Comment: Heart just asked McCain to cease and desist playing Barracuda. I personally wouldn't let elitist Republicans play a note of my music without paying a premium price.
The joys, and pitfalls, of selecting campaign music.

Comment: amendment2neocon.... if all dems boycotted all republican supported institutions and businesses in america, you and your party would be absolutely without a voice, and your tune would change very quickly. don't encourage us to organize... we the working class democrats, liberals, and general free-thinkers vastly outnumber the true "elite" republicans and "wannabe's". careful what you ask for...
Comment: Mellancamp....keep your veiws to yourself. I will never listen to your music again. The same goes with boycotting any hollywood types that are out spoken in their liberal adgenda.
who the heck are you people?? belonging to the celebrity community does not make you smart or a genius who can dictate public opinion. you all work for US. if we do not buy your product then you will fade away. remember that.
Comment: Dear constitutionallawprofessor,
Please have a care. I'm from Mississippi, white, and have been an Obama supporter from the get go. When you demonize one state and one people in an effort to rebuke one small minded idiot, you hurt your own cause. We're all just human beings in the end and Mississippi has enough problems (poverty, crooked politicians, substandard schools, and a lack of good jobs and no unions). Have a care and don't label us with this as well. It's unfair and it's insulting. Haven't we got enough to deal with just trying to get our candidate elected without shooting ourselves in the foot? Remember, we Mississipians came out in droves for Obama despite the insulting and downright racist ads sent down by both McCain and Clinton. Don't lump us all in that shameful category.
Comment: Interesting article but it doesn't point out that, as Reagan found out in the 80s, the underlying themes to "Small Town" and "Pink Houses" are not a ringing endorsement of the times in America when they were written. Springsteen's "Born in the USA" was frequently used as well by politicians who ignored the message of the struggles that the song's subject had in 1970s America. Usually, advertisers and campaigns ignore the message for just one line of the song.
Comment: Obama should use Dylan's "The Times They Are A Changin'" Fits perfectly, plus it is an American classic, just like Barack will be.
Comment: I thought Obama had picked a running mate when he went to France. I thought his running mate was Usama Bin Laden. Is this true? It would be better than Mrs Clinton. Thank EW
Comment: I have the perfect song for Obama. It is even from the movie "Chicago" so fits in perfectly.
It is called "Razzle Dazzle Them". and it is Obama to a "T".

INTERVIEW with Author of The Obama Nation, Dr. Jerome Corsi, Ph.d
Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UdFs6hjPnyw
Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PgaGFITnTAQ
Comment: Doctor Corsi's PhD was granted in political science. Biography is generally considered to fall under history. A PhD writing outside his own field can be considered an interested layman, not an expert. He wrote a history of John Kerry in Vietnam using the Swift Boat Veteran's for Truth as sources. These sources (some of them) were later show to be lying. Dr. Corsi is a GOP operative, no scholar would point to his 700 citations and say "most of them are on the web." What trash. Here's what wikipedia has for him:
Jerome R. Corsi (August 31, 1946) is an American author and Republican, who at one time was considered a candidate for the Constitution Party's 2008 Presidential nomination.[1]
Corsi received national media exposure as co-author (with John O'Neill), of Unfit for Command, a book that topped the New York Times bestseller list. The book, written in cooperation with Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, criticized the conduct of John Kerry???at the time the Democratic candidate for president???as a naval officer during the Vietnam War and challenged the legitimacy of each of his combat medals. The book also criticized Kerry's later efforts organizing opposition to that war. Corsi did not serve in Vietnam himself; he was disqualified from induction during his draft physical on the grounds that he suffers from eczema.
Comment: Here's more grist for the mill. MediaMatters report on a number of things Corsi, including posts on the Free Republic website from 2001 to 2004. Be sure and read all the intelligent and insightful comments that Corsi posted here:

Comment: Eczema? Give me a break! Just another chickenhawk, like Bush, Cheney, and Rummy. What this country needs is libel reform. That would put these right wing smear meisters out of business most quickly. As it is, almost anything can be said about political figures, never mind the truth of the matter, and is by the right wing. I'd love to see Corsi have to defend his writings in a court of law.
Comment: The only thing more dumb than voting for Obama because some celebrity endorses him is voting against Obama because some celebrity endorses him.
Comment: Great Reply, thanks
Comment: THE AMERICAN people have SPOKEN, we don't give a CRAP who Mellencamp is FOR or AGAINST!! I think that the PEOPLE made that CLEAR when HOLLYWOOD types were all jumping on the O bandwagon and CALIFORNIA went overwhelmingly FOR CLINTON says volumes....Hollywood types need to stick to their scripts and LET THE PEOPLE"S will be hear and I am sure it will be in NOVEMBER...
Comment: lets wait for November. obama is the new Mcgovern. remember you read it here.
He is a total liberal. the majority of the nations voters are not liberals. he is at odds on many issues with his liberal adgenda. all this "inspiration" and emotional appeal has temporarily masked his political self. he continues to elude and morph and blow with the wind to try to deceive the voters. In short he is really a total liar as he sat there for 20 years and heard no anti white ravings from Wright. he was for guns before he was against them and he is going to invite amendijan, hamas, alqueda et al to a white house wingding bbq to make everything wright....oh i mean right... no left?!!! Unprepared Trainee is what obama is.
we simply cannot elect an unqualified individual such as this. all you people who have abandoined logic should reconsider your positions and see obama as the not ready candidate who may NEVER be ready.
vote for proven experience in government Vote for MCCAIN.
Comment: NOT OVERWHELMING!
Comment: Please don't speak for me or assume that you can speak on behalf of the American people. Your myopic view points certainly do nothing to further the conversation.
