Maybe you should take a look at Putin and his siloviki comrades who are gangsters cloaked in government garb. Maybe you should see things as they are SICRAT. The Putin "government" just about stole BP's holdings in Russia, forcing the Brits to sell to Gazprom, kicking the Brits out. You want to defend Putin? Go ahead. The West should pull out, otherwise they would be forced out anyway, maybe even put in jail themselves.

To Trooper: You sure know a lot about the Khodorkovsky affair. Have you heard of a truckload of bank records shipped from Moscow to St. Pete's on Khodorkovsky's orders, with the truck obligingly falling off a bridge into a river, so that all documents were destroyed? For all I know, he could have been sentenced to some 600 years under the US law. Kindly take the trouble to get the other side of the story.

Putin is a dictator. He put Khodorovsky in jail on trumped up charges coz he saw him as a threat. He also stole his company, which is fueling Russia's comeback. Now that Putin is putting the squeeze on Georgia, he is showing his true colors-again. Another thing Dubya was wrong about. Well, he's easy to fool anyway, since he is one. Western countries should take thier money, thier investments out of Russia ASAP. I hope the Georgians give 'em something they will not forget, coz this thing is gonna get hot.

Less foreign money in Russia is not necessarily a bad thing. The economy is overheated due to a huge current account surplus. The ruble is too strong, making Russia's non-oil economy uncompetitive in a bout of the Dutch disease. As to Western expertise and technology, Russia is, momentarily, rich enough to buy those on its own. In fact, scaring Western cash away could be viewed as a useful tool of monetary policy.

All managers ???? who work in company VR-TNK, boastful idlers and sexually anxious types. While the Russian managers carry out the basic file and receive for it pennies, English managers frankly idle and are dragged for Russian women, but receive in times greater payment for "work".
