Sick of Mona Vie but LOVE Acai berry? Rare opportunity to get in on or near ground floor of a new acai berry company. The juice is much higher in actual acai berry. Plus no concentrate, no powder, it's pure acai berry pulp. Company launches the 1st of Sept. Better product, better commission and payout, plus the ground level opportunity!

    http://www.ftc.gov/speeches/other/dvimf16.shtm

Pyramid schemes now come in so many forms that they may be difficult to recognize immediately. However, they all share one overriding characteristic. They promise consumers or investors large profits based primarily on recruiting others to join their program, not based on profits from any real investment or real sale of goods to the public. Some schemes may purport to sell a product, but they often simply use the product to hide their pyramid structure. There are two tell-tale signs that a product is simply being used to disguise a pyramid scheme: inventory loading and a lack of retail sales. Inventory loading occurs when a company???s incentive program forces recruits to buy more products than they could ever sell, often at inflated prices. If this occurs throughout the company???s distribution system, the people at the top of the pyramid reap substantial profits, even though little or no product moves to market. The people at the bottom make excessive payments for inventory that simply accumulates in their basements. A lack of retail sales is also a red flag that a pyramid exists. Many pyramid schemes will claim that their product is selling like hot cakes. However, on closer examination, (((the sales occur only between people inside the pyramid structure or to new recruits joining the structure, not to consumers out in the general public.)))

    Sound familiar?

Celebrity involvement for promotional purpose, Monavie sales force is not getting the job done. This is interesting from another post: What do these people have in common: J Simpson, William Shatner, Joe Montana, Steve Garvey, and Chris Everett-Lloyd? J Simpson, William Shatner, Joe Montana, Steve Garvey, and Chris Everett-Lloyd? They were all spokespersons for allegedly ???revolutionary??? supplement products that were later exposed to be fraudulent. Simpson was a pitchman for a widely criticized overpriced MLM multivitamin called Juice Plus and he claimed that it cured his arthritis, but his Juice Plus testimonial was exposed as a lie during his murder trial and he had to be dropped from the company???s ads. Shatner, Montana, Garvey and Everett-Lloyd all plugged United Sciences of America???s products in the late 80s, until the company???s pyramid scheme was shutdown by the FDA in one of the most widely publicized supplement investigations to date. After United Sciences imploded, the athletes were ordered to appear before the New York State Supreme Court to explain their involvement with the company, and the reputations of a bunch of high profile scientists and doctors who plugged the product also went down the toilet. Bottom line, never trust testimonials ??? they are meaningless, except perhaps as a tip-off to fraud. Even Orrin Hatch got on the bandwagon and told the press that he drinks XanGo, another overpriced MLM wonder juice that has been widely criticized for fraudulent marketing. But it???s no coincidence that Hatch is MLM-friendly given that so many MLM companies, including the one that makes XanGo, are based in Hatch???s home state of Utah .

Report2FTC, MonaVie has never paid anyone to endorse the product. Many of the celbs are Distributors and they were brought on board by hard working .MonaVie folks. You have the worst case of 'success envy' I have ever seen. hmm, maybe it's 'fruit envy'!

        • Posted By: Report2FTC @ 08/29/2008 7:52:18 AM

I never said anything about endorsement, your just like a Monavie rep, take what people say out of context. There is more to publicity than meets the monavie reps eye. It's a corporate thing, something you won't understand since your a sales reps.

I think everyone???s already rehashed the OLD stuff you???re posting here hundreds of times. Very exciting stuff about United Science even though it???s 20 YEARS OLD!!!. Hey, did you hear that we???ve landed on the moon. Just thought you might want to know because I heard it may be a total scam!!

I know that I like to get my 100 fruits a day :) How do you stop from crapping your pants though?? Hey I just checked out the ACAIPLUS traffic rating on Alexa. It''s not that hot considering their site has been online since April of 2005. It finally made it to the bottom of the top 100,000 sites, but It's only gone up a bit since August 2nd, when this article was published, what a surprise. It's cool when you can ride on the coat tails of a successful company like MonaVie eh? These ACAIPLUS spammers are like frikkin' mocking birds LOL!

Hey Acai Plus, why stop at 100 fruits, let's go 200, maybe 500, maybe every fruit ever discovered!! Just remember, it's not the size of your fruit, it's how you use it ;)

I love this post I saw on another blog :)

    MLM Is A Scam!!!!!

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I spent many years going to school. From
Public School to Junior High To High School
to College .. like 16 years Total

This was all to prepare me for a JOB in
Corporate America as a mainframe computer
    Programmer

then One day my JOB was gone, "They"
outsourced what I had been making $100k+
to somebody in a third world country for $10
    an hour

    CORPORATE AMERICA IS A SCAM!

While I WAS working in Corporate America
they weren't paying me all my money. The
Government kept taking some of my money
    and calling it "Taxes"

THE U.S. GOVERNMENT IS A SCAM!

I tried Investing in Real Estate. I was doing
rehabs like you might see on the TV show
"Flip That House". I didn't KNOW What the
heck I was doing and lost a lot of money

    REAL ESTATE IS A SCAM!

I bought a Grocery Store for $125K. Things
were going OK until Another Grocery store
opened directly across the street and cut my
    business in half

    GROCERY STORES ARE A SCAM!

I had to go to the bathroom. Can you believe
I had to wipe my butt myself and nobody
    would do it for me?

    BODILY FUNCTIONS ARE A SCAM!

I tried a few MLMS. I didn't make any effort
to work the business because it would interfere
    with Watching Wheel of Fortune

    MLM IS A SCAM!!!

oh woe is me life is just a minefield of scams!

I think I'll go to scam.com and whine

To Cantstandalier - I am wondering if you are even living up to your screen name. In your first post you act like you know the author of the article and imply that he molested a child and ask if he is a pedophile. In your following posts, you indicate that you do not even know the man. No I have never tried to make it in the MLM world. I value the relationship with my family and friends too much to try to get them involved in a legalized pyramid scheme. I have watched my brother, who totally believes in MonaVie, work many hours and with multitudes of people not succeed with this product or the MLM way of selling the product. Are you going to be the one to tell him that he is a failure because he doesn't care about the product or the people he is introducing it to? I think the reason that he is not making money at it is BECAUSE he does care about the people he introduces MonaVie to. He doesn't try to force them and he doesn't make false medical claims. He is honestly trying to make money at this and can not. YOU be the one to tell him that he is not working hard enough at it and that it is not the product or the fact that it is being sold in a MLM scheme that is causing his failure.
By the way, you could be sued for libel for implying that Tony Dokoupil molested a child and is a pedophile.

  • Posted By: Report2FTC @ 08/28/2008 12:20:15 AM

Cantstandalier, How do you fail at something you do not start? After reading the Newsweek article and the blogs, I did my research on Monavie. There is no monetary value in this business, nothing to support it to claim it is nothing more than a clever scam. Now I'm simply pointing out why MonaVie is a Scam, with lots of facts to back up my statements. However you cannot back up with facts that Monavie is not a fraud or that the juice is nothing but an overpriced product that serves no health benefits.

Interesting on how you comment about you listen to what people want and need. Sounds like A Perfect Salesmen! That is your entry way to scam someone for a monthly business investment of 150-400, depends on how many cases one wishes to drain down the kitchen pipe or sell on ebay. So really.. you only care about their wallet.

Newsweek article is a fiction you say and incorrect. . This article by Newsweek puts a huge dent on Monavie for exposing a pyramid marketing scheme with disgruntle reps using deceptive tactics to build their business, taught by non-other than Dallin Larsen himself. There are no facts that support Monavies health benefits.

    • Posted By: Report2FTC @ 08/28/2008 12:22:59 AM

I will emphasis why Monavie is a Scheme.
Too many crooks involved with Monavie, along with the clinical study that was done on the juice.

FDA site on Dynamic Essentials a company Dallin Larsen, owner of Monavie, was a V.P. for, before it was shutdown by the FDA for making false claims for treating various diseases like cancer, arthritis and ADD using Royal Tongan Limu Juice. A lot of juice companies go down the same way. You would think Dallin would of cleaned up false claims being made by Monavie Reps.

      http://www.fda.gov/bbs/topics/NEWS/2003/NEW00976.html

Audio Links with Dallin Larsen raving about the health benefits of Royal Tongan Limu, before the FDA shut them down for deceptive tactics like these training calls.

      - he uses a lot of deceptive comments on this call, much like he does with Monavie.

Dr. Alexander G. Schauss who did the 12 person clinical study on MonaVie juice is a fraud according to The National Council Against Health Fraud. Dr. Schauss office was raided by the FDA and seized illegally imported drugs, unapproved medical devices and other items at the clinic. How bogus is the Monavie clinical study now?

FDA Warning issued to MonaVie and sales reps for making unethical medical claims. FDA is not done with MonaVie yet, after a cyber warning, they keep MonaVie on the Radar. With all these reps making medical claims and giving their name, phone number and website out, the FDA has a way to hit Monavie hard.

      http://www.fda.gov/cder/warn/cyber/2007/UTVokes.pdf

For a privately held company, they sure do have a lot of complaints on the Better Business Bureau website!

Lawsuit filed by Quixstar (Amway) against Monavie for making unethical medical claims in order to build their business back in March of 08. Quixstars intent for the suit is to help protect the MLM industry from MonaVies deceptive tactics to build a business. Many examples was provided with Doctors making speeches of falsely claiming MonaVie cures cancer. The docket link does cost 8 cents per page to review the court case.

    To: THE-REAL-DEAL-RIGHT-HERE,

    You don't get it either.

You are advertising your product on this site because you are too lazy to what it takes to build a true network.

Network Marketing is about building relationships with people, it's not just signing people up so you can make money. People don't really care about your product.

You might sign a few people up on here but you will never earn the kind of income you desire until you learn how to serve others.

  • Posted By: cantstandalier @ 08/27/2008 7:50:47 PM

To: Report2FTC, your other personalities, and all the other hatefilled and angry people on here...(continued)

In spite of this, I really appreciated the article because the exposure to Monavie and the free advertising is awsome. Everyone knows that every successful company has it's opponents. If I were in another juice company or AMWAY I might feel envious of Monavie's success too. I am proud that we are getting attention! Any time an article like this comes out, I carry it with me and show it to my prospects. It's a fantastic way to start conversations and my sponsoring rate sky-rockets. I bring new people in the business and they start off being immune to all your kind of negativity. A true professional knows how to turn everything into a positive!

No matter what you do, you will never stop this incredible industry called network marketing. It is probably one of the greatest examples of free enterprise that has ever been created. Imagine, a business where your success is only limited by how far you can see and how far you are willing to go to get there. Networking is all about HELPING other people. Too bad you never stuck it out long enough to learn this. What a waste of your life's energy. You could be a positive force in peoples lives but instead elect to spread your hate and anger out on anyone unfortunate enough to hear it.

Success is a journey my friend. It takes among other things, hard work, belief, faith, persistence and determination. I hope you figure it out before you end up like all the negative people before you......broke, sick, stupid, ugly and full of regrets.

Oh yeah...one more thing. You obviously didn't believe one word of my previous post did you?

    I rest my case.

    God Bless.

  • Posted By: cantstandalier @ 08/27/2008 7:49:47 PM

Your biggest problem is that no one really believes in or even cares about what YOU have to say. YOU truly do not influence anyone because, again, it's all about YOU and people do not respond well, nor do they take seriously or care about what YOU want. They patrionize your negativity and shake their head in agreement and at the same time they are just wanting something positive. People respond very well to positive. I can have someone read every word on this stupid blog and then within the hour I can turn around and sponsor them into Monavie or any other network marketing company.

The difference between YOU and me is that I listen to people, I understand what they want and need and I show them how to get it. They know I care about THEM. I help people believe in themselves and I help them earn money.....yes and a lot of money. I teach them how to do the business correctly and how to duplicate themselves. You see, it's all about helping others get what they want. I know you don't agree but you are still in denial. That's OK, there is always hope and it's not too late for you...

Tony Dokoupil is really a nobody. Oh sure, he's having this short burst of attention as he hoped he would but he will never earn any Pulizer prizes for this pathetic work of fiction. He and the news media knows that bad news sells. He admitted he had already "heard tons of positive testimonials" but he purposely sought out people who were negative. Jeez, in my experience you don't need to go far to find someone who has something negative to say about everything. His article was not true journalism. It was biased, incorrect and opinionated??????..(to be continued)

  • Posted By: cantstandalier @ 08/27/2008 7:47:01 PM

To: Report2FTC, your other personalities, and all the other hatefilled and angry people on here...

The reason YOU are so angry and upset is because YOU failed miserably in network marketing, didn't YOU? This applies to all the other people on this site who quit before figuring out what makes one person totally successful in networking and another person a total failure. Why else would YOU spend so much time and energy on this website? Don't pretend it's because YOU care so much for other people. Who elected YOU the peoples advocate and caretaker anyway?

Everyone who has acheived success in network marketing knows your kind very well. YOU like to blame your failure on everything and everyone except yourself. YOU are the kind of person who only thinks of himself. This is one of the main reasons YOU failed at networking and the reason YOU will probably fail at everything else YOU do. YOU are selfish and do not truly care about other people. If you do achieve any kind of success it will only be temporary.

I am guessing YOU joined Monavie or some other company, then talked to everyone about how YOU were going to get rich. YOU did all the talking and you talked and talked and talked and talked.... Then YOU realized that no one was joining YOU. If YOU did sponsor someone, it's probably because YOU wore them down and they said yes just to get YOU off their back, right? Then they didn't go out and make YOU any money did they? Then YOU got mad at them, didn't you? Instead of learning what YOU were doing wrong and making corrections YOU just quit. YOU just blamed everything on others. YOU probably quit everything else, don't YOU. The problem is that YOU and your kind are a bore and no one really wants to hear what YOU have to say. Unfortunately, there are more people like YOU (selfish) running around than people who have the ability to lead and lift people up.

I have seen hundreds of people just like YOU come and go. Every time it's the same thing. Shift the focus off of YOUR FAILURE and blame it on someone else. YOU work so hard trying to get people to believe that the company or the product is a fraud or a scam. YOU spew out hatred and anger. It must suck to be YOU because YOU obviously do not have peace and joy in your life. Peace and Joy cannot exist where there is hate and anger. All YOU WANT is the company to be shut down so YOU can somehow justify your failure because as long as the company exists, it's in your face reminding YOU what a loser and a quitter YOU are.

You see, it's all about YOU, isn???t it?........(to be continued)

    I found this on www.lazymanandmoney.com ...

I have seen Monavie distributors say that Larson left the company in 2002, before DE was shut down, implying that he did so because he objected to DE???s business practices, essentially trying to exonerate Larsen of any responsibility for the company???s well-publicized misdeeds. In fact, Larsen was clearly a fundamental source for the fraudulent notion that DE???s juice could cure diseases.

2002 ??? DE produces a series of distributor training audio recordings (???RTL Weekly Conference Calls???) in January to February 2002 promoting RTL juice and the RTL distributorship opportunity. The recordings feature Dallin Larsen making (and encouraging others to make) explicit and implicit claims that RTL juice can treat and prevent a variety of diseases, including arthritis, asthma, cancer, ADD, heart disease, diabetes, high cholesterol, lupus, fibromyalgia, cystic fibrosis, and migraines.

Newsweek needs another article with the headlines: ( MonaVie Reps Suffer From Severe Behavioral Problems )

You know that burning sensation you get in the back of your throat after drinking a nutritional supplement like Monavie, it is the preservatives in that supplement and from what I have gathered, it is a strong burn to the throat for new drinkers. MonaVie is not so nutritional now, is it! Sodium benzoate has been linked to ADD and other impulsive behavior, it is no wonder Monavie reps are flipped out.

Studies show what Sodium benzoate harms children, imagine what it is doing to the reps and their families.
Read this article about removing additives and preservatives from school lunch. There was a study done in Australia to see what kids behavior was like after removing preservatives and additives from school lunches. I kept reading about it, but could not find the study on it just yet.

Unfortunately with all the pesticides put on our fruit today you will never get the nutrients you would from drinking Mona Vie. We also don't have access to some of the fruits used in Mona Vie. Additionally b/c of poor soil our fruit doesn't have the nutritional value that it use to!!
Mona Vie is a fruit-c'mon how hard of an equation can this be? The fruit used has not been sprayed with chemicals before we ingest them-thank goodness. I personally eat lots of fruit and wash it best I can and drink Mona Vie. It's a health supplement. I'm a healthy person! I enjoy the taste and the cost is nothing compared to so many items our bodies don't need...like that over priced Starbucks for example.

Organochlorine pesticides are conventionally used in commercial wolfberry cultivation to mitigate destruction of the delicate berries by insects. Since the early 21st century, high levels of pyrethroid insecticide residues (including fenvalerate and cypermethrin) and fungicide residues (such as triadimenol), have been detected by the United States Food and Drug Administration in some imported wolfberries and wolfberry products of Chinese origin, leading to the seizure of these products.[18] Due to the demand for organic products in the West, some Chinese growers are beginning to experiment with integrated pest management and to explore the possibility of obtaining organic certification, something that has not yet been publicly disclosed for Chinese wolfberry farms and products.

Some Western resellers may state that their wolfberries are organically grown when in fact they are not. The Green Certificate claimed by some wolfberry marketers to be the equivalent of the United States Department of Agriculture's "USDA Organic" seal[19] is in actuality simply an agricultural training program for China's rural poor.[20] China's Green Food Standard,[21] administered by the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture's China Green Food Development Center, does permit some amount of pesticide and herbicide use.[22][23][24]

Despite some claims that wolfberries sold in Europe, the United States, and Canada meet organic standards[citation needed], there is no public evidence for standardized organic certification of wolfberries from the Asian regions where they are commercially grown. Often, these berries are marketed as Tibetan or Himalayan Goji Berries that have been "wild crafted" or "wild harvested". On the contrary, however, Tibet's agriculture conventionally uses fertilizers and pesticides, and neither wolfberries ("goji") of Tibetan or Himalayan origin sold outside Tibet nor organic certification of such berries have been proved[25].
Wolfberry is in MonaVie. How can you claim that none of the fruits in MonaVie have been exposed to pesticides?

Tony, WOW! Long time no see! We didn't know where you went. You kind of disappeared on us after the Amway scandal. Is it true you are still doing Amway? Man, I thought you would be retired by now. I see you are now working at Newsweek? That's amazing! I met someone the other day and found out they knew you too. I couldn't believe it when they showed me the article you wrote trying to dis-credit that juice company. They said you were upset because that juice company really hurt the Amway company and that people were leaving Amway in droves. No wonder you don't like that company, I would be angry too if my Amway business suffered like that! Thank God I had the good sense to leave Amway shortly after the scandal. They say you molested that 8yr old boy at the meeting. You aren't a pedophile are you? I hope not because you were always babysitting someones kid. Anyway, I can't believe it. Well, good luck in your Newsweek business. I hope your Amway business gets better too. Try not to be too angry because anger only hurts the one who's angry. Hope to see you again soon!

Libel - An untruthful statement about a person, published in writing or through broadcast media, that injures the person's reputation or standing in the community. Because libel is a tort (a civil wrong), the injured person can bring a lawsuit against the person who made the false statement. Libel is a form of defamation , as is slander (an untruthful statement that is spoken, but not published in writing or broadcast through the media).
Tort - An injury to one person for which the person who caused the injury is legally responsible. A tort can be intentional -- for example, an angry punch in the nose -- but is far more likely to result from carelessness (called "negligence"), such as riding your bicycle on the sidewalk and colliding with a pedestrian. While the injury that forms the basis of a tort is usually physical, this is not a requirement -- libel, slander and the "intentional infliction of mental distress" are on a good-sized list of torts not based on a physical injury.
You had better hope that you can't be traced through the internet. He can sue you now.

A $40 sugar pill is such a great idea! Talk about your modern snake-oil. There are so many of these cure all juice knock -offs. There's some moron that shows up my work trying to sell Via Viente which claims to "cure" asthma, cancer, etc. Comes in the same cheesy wine bottle and the same price tag. Here's an idea... instead of paying $40 for the juice, why not eat the ACTUAL fruit for a couple dollars. You health cultists should see the potenial in eating the fruit naturally!

    • Posted By: GetYourFactsRight @ 08/25/2008 10:32:49 AM

Hey Michigander08, I agree, people SHOULD be eating fresh high quality fruit. But they don't. MonaVie is another solution for those people that don't get the nutrients that they should be getting. MonaVie is a solution and not the cause of people not eating properly. Please continue to get all people to eat freash fruit, and until that day comes MonaVie will be here to help those people to stay healthy..

I didn't make the assumption that MonaVie is the cause of people not eating properly, don't jump to conclusions. MonaVie is not a solution, it's a SUPPLEMENT. Nothing beats eating real fruits and vegtables. Get your facts straight. : )

That's true, you didn't say that MonaVie was the cause, but you did say it's no better than a sugar pill, and a $40 one to boot. I think you also used snake oil. Not sure what you are basing your information on, but what you are saying is pure speculation, and if not then by all means please cite the resources you used to come up with the sugar pill and snake oil theory.

Xanthone is an organic compound with the molecular formula C13H8O2. It can be prepared by the heating of phenyl salicylate.[2] In 1939, xanthone was introduced as an insecticide and it currently finds uses as ovicide for codling moth eggs and as a larvicide.[3] Xanthone is also used in the preparation of xanthydrol which used in the determination of urea levels in the blood.
The chemical structure of xanthone forms the central core of a variety of naturally occurring organic compounds, such as mangostin, which are sometimes collectively referred to as xanthones.[4] Over 200 xanthones have been identified. Xanthones are natural constituents of plants in the families Bonnetiaceae and Clusiaceae and are found in some species in the family Podostemaceae.[5] Many of these xanthones are found in the pericarp of the mangosteen fruit (Garcinia mangostana), which can be found in the region of Southeast Asia.
Synthetic derivatives of xanthone can be added during the polymerization of polyester, to form a plastic that has a greater resistance to degradation by ultraviolet light.[citation needed] The most useful derivative is tetrahydroxyxanthone. Polyester film can be used for the production of third generation printed solar cells, to make them a cost effective alternative to silica-based solar energy generation. It was originally intended that the additive be used for polyester greenhouses in hot climates, where the plastic would degrade after a few years from UV exposure. The xanthone-treated product has an extended useful lifetime of ten years instead of three.

I am shocked that anyone would want to put the base for plastics and insecticide in their bodies and call it healthy.
