fuel costs are forcing companies to locate jobs back here in the usa. the weak dollar is forcing companies to relocate jobs back here in the usa. terrorism is forcing companies to relocate jobs back here in the usa.

and finally, thanks to the current administration, unemployment is so high, the company has favor in finding a weary job applicant pool to take advantage of here in the usa. the republican party has lost favor and the silent majority is simply tired of the reteric and stupidity that has persited for the last eight years. go sell crazy some where else.

Seriously folks.. WE MUST allow the 3R plan (done by the private sector..Myself included) take effect with John McCain as president. Not taunting politics, but the news jobs as outlined in the 3R cannot happen with any other leader. We need the bipartisan efforts of John McCain to save this nation.
Obama's plans for penalizing the class of Americans who actually invest in these new small USA based businesses will crush this nation. The big corps are already going overseas and across the border to escape Democratic lead worker's unions and democratic designed regs on the USA mfg...
I'm not talking pollution control and river wastes.. But insane and inane rules and regs that other countries do not have for mfg.
Seriously and as your friend... We need McCain and the 3R economic plan.
Without it, we are pretty much sunk as a nation.
Please "Tea6" take a look behind the campaigning and see what is really in store for us. This is good news.

    JOHN McCAIN???S 3R ECONOMIC PLAN 2008
    Abbreviated version
Progressive thinking Republican Candidate John McCain comes through for America with his 3R economic plan. In the persona of Theodore Roosevelt, McCain???s plan just makes sense.
FIRST , keep in mind that to drop the fuel tax, the local gov???ts would crash. We must use the 3R to replace taxes lost from replaced fuel through green energy (Yes, we have it ready to go!)
    www.betterconstructed.com
    1. RETHINK: America must see globally on what America is capable of in our current state of technology, engineering and meet the demands that face the world.
Private Sector framework is in place and current laws allow the 3R to happen. The Progressive attitude of John McCain to get things done by crossing party lines will resurrect America.
    2. REFORM: The American people must demand higher quality products and less restricted trade routes for Made in USA components. We will lead the way of MFG again!
The USA will reform its dead manufacturing base
    3. REINVENT: America and Americans must reinvent themselves to reach and maintain these standards and by sheer American ingenuity, control the world???s marketplace in the competitive manner, as the USA has always been proud to be #1.
NUTS AND BOLTS of the plan are simple.
Billions of savings equates to millions of lost tax revenue from energy companies. The US needs a separate tax revenue source before we can move away from fossil fuels.
    McCain 3R solution.
McCain???s 3R is about technical, closely monitored and rapid hands on training from pros to create new pros. Thousands of currently-job-displaced ???once leaders in the manufacturing arena??? will be asked to train and play instructor rolls in the 3R plan. Paid, of course, as these new leaders will help create a whole new style of prosperous America. A massive restructure providing thousands New American MFG means millions of new jobs for infrastructure alone.
We have the buildings, needs and infrastructure to do this!
New jobs is the mainstay for Creating a new guard for Social Security.
This is the new place for financial speculators to invest!
McCain???s Progressive nature embodies Theodore Roosevelt more than any US presidential candidate in history since the original Rough Rider blazed the greatest era of growth in America.
We need John McCain to lead our nation with the same type of change.
Men and women of all races on equal ground operating their own businesses or taking part as an employee. No more hyphenated Americans! Thinking like Theodore Roosevelt all the way to a stronger America.

The reason for the lack of new jobs is that corporations have done what they can to over-supply the labor market. They outsource service jobs. They have off-shored over 3 million manufacturing jobs and these people are trying to get services jobs. Behind the scenes they promote illegal immigration ??? taking jobs from people at the bottom and now they are trying to move up. In this economic cycle there should have been 40 million new jobs created, not 5 million. Corporations have gotten over confident with everyone singing their praises. They even have their own TV channel, CNBC that tells us how wonderful they are. They feel confident they can do whatever they want.

In addition to the decline of new jobs created, workplace conditions have taken a turn for the worse. Companies do not even try to be nice anymore. Everyone is expected to work longer hours for the same pay. The workweek for Americans is one of the longest in the world. Even people who make $100k do not have it all that great as they are basically working an 80 hour week or the equivalent of working two back to back 40 hours jobs paying $50k each. Women are leaving the workplace because of the deteriorating conditions. Corporations have employees under their thumb and they know it.

There is hope however, the corporations have forgotten that this is a democracy and they can be put in their place. I have voted Republican since the Gipper in 1980. This year I am voting for the Democrats. I do not agree with everything they have on their agenda, but they are the only ones who will constrict the labor supply. If they screw up I will vote against them in the next election. In a time of crisis you do what you have to do.

Civmar is right about the value of a college degree being less and less. Getting a job is all about marketing oneself and standing out in a massive crowd. If 1,000 people are applying to a single job opening, and they all have relatively similar qualifications (including a college degree), then who's going to stand out? How can the person in charge of hiring make a decision when hundreds of applicants all look the same? This is the problem. So many jobs have been eliminated at the manufacturing level, that now everyone is scrambling to get jobs in the service and managerial levels. The problem is that there's simply not enough jobs at those levels, so we now have far too many people with college degrees trying to get jobs that aren't there. Competition is through the roof. In the past, when a smaller percentage of people had a college degree, just having the degree made a person stand out from the crowd. Now everyone has one, no one stands out. But still, a college degree is necessary and that's what makes it so hard. The bar has been raised to where a degree is standard and necessary but will not get anyone a job. Job seekers need to keep going further in an effort to stand out and be noticed.

The author of this article wrongly touts the value of a college degree as the key to better chances at employment. It's obvious that he has not read any of the reports issued by the Economic Policy Institute concerning the rising levels of unemployment, long-term unemployment, and permanent unemployment amongt the highly-educated sector of our country. The college degree no longer holds the value that it once had. Today's labor and economic markets demand certification and technical skills and not the 4 year academic sheepskin. The current high-school dropout is the highest in the nation's history. However, most of these dropouts are leaving school to enter into higher paying jobs than pursuing academia and scholarly thought. I've been told by government officials that my college degree (which is in government)is of no value for them. As long as government no longer holds college education as the key to success, then the author of this article should review his facts before issuing a numerical statistic concerning unemployment amongst the college-educated. STATISTIC: 1 out of 4 UNEMPLOYED COLLEGE GRADUATES ARE SUFFERING FROM LONG-TERM AND PERMANENT UNEMPLOYMENT which is higher than the unemployment for those who haven't graduated from college. Until government instiutes program that revalue the college degree and puts unemployed college graduates back to work, we may soon become a nation of illeterates.

And top it all off, we get to pay TAXES on our unemployment benefits. Now don't that just beat all? It's precious little to begin with, and then the Gov't takes out more. Thank you America! You're the "greatest country in the world!" How come so many people find it so hard to afford to live here? One step forward, two steps back, story of most peoples' lives....

Stats mean zip, zero, nada, not a darn thing, when your in an "At Will" employment state, because even if your fired, but the employer does not pull the trigger!! it's called "Job Abandonment' ie: NO BENIFITS PAID, NO STATS!! INCOMPLETE COMPLETLY! TRY TO ADD THAT INTO THE STATS!

I get very tired of "experts" who know what everyone else should do. I've had vocational/technical training. I've been unemployed for a month, have no prospects-no car-no way to pay rent that's due - very little money for food and no money coming in. It seems assistance programs are for everyone but citizens/veterans who WANT to work. I begin to suspect that Ohio's flag was rectangular until NAFTA took a bite out of its ***. This state is dying and Dayton is already dead.

    51,000 jobs lost= 51,000 votes for obama

I purely love economists. I've had vocational training and despite that, after a month of searching, I still have no job - and no way to pay my rent or replace my vehicle I couldn't afford to fix. There don't seem to be any assistance programs for American citizens/veterans who WANT to work. Ohio's flag, I sometimes suspect, was rectangular before NAFTA took a bite out of its ***. This state is dying and Dayton is already dead.
