hatred for Crocs? I personally wear heels everyday and they kill my feet so I am one to appreciate shoes of comfort. But, in turn, I also think if they can make comfortable shoes on the inside, they can make them stylish on the outside. I agree with Mr. Tuttle on this one (although he can express hisself much more creatively than I). And I don't know about anyone else...but in my opinion the whole idea of STYLE is not to conform but to have some originality for crying out loud. I would not wear them...A-because more people wear these than they do jeans and B-they hold no style value whatsoever. So enjoy being a human being - embrace your feelings and DO YOU. -tc-

Funny article! I completely agree that the basic clog-style croc is a crock of bad fashion sense. However, they now offer a whole bunch of really fashionable and comfortable styles. I've received a lot of compliments from people who are shocked to hear they are indeed Crocs.

For those of you who are familiar with World War II know that yes America was fighting the Germans. However it was not the Germans that bombed Pearl Harbor it was the JAPANESE. Wow you would think that an editor would see something like that and change it but obviously if you have nothing better to do than complain about Crocs you wouldn't be smart enough to know the difference between Germany and Japan. I mean i'm only a senior in high school and i found that they are wrong so it isn't too hard to find especially when you are getting paid to make sure an article is historically, and grammatically correct!!!!!!!!!!!! DUMBASSES they are shoes and if someone wants to wear them becasue they like em then let them its not you is it??? yeah exactly. stop arguing over something you guys have TOTALLY no control over. Plus it is AMERICA LAND OF THE FREE!!!!!

This idiot has no life...Who takes their kid to go sit on a bench and plays some stupid game not allowing his son to get up until they've counted enough crocs...There is more pro-active activities you could be doing with your son instead of teaching the poor little bastard how to grow up and be a parent with no parenting skills like yourself. ARE YOU SERIOUS...YOU REALLY DO THAT....AND YOUR COMPLAINING ABOUT A FAD.....LOOKS LIKE THERES 2 KID SITTING ON A BENCH....u and your son are a complete waste of space

I wish someone would write a rant about shoes that are viewed by the public as being chic and fashionable but hurt your feet - which would include Manolos and Jimmy Choos. High heeled shoes are simply the Western equivalent of the ancient Asian practice of foot binding. Viva les Crocs!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Agreed thoroughly... A very bad fashion sense, but these are the same people that loves reality t.v. shows, gossip magazines, and P.T. Chryslers (had to get that off my chest)... Bad taste runs in the water....

I admit crocks are not pretty to look at, but take it from someone who is on their feet for 18-20 hrs. a day, by hour 10 you don't really care what the shoe looks like as long as your feet don't hurt. Crocks are very comfortable, but everyone has a right to their own opion, but try on a pair first and walk a mile.

I am a dorky Crocs wearer, I own the tan Crocs with the liner ,however, I do not stuff the "sweat holes" with Jibbitz. I found your story to be quite humorous and mostly true! I see other's wearing them(including my family members) and I think OMG they are so ugly! But... I have to tell you, they are by far the most comfortable shoe i have ever worn. Other posters who have posted here clearly take a life a little too seriously to be offended by your story, it's nice to read a light hearted article! Thank you.

What a waste of bandwidth. And he jerk is teaching his child to be arrogant and snide, just like him. As if we need more people like that in the world. I'll bet he's just bitter because he invested in Crocs stock too late and lost money.
