'Cool Fashion' is a relative thing...and very time sensetive (just picture nylon shirts unbuttoned to the navel, double-knit pants, and white disco shoes and you will undertstand that 'in-style' is transient concept) but having said that, I MUCH prefer seeing Crocks on dorks more than seeing some kid's ass hanging out of his pants because he's belted them to his thighs ???Gansta Style??? and is walking around like a incontinent baby with a diaper full of ... uhhh ...Crock!

Yep, given the choice, I would rather see Crocks over cracks ever time.

Ok, so this guy does not like crocs. Why don't you spend your time fight crime or the war or some other worthy approach. Why do you want to waste time on a fashion statement? Did you voice your opinion about bell bottom pants or mini skirts or any other fashion? Focus your energy on how you can help bring peace to the world. Your son is learning important lessons here. Will he say his father taught him tolerance?

I don't see any reason this shouldn't be on a news site. This fashion statement is horrific and visually assaulting. How anyone can defend these is beyond me. I suppose if it became fashionable to wear a harpoon impaled in one's midsection, the masses would do it. "Yeah my vital organs are punctured, I'm bleeding to death, I have moments of lockjaw... but I look hip and I fit in!" How are crocs not harmful? There's large gaping holes in the damn things! ???Hey they're comfy and great for people on their feet all day!??? Real great if a doctor if phlebotomist drops a tainted needle on their foot because their shoes look like road signs you see in redneck infested regions. I'm sure they're great for people working with hazardous materials like sulphuric acid too, because heaven knows that feels great on the flesh. I can see this being functional for hikers too, those sharp rock shards and dirt covered sharpen roots are no match for plastic clogs with gaping holes... Face it, they aren't functional or fashionable. They're the new aged Jelly shoes from the 80's, and like them they're just wrong.

well said. Im glad its on the home page of msn, hopefully more people will get a clue of how stupid they look in them. They first came out actually about 10 years ago as garding shoes, why would you want to wear garding shoes around? I just don't get it. And know the lady who decided to attach little flowers to them is a millionaire... what's next?

Well I love my croc's and stand by them!! I wear dress shoes, heels and all that everyday for my job. So when I have a day off, you bet I wear croc's!! They are THE most comfortable pair of shoes I own. I own brown and black though, no crazy colors. I love my Croc's and so do my feet!! Why is a guy who wears pitted out t-shirts and pleated pants commenting about shoes anyway?? Some one call the queer eye for the straight guys FAST!!

Wow!! That was five minutes of my life that was wasted and I will never be able to get back. What does your therapist say about your disorder? Is it curable? Man you need a hobby or something.

This is one of society's biggest problems - that people spend too much time worrying about what others wear, and worrying about what others think about what they themselves wear. I???m with those who find it sad that you encourage your child to label and criticize others based on what they wear. It???s shallow and petty.
I didn't read all the comments, but I saw at least one about being a "sheep" if you wear Crocs. That would imply that all people who wear them do so simply because they see others doing it...and yes, I'm sure that's the case for some people. For me, however, it's not, and I'm sure there are others like me. I???m not annoyed because someone criticized my shoes ??? I respect everyone???s right to say what???s on their mind, and it???s certainly not the first time I???ve read or heard a rant about ???those horrible Crocs???. What annoys me is that it???s said (as are many of the comments supporting him) in a way that insinuates that everyone is only supposed to wear things that are socially approved, and that if they don???t, there???s something wrong with them. Talk about a sheep mentality.
When I first saw them on my sister's feet, I thought they were hideous and I couldn't believe she had the guts to wear them. I didn't try them until several years later when my daughter wanted to try some on...so I did, too, and was hooked. Long story short - I don't give a rat's ass what anyone thinks of my Crocs, or anything else I choose to wear. I don't wear Crocs because I think they make me look cool or trendy or because I want to impress anyone. I wear them because they're comfortable and *I* like them. Yes, they're ugly, but so are lots of other fashion trends. Even after no one else is wearing them, if I wanted to keep on wearing them, I would. Oh, and...I have no trouble getting laid, either.
One last thing - if you???ve checked out the Crocs website lately, you know that Crocs has made other styles that aren???t quite as ugly as the clogs.

There are so many more important issues that need to be addressed. Why are large companies like McDonalds and PG&E giving thousands of dollars to the homosexual movement. Have any of you seen the San Fransisco Gay Pride Parade? It's none other than a bunch of naked people and people dressed in garb only seen in porno flicks. If you support this you are supporting public pornography for your kids to see!

Isn't this country all about diversity, free speech, respect and being the ultimate melting pot? People can weak whatever they want, it's a FREE country. What's next? Ban sandals? Maybe you are better off in Saudi where people have a strict dressing code.

i dont think you should judge people by their shoes maybe they think they look cool or are comfortable to them.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont care what this guy says, I own 2 pairs of Crocs and LOVE them!! I spend my life in heels and dress shoes of some sort because of my profession. So when I go out and about on a day off I give my feet a break. Croc's are THE most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever worn and I love them!! So I suggest this guy buy some new pants and loose the pitted out t-shirts and get a life of his own!!

  • Posted By: sallyjenn @ 08/05/2008 12:39:39 PM

oh, give crocs a break, are you the fashion police or something?
that's what is wrong with this world today, people sticking their noses in everyone else's business!
why do you care, if you don't like them, ok, but alot of people do, i for one have some in every color, i can't bend down to tie shoes i have a spinal injury, so they are coloful and easy to slip on and off.
there are alot of other more important things people can complain about in today's world.

People, you shouldn't take this so seriously! I have crocs and hate them too! I thought the article was hysterical!

  • Posted By: jay @ 08/05/2008 12:38:43 PM

well I think its funny how much this man cares about crocs. I think if you don't like it then don't wear them and just ignore it. I personally won't wear them and probally should ,because i'm on my feet all day. I just don't like them but I sure wont go and post how much I hate them like this man did.

  • Posted By: hotrodgrrrl @ 08/05/2008 12:38:32 PM

Right on, guy. I think they are horrid. My husband's ENTIRE FAMILY wears them. Mother in law bought me a pair. I'll admit, they are easily slipped into, so I keep them by the door for when I go to check the mail, but I would never, ever, EVER wear them in public!

Crocs represent everything I hate about America: Ignorance, fat Americans who have no desire to present themselves in a presentable way, laziness. I blame the Northerners. My husband and I just returned from a weeklong trip to San Francisco where we were nauseated daily with Crocs and Birkenstocks. I really thought that nothing could top the nauseum I felt while looking at unkempt feet in a pair of Birkenstocks. No, thank you Crocs, you have taken that cake. They filled every shoe store window there. It made me want to run straight to the Castro District. You won't find a pair there.

    • Posted By: templedog @ 08/05/2008 12:38:05 PM

I LOVE YOU! The Castro and Townsend are where all the pretty people hang!
      :)

This article IS pretty funny. I don't like these Croc shoes, can't stand them. Unfortunately, I too have seen a entire store dedicated to selling these shoes in a local mall. These are the ugliest shoes i've seen and should have nothing to do with fashion. They could be decorated in shiny gems and they would still look ugly. I think they should be worn only by persons who have medical reasons for wearing them or worn indoors or strickly yard shoes. It really shouldn't be worn in place of dress shoes, come on! The only good thing I've seen come out of this fashion tragedy is one of those donate and rescue a child commercials who have taken these shoes through public donations and given them to children in other countries who have no shoes and have to walk miles to get to food and water or away from termoil and violence in their village and end up with cutup, blistered and infected feet. That is what it should be used for especially if its piled up in some warehouse somewhere and where fashion is not a big issue, staying alive and healthy is. I don't know why this has become a fashion statement unless...........some of you fell for that pet rock thing. Ooopsy!
