Can Obama Stay Above the Fray?

Obama likes to pull the race card every time a poll drops for him. This so called new politics smells and looks a lot like the politics of the last 5000 years. There is no such place as the fantasy land that Obama is always saying Washington will change into if he is elected..You cannot change human nature. Sorry Barry, but this is not a land of fantasy and people will always do what people have done since the beginning of civilization. Obama is doing the classic political move called "they are picking on the po' black fellow". There is nothing worse in my eyes than a hypocrite and Obama is the worst kind of hypocrite, playing on the emotions of the racial divide that we have in this country. Personally I think Blacks and Whites are both equal and basically are now treated equal by most Americans, there will always be bigots and racists and that is just the facts but this is not 1808 it is 2008 and things are now equal under the law and in most peoples attitudes. I could care less about his color, it's him I don't care for. A man who sat for 20 years in that White hating Jew hating church,. A man all of 47 yrs who has accomplished what? Wrote a book(named for his preacher!) ran for Senate, and hasn't done anything since he got there and now is running a celebrity cult of personality campaign and cries racist every time he is criticized. Sorry but that is wrong and I call it as I see it, I have never been one to beat around the bushes and I will call a spade a spade when I see one. If we are going to have our first African American candidate why the hell did we pick this left wing liberal elite hypocrite? Plenty of other Black men and women who have done things and have experience, hell, even Oprah has more credentials for the job. I am a Democrat and if Colin Powell switched parties then he would get my vote for sure, he is smart, experienced and seems to have good judgment. Obama claim on good judgment was he didnt vote for the war. So what! he wasn't even in a position to vote since he wasn't in the Senate.....he supported every war funding bill after and since then..what do you call that......a .hypocrite! It is a pity that the Democratic leadership allowed this to go as far as it has. With this thinking I guess tomorrow I will take up brain surgery..., I am not a doctor nor did I go to med school and I have never done it before but with the "Obama thinking" I have every right to operate tomorrow if I feel like it. We do not elect Presidents on whose been on the most covers of People magazine!

Eleanor, John McCain and company will do anything to paint Obama as an "uppity n*****r" who is running for an office to which he is not entitled. He is going to have to keep a Jackie Robinson-like dignity while bearing the insults, even when heavily coded. He has to be like Tiger Woods en root to a birdie. His eyes have to be on the cup and he has to aim straight for it.

The country is being subjected to a disgusting campaign that can only end in McCain's humiliating himself and losinig whattever respect his heroic service earned him. It's really tragic.

I find Eleanor Clift to be unbelievable in her assessment of Obama. Here is a man who sat under the philosophy of James Cone, black liberation for 20 years- he has heard and written about Jeremiah Wright and his rants about Hiroshima and white man's greed -- and she calls him "zen like?" Incredible.

Why should Mccain use a christain Movie to attack Barack Obama. I think this is going to far and insulting to us Christains. Mccain is not a christain so he can use the basis of our faith for political reasons. Does he know the importance of the 10 commandments to christains? This act will not go unpunished.

PLease notice that there are two Obama for president advertisements on Eleanor Clift's site. I would like to see a nonpartial analysis of the candidates without having the site being paid by a candidate to run an advertisement. Cleft cannot say one or the other candidate is in someone's pocket when Newsweek is receiving funds to run political ads for the candidates.
I find the comments extremely interesting. Politicians make promises to win votes. In August 2006 Obama visited his father's Luo tribe site and offered support for the school named after him on property his father donated and upon which the school is built. He promised his grandmother suppport for the school. He can afford a $1.650 million dollar house and his wife can earn $300,000 as a public relations executive at a hospital and increase the hospital building costs by disavowing the fair bidding contracts and reawarding the contracts to more expensive minority contractors but neither of the Obamas can find $10,000 to send to the school so that Obama's relatives can get a half way decent education, have clean drinking water or electricity in the building.
We all know politicians lie to get elected, is this what we have to look forward to with Obama?
Also Obama in August 2006 campaigned for his cousin Odinga who was educated in the former East Germany, and although Kenya is 80% christian wants to change the style of government to favor the minority muslim population and apply Sharia Law. The more one looks, the worse it gets

The key for Obama is to go 100pc one way or the other.If he chooses to stay 'above the negative campaigning' he offers the US and the World a real change we can believe in. (my preference).The alternative is to expose McCain as the arrogant,conceited special interest beholden POLITICIAN (in the prejorative ) that he is.Obama will win either way but only if he fully pursues one strategy.The nightmare scenario is to be caught in the middle - too idealistic to attack an old man's character and too scared to change the template.

McCain should be thanking the media daily that he doesn't receive the same level of scrutiny Obama does. He has reversed himself on everything and if all things were out in the open would have no maverick status to coast on.

I love how one remark Obama made (which incidentally is true "risky" in his case is a euphemism for strange black and foreign) is being scrutinized so much, while the fact that McCain's policies are so wrong and arcane is forgotten. He HAS to focus on Obama. Betting soc. security with "drunk" wall street, overturning Roe v Wade, endless war (with anyone BUT Al Queda), opening up off shore areas for drilling when millions of acres (on land and off) are already open to drill on (its just a convenient climate for the pigs at Exxon etc.), and what amounts to trickle down economics... if his policies were out in the open he'd be done! What year is he from and how lucky is he that all the focus is on Obama.
