This is the best article I have read in a while. I, too, have found myself playing the Croc game with my kids. And the author's son is right, if you look around for some dorks, you will probably find them wearing a pair. I guess the real point of the story is - if you don't want people to think you are a dork, DON'T wear Crocs out in public!!

Have we become so lazy that we feel that rubber shoes are the only acceptable option? We are a society of sweatpants and ill-fitting shirts. There is no reason that we cannot put on a pair of decent pants and a shirt without stains and holes. I say to the people of America, if we can rid the country of sandals with socks, we can certainly rid the world of Crocs!

i dont wear crocs, but just reading this article sure makes you look like a dumb a$$.
who are you to sit there and write this article ridiculing peoples shoes style. And why any one would write and actually get this crap published here, its just amazing get a life your the dork because you probably spent days writing this nonsense crap that is just plain OPINION...
and who teaches that kind of judgement to their children... seriously how old is he 5
let him make his own opinion, the only reason he is saying that is because he hears you constantly complain about the crocs... FREAK get a life

okay.. I got the point the first few paragraphs.. why did it take you two pages to write that you hate crocs? Personally who gives a ***? I mean we have other things to be concerned about that some ugly slab of rubber that people call crocs and where on their feet and you hate them so much that you had to go and write about.. next time finish it in one page and write about something that really matters like gas prices, the sorry ass president, or something that will mean something tomorrow not something that was of yesterday.

I think maybe this has gone too far. The issue at hand is not so relative to what type of shoes people are wearing, as it is to the amazing things people find the need to know aboutand talk about. A popular fad, the latest hot color lipstick, what Britaney's up too, these things are pumped into us by paid media, while polar bears become endangered, and global warming makes our climates unbarable, and landfill's become land-filled-ups, stupid things like this pop up to divert our attention because what is a country without it's faithfull oh-so-trusting citizens who don't even know what district they live in when they go to vote?
I have to say, seriously, if this author is merely worried about what kinds of shoes his son thinks are "dorkey" (which they really are), and not so much about what values and morals are instilled in him by media, video games, tv & movies, as well as his own actions, which we all know are louder then words, then they must live an incredably "blissfull" life. Instead of the 'dorks' game, try the pick up trash game, where you take a little bag up the street with you and pick up pieces of trash along the way. Count them as you go and see if there's less tomorrow. Or how about this... see how long it takes to replace all your lightbulbs with energy saver bulbs, that could be a fun race. Things are starting to get stupidly out of hand, and the only way to stop this insanity is to educate our children not to be blind and to take action.

OH MY GOD! Shut the hell up! Who the hell can go on for two pages about a single pair of shoes! It's amazing that this guy ever got laid, let alone married! And HE'S busting on people for un-lay-able characteristics? Wow! "Blah blah blah. Those shoes are ugly! Blah Blah Blah. My kid if funny. Blah blah blah." Where was this guy when bell-bottoms were the rage? Get a freakin' life!

How disgusting. I can't believe you would teach this kind of judgment to your kid. I personally do not own a pair of crocs, but i don't flip out when I see a pair or two. I seriously think you need a doctor for your Crocs complex. If you don't like them, then don't wear them. Dumb a$$

The crocs high heels are great. They are the only shoes with heels I have been able to wear all day long. As it is necessary for me to "dress" at work, I am grateful to have found them!!

  • Posted By: anti-PC @ 08/05/2008 1:23:13 PM

I agree with you completely, but in my circle that's just fuel to go buy some. the next time you see a pair on a punk kid, know that "i dress this way to bother you."

. . aggravating the easily annoyed since '83? I'm laughing my 'Crocs' off, and I think I just cracked a rib! Wow, priceless!

I am laughing so hard at the fact that anyone could be so effected by what other people choose to WEAR! I mean forget the second hand smoke, let's tolorate all those curse words around our childrens ears, and definately tolorate and encourage all the half naked billboards in malls and at stop lights, but those "crock shoe people," they have REALLY crossed the line! I don't even own any, and to be honest, as a non-owner, I don't tend to look for people who do. I am amzed there are web sights for this. Hmmmm......I don't like houses painted pink.....maybe I should start a web sight about it.......ya, there's a noble cause, right up there with crock bashin'! YeeeHaw!

Crocs are absolutely ridiculous - and for you morons who claim that "comfort" is reason enough to sport them, I want to remind you of how uncomfortable most clothes are. Nothing is worse than wearing a tie and jacket to the office in the summer months, but I can assure you that my company cares about everything I wear, and I will continue to have be a little uncomfortable at times.
In fact, as a male, I love to scrath certains areas from time to time. It feels a whole-lot-better than wearing Crocs too. Yet when I'm out in public, you can bet your ugly shoes that you will not see me with a ball-in-hand.
And how about it everyone was to just decide to not wear clothes at all. I mean, who cares what others think - right? And being naked is certainly much more comfortable than wearing clothes. Then again, I would much rather see a bunch of over-weight people bare their tail-weathers than have to see another pair of Crocs.

I have nothing against Crocs or people dislike Crocs, and I do not (not plan to) own a Crocs. But I don't see any persuasive reason besides the subjective fashion aspects. I am kinda agree with your editor's comment expect I would take out the "somewhat."

...and seeing a boy or girls underwear showing from atop of the jeans they wear 10 sizes too large so that the crotch hangs at their knees is OK? I can't believe I wasted 2 minutes of my life reading the article and then writing this!!

This may be one of the best articles ever written about crocs. There is nothing worse than a group of people ranting about how great they are- they are freakin hideous and how can people that wear them not get it??? I just met a guy and on our second date he wore them out- no third date scheduled- well not until he burns them.....
