I have been a Croc basher from the start. I can honestly say every time one of my friends bought a pair I laughed in their face at the waste of money on such UGLY shoes. My best friend is a nurse and was on the Croc haters list until a coworker gave her a pair. She fell in love and bought more. So I took her advice and bought a pair. I HATED them! I mean do you wear them with socks or without? what if it rains?? So I gave the bright pink abominations away. Now a year and a half later I am the owner of imitation Crocs. They are designed with no slip bottoms and I actually purchased them through a restaurant uniform type magazine. There are no holes in them and they are solid black. Most people have no idea I am wearing Crocs (or Croc style) shoes and I will never admit to any friends that I love these shoes! So I am still a Croc hater. But it is only towards the bright colored, swiss cheese style piles that people seem to love so much.

There could be a world like that if everybody would stop writing stories like this one!!!

He IS instilling the best value of all - spending time with his kid talking about the world. How do you think the important issues get solved? The great problem with America (besides obesity) is the lack of fathers in our childrens' lives. I can't imagine anything more educational than a dad sitting at a park talking about the world with his kid. Think I will take my daughter for walk to the park right now. 10 crocs minimum before we leave the park? Any bonus points for the funny phone things that people have shoved in their ears? Definitely...

I guess you've never worn them if you are bashing them like this. I know from personal experience that when I work all day standing for 99% of the time My feet are not throbbing at the end of the day, as with other shoes. and who cares what they look like. I use to hate what they looked like but who really cares. Us Croc fans will continue to ware them.

i totally agree with 2boysmom why should you care! If your gonna get rid of crocs, why don't we just get rid of those Chanel Oxfords that your most likely wearing right now, it's not like those things are unique in any way. I am proud to say Ive worn crocs before because it means Im not scared to wear something thats not exactly like the next guy.

Sorry people who take offense so easily but I got a kick out of this. He's a person who has every right to write whatever he wants whether or not you approve. Its his opinion and if you dont like it to bad, get over it. You say he has no life, and blah blah but you are takeing the time to respond back so I guess many of us have no life? Wouldnt it be so nice if everybody at every minute of the day could write about something important that could change and make the world a better place, reality check , the world doesnt work like that. Personaly I dont like them so I wont buy them but Im not gonna tell anybody else not to it's your money do what you want with it.

The most ridiculous thing about the whole article is you letting your kid make fun of people. Maybe you should stop worrying so much about what style shoes people wear and start worrying more about what you are teaching your kids.

This is absolutely hilarious! I work in a shoe department, I can't tell you how many times I've heard "do you sell Crocs here" and every time I say no , they just walk off. It's soooo annoying to see them and to clean up the "fake" ones by Skechers. I just want to throw them all away every time we get a shipment of those because seeing the real ones on everyone is annoying enough but seeing them where I work at and selling them is too much!!

I think this is hysterical and you have served your son well. Crocs are NURSE shoes, not a fashion statement and for this reason I will never buy in to this fashion trend. I'm going to teach my daughter to hold her stomach in as to avoid a gut even if guts on women become fashionable. Usually there is a difference between attractive and comfortable, I'm voting for attractive whether it is a pair of Crocs or a flat tummy.

I completely agree. Ever since those atrocious... Things came out, I've thought to myself, "Those won't last long". But the damned things are still around. Makes me further question the intelligence of people. Oh and... A huge lol to the the person who typed in all caps, has a lacking in punctuation and spelling education and supports this abomination (apologies for the rhyming accident). I'm a 22 year old woman, and I hated Crocs since I saw the stupid things. They look like something an elderly woman would wear while gardening. Once, I saw a middle-aged man wearing them...ick.

I think the only true way to spot a dork is to be one..and needless to say anyone who spends his lifetime obsessing over hating a pair of shoes is the king of dorks. Haven't you ever heard the quote, "To each his own." This is America and I'm gonna use what little freedom I have left to wear what shoes I choose to. LMAO I hate crocs too. I hate that my mom bought my daughter the Crocs, over 25 bux for a size 10 kids shoe that make you look like a clown. And she just got some that flash lights on the heel..... Well at least he put it out there that they are ugly and if I met some guy with the crocs on...he is not getting laid from me I know that.
