Bravo, Mr. Tuttle. History will relegate Crocs to the fashion-atrocity Love Canal just like it has the neon hypercolor tees, stirrup pants and sleeveless flannel shirt faux pas of decades past. Unfortunately, this transition just won't happen soon enough.

Me thinks that some are spending far too great a time bashing Mr. Tuttle. Guess it's what happens when something as emotionally high-charged and controversial as a critique of Crocs shoes make it to publication.

Re-e-e-lax. Nowadays, there are dozens of shoes to assist Diabetics in walking comfortably although, in essence, no shoe is perfectly-made to suit our unique feet. Shoes are like jeans!

I feel about Crocs the same way that I do about Whole Foods. Not only are the 2 companies a financial rip-off, but they are only meant to suit a temporary, trendy image. Crocs knows this, and that is why it has established a variety of styles... to suit the ever-changing, refreshment-hungry fashion public (not Diabetics)!

Fashion trends are brief and usually uncomfortable to begin with unless we get lucky. Why? Because styles tend to suit particular figures, sizes and heights, only. In fact, they are presented attractively (upon the very "particular figures, sizes and heights") to make a sale to you and me. And, unfortunately, many of us don't possess the funds (or fame) with which to customize our garb so we result in looking a little ridiculous. And Mr. Tuttle reserves the right to rant about this fact.

Fashion is not for everyone. Neither are Crocs. So, let's please allow Mr. Tuttle his spotlight for it is hilariously well-deserved.

No one need be intelligent to read Newsweek articles, just interested. And if one is uninterested in reading Newsweek articles, one needn't be on the Newsweek site.

The first mistake is assuming that intelligent people read Newsweek. I mean, Newsweek is for those of feeble mind. Even so, it is highly regretful that this story made it through the editing stage...

The writer is obviously not a good one, he works for Newsweek... [see above]

The fact that people don't like Crocs is unoriginal, but you have to create reader interest [read: make money] somehow, right? So, why not jump on the Crocs bashing bandwagon? All the cool kids are doing it.

Mr. Tuttle basically shows the nation that he feels it is ok, for himself and his child, to judge people based on the way they look. What year is this again?

Mr. Tuttle indicates that he has no fashion sense... so why is he blathering on about a fashion phenom? See: generating reader interest, i.e. making money, above

He fails to mention that the shoes HELP people with foot and back problems, and are a heaven-sent for some. He fails to mention that some of the shoes were recently approved by Medicare and Medicaid for diabetics, and some of the shoes are award winners from the American Podiatric Association. But... oh yeah, I forgot, Mr. Tuttle would have us hating those lesser than us, in taste and in health.

Forget about the shoes, the article is in very poor taste and is a mockery of people based on their shoe preference. Have you no shame, Newsweek?

Even worse, Im sure they're not biodegradable, so when everyone realizes how hidious they are and decides to throw them out, those millions and millions of pairs of Crocs will sit in our landfills and help pollute our planet for the next million years!!

Funny, Steve. I could not agree more. These dorks, er "dorcs" need to lighten up. So defensive! Like bell-bottom pants, I consign these to a fad that can't end soon enough. Now if you want something unusual and perhaps even "cool" try out the vibram fivefingers (http://www.vibramfivefingers.com)...

Well I will say that you have a serious aversion to them! Good for you. I happen to love my flowered pair as much as my tie-dyed pair. While I don't intentionally try to irritate or cause people's eyes to burn, I think if you don't like them, don't look for them. I don't understand, is it like the car-wreck syndrome you have, where you have to sit and watch for something you so despise? Most people I know have busy enough lives that we don't have time for silly things like that. Good luck to you and your campaign. Maybe next you can concentrate on things (trivial as they may be) like world hunger, etc. bye

~THOSE WHO THINK CROCS ARE UGLY: I notice you have not suggested another shoe for those who like Crocs for their comfort. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Maybe you are angry because your shoes are tight and squeeze your toes! Eh???

This article was a hoot. I also laugh at people who wear those hideous shoes. Such a marketing genius to make people part with their hard earned money to buy the geekiest show ever made. Salute!
