It's embarassing how America is always counselling other nations to bite the
bullit while she refuses to take the bitter medicine.

A third wayout for world economy is likely but where?why do both captitalism and communism fail ?Iy seems that some politicians always target on China by denouncing it as a country that brings market prices high as a result of it's huge demand of resources,it's not fair!

I am increasingly convinced that the real villain of the piece for decades has been CAPITALISM! And the propagators of it ??? America. So far, the US has led the world by example -- conspicuous consumption, waste, excesses of all kinds, gluttony, greed, self-serving righteous acts, divide and rule policies ??? all this and more, has led the rest of the wannabe nations to ape it. Result? What the US went through in the 1970s is just a trailor of what the wannabes are going through currently or are slated to go through if timely and appropriate measures are not taken by them. Yes, Communism failed too (that was never the answer to the world???s economic woes; in fact all communist nations realized how wrong their system was and in the absence of a better alternative, they too have embraced the devil, capitalism). We need a middle-of-the-road approach ???neither capitalism nor communism. Again, I am increasingly convinced that America does not have the answers this time. On the contrary, it needs to tighten its belt, cut out the excesses, streamline its needs and let the world lead it for a change. Kanan Divecha, Mumbai, India

The US subprime credit crunch continues to bash the financial institutions. Greenspan just predicted that the government would have to bail out more and more banks within the next year or two. The ugly recession looks forward to stay around for some time.

Pushed by the soaring oil price and surging food price worldwide, the equally ugly if not uglier inflation (like a hurricane) sweeps away or tears into pieces the economy in most countries, especially the developing and the underdeveloped ones. The resulting havoc will take a long time to repair, if it ever does.

Inflation plus recession give birth to stagflation, the most feared economic monster which would certainly bring greater turmoil to the already unsettling scenario. Except for the very rich, the rest of mankind must be prepared to tighten the belts further.

    Moad dib-

Forget about 'reasonable profits" As a small business owner I put myself "out there"every day. Each day I start from ZERO. Isn't that good enough for guys like you? And guess what-as a resident of California (as I am now) I am preparing to get outta here as I (yes, it's true) DARE TO EXPAND my business.

I won't be expanding it here in California because they want $8.25 an hour minimum wage which is $3500 per employee more than I would have to pay in most other states. Plus the fact that in California Workers Comp is so ridiculous not to mention the fact that if I fail to hire someone on Day One that person can claim they are a transgender person and they can sue me for $150,000 because I didn't hire them because of their sex. (Whatever THAT may be!)

It is the fault of all of us that we have creeps in Washington. We need to run for Congress. We need to inform our neighbors. In my neighborhood it is not "polite" to talk about politics. And I can understand why.

Greed is not only a corporate item, it is also an item that is rampant in Washington among our elected politicans . They have been the ones to allow the larger part of the movement of companys out of the USA that have carried many jobs to other places on this globe. They, politicans spend our tax money on just about anything they have a mind to....and it cost them nothing....it is not their money. It is ours! Many other countries are have financial problems mostly because we have a problem controling ours here in the US....We all need responsible peoplke in control..where are they at?

Many other countries are losing now because our own country cannot control spending or resourses...

Greed is a corporate goal at the expense of employees and consumers. The current prices for food, gas, and electricity is a wake-up call that a pro-business environment is at the expense of those it is suppose to serve. Preferably, the prices for resources need to double to force the corporate world to pull back to their borders, re-group, and settle for reasonable profits margins and re-invest money in their workforce via wages, and beneifts

Globalism isn't as progressive an idea as people might think. Its about making money in the short-term by exploiting developing markets, where there is a differential between standards of living and values of currency. That means off-shoring jobs or importing illegal aliens when it suits business, with little or no regard to the long term dynamics of creating a sustainable, harmonious nation.

Soon, the globalists will have achieved their goal, uniform global poverty. Thank good ness for the Global Poverty Act passed by the House and soon up for a vote in the Senate courtesy of the five progressive Democrats and one Repulican.
