I am not a MonaVie distributor, please read my entire comment...
Many of you missed the point of the article. MonaVie does not claim to be the miracle cure or to be a get rich quick solution. Many people have experienced miraculous health benefits from the Acai berry. Don't dismiss the fact the article clearly states that MonaVie representatives are just drinking the juice. This would obviously skew the numbers referencing the amount of people who qualified for commissions. You pay a small fee and get discounts on product. Why not? I do not want to participate in the MLM and sale to my friends and family but I will take a discount.
My sister has personally experienced the health benefits of the Acai berry. She suffers from Systemic Lupus and Fibromyalgia. She has been through many years of joint pain, swelling, sleepless nights and chronic pain. She has taken multiple medications and has not found anything that truly relieves her symptoms. After taking MonaVie for 4 days she called me to tell me she had experienced a miracle! She slept through an entire night and is pain free. She also uses the restroom on a daily basis which is something we both have struggled with for too long. Every since then she has been trying to shove MonaVie down my throat, annoying! It is an expensive regimen so I refuse to buy the product. But, I was interested to see if there was another option that offered a product with the same health benefits at a more affordable price.
Someone please let me know if you have the answer to this question???
What nutritional benefits does the MonaVie blend offer that cannot be found in the Acai berry alone? I was unable to find any!
After extensive research I found a product that is 100% organic, MonaVie is not, and uses no preservatives, MonaVie does use preservatives. It is also cheaper and consists of 31oz of Acai puree and 1oz of concordia grape concentrate in a 32oz bottle. The grape is to add sweetness as the Acai berry is a bit tart. 2oz/day = 6000 ORAC, not to mention all the other abundant nutrients. 1 Bottle lasts for more than 2 weeks @ as little as $27/bottle including shipping! Want more information just email me @ acaiquestions@live.com
MonaVie has become a billion dollar company through the exploitation of its distributors and media exposure. MonaVie uses fruits from China that have been sprayed with pesticides. If we are trying to cleanse our body, why would we ingest something that has pesticides and preservatives? MonaVie is adding cheap fillers to their blend and over charging people for the product. Oprah raves about the Acai berry. Do you know what company supplied the Acai berry for the Oprah show? I do!
Like I said I did extensive research. There was one other company that I took an interest in and contacted them with questions. Their response was full of BS so I responded with facts and never heard from them again! If you want a truly quality Acai product at a great price email me.

This product is the best thing that has happened to my husband and I. We call it our "fountain of youth" in a bottle. If 4 ounces a day equals 13 servicings of fruits and vegetables, why wouldn't one drink it? Most people in this country don't get the required 5 servings of fruits and vegetables a day. Saying we did (but we don't), and you average $1 (conservatively) per serving, that would justify the cost of the Mona Vie. You'll feel better, your skin will look better, you'll have more energy, you'll sleep better and you'll have an overall sense of well being like you've never had before. Put your money towards something that's good for you -- not McDonalds, not Coke, not Pepsi, etc.

    Why not?!

Drink it. Feel it. Share it...and live longer!

When I start feeling a cold coming on, I drink some Mona Vie and in a couple of hours I have FULL-BLOWN AIDS. This of course completely distracts me from my cold and has the side effect of making me a Millionaire! I'm so tired of hearing these bashers call this a "scam" (to use the vernacular out there) when they don't even know because they have never come down with FULL-BLOWN AIDS before in their life! My uplie tells me they are all wrong or how else would this be able to be? How would all the Baby-Boomers know to want it? Pardon the pun but it sounds like "sour grapes" to me!

I have been drinking Monavie for a couple months and it has eliminated my elbow pain that I had from an injury 25 years ago. Therefore, it has improved my golf game ( no more slice ) .

For all of you MonaVie distributors **making even one comment about MonaVie** you do realize that you are in violation of the basic policies and procedures that MonaVie has required you all to abide by...right? MonaVie Compliance Department will view your statements as deceptive. Now that you put your information out there you can sure bet MonaVie compliance department will terminate your position. All your defensive lashing out post was all for nothing.

    Newsweek,

Thank you for this story, you just stumbled across a pyramid scheme, (Binary Comp Plan) otherwise know as Split Pyramid, in the making and awakened a mob of deceptive brainwashed angry cult sales reps. Now that your blog allows for the FDA and FTC to have proof of a dozen soon to be hundreds of violations and deceptive statements this company will be shut down very soon. Many Juice company pyramids went down the same way and most used the Split Pyramid Method only to stay in business for a little longer.

You actually think a Billion bollar per year company gets "shut down".. LOL ! Why are there TV commericals at night with "scamway" still alive and well.. Mona will never be "shut down" ..it just may lose momentum due to other companies that have beat them at thier own game like www.myjus23.com/groundzero

Also, maybe you should read the US governments description of a "pyramid scheme". If you did, you would clearly see Mona does not fit the description. A pyramid has no viable product just a business opportunity. Educate Yourself !!

MonaVie reps, MonaVie reps so brainwashed into this scheme.
Here is toa FDA WARNING!!! link http://www.fda.gov/cder/warn/cyber/2007/UTVokes.pdf
There is no denying that MonaVie is still on the FDA radar. Many companies have gone down just because a Sales Rep posted false claims about a juice the way many MonaVie reps are doing today on Myspace.com and Youtube.com and this blog. This must mean that MonaVie Sales Reps are in denial if you say otherwise. FDA standard procedures is that they come back to review a company for a full year on any medical claims after a they issue a cyber warning a year prior. Sounds like the FTC is also getting a hand on this company, because all the customers are the reps, which is another Violation in FTC regulations.

This just proves that Mona Vie is hitting the mainstream. People all over the U. S. including celebrities are realizing how good the product is. It's delicious, healthy and does relieve some physical and mental ailments. See for yourself!

I was very disappointed in newsweek after reading this article. First off, as with any business you have to be willing to put in the work and be aggressive to be successful. We don't claim that MonaVie will make you a millionaire over night. Look at any successful company...the richest are at the top and there are very few of them. Saying that MonaVie is some scam is saying that any business structure is a scam using that logic. Myself nor my team has ever promoted MonaVie as a cure. As a matter of fact, we always are sure to state that it is just JUICE. We do however share all the wonderful stories we hear about the things that its doing for people as well as ourselves. I sleep better and have more energy. 12 years ago I broke my back and am plagued with back aches which rarely if ever arise anymore. I would much rather be spending $4 a day to put something good for me in my body and give up those starbucks coffee's and mcdonald's hamburgers. Why are we willing to pay hundreds of dollars a month on fastfood, takeout, coffee, energy drinks, and the like but we think that MonaVie is SOOO expensive??? As for the business side, I can't really say what's in the future for me on that end but why not earn a little extra, meet some wonderful people, while putting something healthy in my body at the same time? I see it as a win win situation. I encourage everyone who isn't isn't already a MonaVie drinker to find a local tasting and really see what it's about.

This just proves that Mona Vie is hitting the mainstream. People all over the U.S. and other parts of the world including celebrities are coming to realize how good this product is. When taken consistently there is relief of some ailments. Personally I no longer suffer from horrible PMS or arthritis pain. The entire family including sibblings and in-laws are drinkers, not to mentioin the dog who has fully recovered from transitional carcinoma, a very aggressive form of cancer!

Today is the first day since I signed up with Monavie, the most lucrative Network Marketing ???scam???, to use the vernacular, out there. I decided to write this blog in order to end this 30 year debate about the legitamacy of the this ???business model.??? Some people believe it is an imposibly pyramidal structure that only favors the top 1% of the company. (my upline tells me it favors 95% of the company). Other people claim it is a way for the ???everyday man??? to make millions of dollars working 2 -3 hours a day just sharing the product with friends. Both sides can agree on one thing???.that using propaganda and distorted facts is the best way to prove there point. (i am reminded of a quote by Mark Twain, ???first you get the facts, then you distort them at your leisure???). So since I know blogging is the only definitive way of reporting I made sure to do my research and sign up with someone who is going to keep me excited and on track (the people who have succeeded in network marketing who also happen to be the people who support it claim that the failing salesmen have???nt tried hard enough). Interesting sidenote: my upline is the same upline I had whe I lost my some money trying to sell Pre-Paid Legal as a 19 year-old (great idea!!!! all the baby-boomers would love to take legal advice from me). So I did some research and found that Monavie was the best of the new wave of anti-oxidant products because of the compensation plan and proven system (according to my upline.) Finally, this blog is ABSOLUTELY unbiased??????.as of right now. Tune in soon for the ???cult like meeting.???

Its the same way a corporation works.. !! If you're a one percenter you look for young MLM's with a great business plan and model, not the biggest one with the most distributors pitching your prospects.. get it ??

The last paragraph of this article is not an accurate representation of what is happening at all. The fact is that the majority of people never do much of anything. The more accurate measurement would be: What percentace of Active distributors that share the business at least 15 times per month and have done so for 12 months are qualifying for commissions.

The people that are not qualifying for commisions are not doing anything on a consistent basis. Do you expect to start any business and poke it with a stick and expect it to work. Come on...think through this folks.

I would certainly rather try a juice (I prefer the purer Acai with no added ingredients - it's called Amazon Thunder, and it is NOT an MLM)
than a pill that claims to have Vitamin C in it and may be processed in China.

In today's economy, so many people are suffering with job loss, layoffs, cut-backs -- even the price of gas. I am surprised that Newsweek would choose to denigrate a company who offers a legitimate way to earn a living and help other people at the same time. Direct selling is a sales channel of choice for millions of people. It appears to me as though MonaVie is providing a career opportunity for a whole lot of folks -- plus a top-notch product to boot. I hope that the color purple reigns for a long, long time.

Monavie has more employees in the compliance department than any other department. They look at posts like these and other sites where individuals are trying to market their product in an unapproved method like selling on ebay. If you are a destributor and you use posts like this to make radical claims that are against regulations, then you are working against the very company you are trying to defend. I personally know several people that have amazing testimonies of many different ways that this product has helped them, but I will not post it on the internet because I am not supposed to! Just keep in mind that when you signed up to be a distributor, that you agreed to certain requirements. Study up on your policies and procedures so that you can avoid getting into trouble and possibily have your business revoked. Above all, remain professional. Responding in kind to inmature and uneducated negativity is not the proper way to represent Monavie. It is a great business with incredible ethics and new people signing up every day. Just keep building it and the nay-sayers will lose their grip.

Where else can you get the benefit of 19 fruits in 4 oz a day? The price of MonaVie is very cost effective if you consider trying to buy the same great fruits in your store which you can never find them all, Plus the way Monarch Health Science processes the Acai berry gives you all the benefits that the little purple berry has to offer, I agree that the author Mr.Dokoupil NEVER intended to write a positive factual article on Monavie in fact he may be better for Scfi. I have read several great articles about the results of MonaVie; I can say this from my own point of view and experience. I started drinking MonaVie for 8 months before I ever thought about the business side , I was too busy for any kind of business and I was looking to buy stock in the company after I had several good results, Weight loss, sleeping better, Less back pain I decided I would rather buy it wholesale than retail. We all need to get back to a good point of nutrition in our daily lives; it starts with us and changing our habits of fast foods. Monavie is a starting place. Who cares how it???s marketed as long as it???s available. Anyone can contact me about this product, I have been a consumer now for three years and my whole family takes it and fells great. fcinv@yahoo.com 904-625-0029

Wow, now thats professional journalism. Isn't funny that after ripping on people making claims, he does the same thing "a NEWSWEEK reporter who took the MonaVie daily dose???two ounces, twice a day???for two weeks, didn't experience the drink's miraculous benefits, and got headaches. (Then again, that might have been because he got new glasses.)"
Wow, two weeks hugh? Truth is, when people feel results, you cant argue with them. I would suggest taking for three months, studying the scientific data, before acting like an expert on the subject. The idea behind the product is this; are you taking the recommended servings of fruits and veggies? If not, why? If you can drink a juice that could help give you some of the benefits (antioxidants) of fruits and veggies, how much is that worth to you? If the product did not have value, why are people buying it? Coke, Pepsi, amd other addictive beverages are killing people (very slowly) and how much do they cost? Just flavor, sugar and water, what a scam! And Its killing People! (Or at least not helping poeple live very healthy) Why not do articles on how junk food and fast food are destroying our peoples' health. Go back and do some research from credible sources, and quit getting your info from such a crappy "journalist" as this, and remember, if you the think the juice is overpriced, then go buy the other stuff. I really doubt that over a million people would not buy it regularly, if they felt it wasn't worth it. LOGIC
