ARE YOU KIDDING ME? THIS PERSON OBVIOUSLY DOESN'T HAVE A LIFE TO WRITE THIS NOW WHOS THE DORK? YES I FINISHED READING IT BECAUSE ITS ONE OF THOSE THINGS WHERE YOU DON'T WANNA LOOK BUT YOU GOT TOO. THERE ARE WAY MORE IMPORTANT ISSUES TO DISPLAY YOUR OPINION THAN ABOUT A PAIR OF SHOES. LOOK I DON'T EVEN OWN A PAIR OF CROCS BUT I DON'T SEE ANYTHING WRONG WITH THEM, I'M TOO BUSY JUST TO SIMPLY GO OUT AND BUY A PAIR BUT NOW I'M READY TOO TO JUST KEEP THEM GOING BECAUSE OF THIS GUY!

this article was hilarious. i hate crocs as well- they are not aesthetically pleasing, and i have doubts about their "function" of keeping the feet odorless. i work at a school, i know for a fact that's a lie.
if you want to throw the "people are smart enough to make a sensible decision and wear what comfort dictates rather than fashion" line around, remember that a beautiful design (yes, even of a shoe) does not cancel out comfort. both can be found. i think the creators of Crocs forgot that detail.

I live in NJ. I'm leaving next week for my 5th annual trip to Colorado. The 1st time I ever saw these things was in 2002 on my 1st trip to Denver. Few people were wearing them but I had a strongly forboding feeling that they were about to become more popular than bell-bottoms in 1967. I wondered how anyone could go out in public looking like that! I soon came to realize that people in Colorado are significantly more open minded than in NJ, but even so... Then I saw them in a Denver area store and discovered that they were $25 a pair. I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT! Why would anyone pay $25 dollars to wear psychadelic gollashes?

do they not see through things said in jest?

My boys 10, 8,and 6 started wearing CROCS when they first came out my 6 year old will only wear sneakers
on P.E days at school. He has 6 different colors. Everyone has their right to wear what they like but to teach
your child to make fun of people is very sad. You should be ashamed as a parent..

Okay if this artical is for adults wearing sure I agree. But I have a three year old son who does wear them. So let me tell you first of all crocks are bright colors so I can find them because ity does not matter what type of shoe it is a child will take it off if he wants to. Secondly my son will run through any puddle or lake edge without second thought. Crocs dry out really quickly! Fashon for adults no but practicality for kids YES!

Well Mr. CrocsRNotUs thanks for your unsolicited opinion. But like my mother used to say: "Opinions r like belly buttons and rectums. Everyone has one and sometimes they stink." If you don't like the darn shoes, then don't buy or wear them. It's just that simple.

Yeah, yeah; I was once a 'croc hater' too, but guess what, I now own a somewhat modified more gender (male) appropriate/specific version from 'Propet' and guess what it is picking up females like crazy. Go figure!

Wow, you are just about as arrogant as the Presidential candidate you and your publication apparently endorse. Sorry, but the bitter Americans who cling to their guns, religion, and yes, their Crocs, will not vote for such snobbery. You aren't doing your guy any favors. Unfortunately, it appears that your divisive and prejudiced attitude has been passed along to your son. Have a good life.

I don't normally pay much attention to what people throw on there feet to walk out the door of their home. That being said, thank you for writing this. I was thankful to find out my fashion ignorant boyfriend didn't even know what they were a few weeks ago and upon seeing them at long last, was unsure why anyone would want to wear them. I don't understand a lot of "fashion" trends that get so easily picked up by the masses but the Croc epidemic has really thrown me. They serve no other purpose than to show what sheep would be wearing if they wore shoes. I don't usually condone the bullying judgments of small children but your son is on the money.

Who Cares! It does not matter if other people are wearing crocs. So, you wouldn't wear them but that doesn't make other people have to stop wearing because they hurt your eyes. I too think they are ugly so I don't wear them but, you don't see me going around counting how many crocs I see when I'm walking through the mall. It is a matter of choice on if you wear them or if you just walk past them in the store.

I dislike them, they just look dangerous on the poor kids who wear them, they always look about three sizes to big and I always see some little kid falling while wearing them. Once a little boy was running across the street and fell just as a car was coming up. Luckily the car stopped as the mother ran out to retrive her scrpaed up child. But they don't look good, they seem dangerous and also most pleople who wear them have some kinda God complex. I think those shoes FAIL!

Ok so Crocs arent the most attractive shoes out there. I agree, But as a bartender who spends 9-11 hours on my feet, who has tried, Nike's, Reeboks, Adidas, New Balance, and even special "bartending" shoes, NOTHING comes remotely close to being as comfortable as my crocs. I too have several pair. Being a huge sports fan as well I have collegiant, and professional pairs as well to match my "sports bar" apparel. So until you have been on your feet that long and tried several different avenues for relief dont knock them. And if you dont own a pair or have never tried a pair because they are "hideous". If you really care that much what other people think about your shoes or what you are wearing in general you have a much bigger problem than those ugly shoes!! It is America. land of the free, we can walk around with tampon boxes as shoes if we want who really cares??
Plus as long as my feet were comfortable and I was able to get my job done sufficiently I would wear just about anything. So bring it on Crocs I am ready for some new styles and colors....I am sold for life!!

I do not own a pair of crocs but I am sure this same father in his younger years was probably sexist and ignorant enough to feel the same way about birkinstocks... in that women should be either barefoot and pregnant OR crippled beond belief in mid centurey inspired high heeled pumps rather than don a pair of the less enticing and more anatomically correct birks! In this era where people are smart enough to make a sensible decision and wear what comfort dictates rather than fashion...this ignorant father is passing his shallow minded taste onto his dork son!

OMG as the kids say! I almost died laughing here in my little cubicle, my co-workers probably think I'm nuts! The article was great! Crocs blow. :)

I had the same primal hatred for Tevas--and believe me, I've smelled stinkier feet from Tevas than I've ever smelled from Crocs. But there are just far more important things to obsess over. Quit wasting your writing talent on something ridiculously small like Crocs and focus on some REAL issues. Maybe global warming CAN be stopped if Croc-haters could just funnel their hatred towards this nobler goal.
