if people were this adament about smoking, booze, coffee ,fast food, fried foods, any kind of dope,we would be in very good shape and never get sick.of course i forgot we are a country of know it alls.i wonder what the reaction will be when people with cancer are confronted with a cure.!!!do you think they will refuse to accept it because it may be a pyramid, or a scam by the medical field, or over a $100 a month to take. i have to laugh at most skeptics because their to lazy or stupid to accept something they don't want to understand.i live in mich. and if youcan't find some one drinking mona-vie, please e-mail me at raylkay@sbcglobal.net and i will help you out.

Yeah, people are too "educated" for their own good. They scoff at the idea that God might have made whole, complete foods that work wonders for our body. It reminds me of a pharmacist friend who got livid with me over the fact that a lady was buying cinnamon capsules at the store. Nevermind that they succeed in lowering blood pressure and cholesterol levels, it's a slap in the face to those who've spent 8 years learning everything there is to know about pharmaceutical drugs but not a thing about nutrition. Pride comes before the fall, and this country is full of prideful, arrogant people who think they know everything but really don't know much at all.

Mona Vie is a great product with an Orac score of score of 692 . The ORAC Tesl: Refers to the "Oxygen Radical A bsorbance Capacity of a juice-based liquid. Chemicals are added to each product sample and the liquid's abiliry to oxidize, or absorb, the chernical agent is observed. The hgher the atsorption the higher the ORAC score, and the higher the antioxidant capacity. But move over Mona Vie theres a new kid in town "Jus and no one can touch its 8,687 ORAC in comparison. Like other learned folks in the posts below, I am flabbergasted that a supposedly respected ???news??? magazine would allow one biased journalist???s opinions to be passed off as factual reporting. I actually was gifted a subscription by redeeming some flyer miles, so it cost me nothing. But this publication is worth that and my time is precious. Therefore I will notify you, under separate cover, to cancel my subscription.

    • Posted By: butterfly66 @ 08/06/2008 2:20:19 PM

OMG, it's an article, like any other magazine, articles are usually written by biased journalists. Hello it's called reporting. It doesn't say the juice is crap, it hints that this is a pyramid scheme. Any rational person knows that it is, regardless of the benefits of the juice. And everyone is different, it's not going to make everyone happy and healthy and on the same note it's not going to give everyone cramps and headaches. ITS NOT ABOUT THE JUICE PEOPLE. It's called a marketing pyramid and if done correctly, completely legal in the USA. GEEEEEEZZZZ... Now get on with your day and either drink it or sell it. Stop bitching about it

      • Posted By: Worldley @ 08/06/2008 9:11:57 PM

Do you know what constitutes an "illegal pyramid scheme"? Most people don't know and act like they know but they don't know because you only know what you've learned and not heard for if you only heard then you easily forget but if you learn and apply that which you now know as TRUTH then you are a much wiser person in the end. Indeed.....

It saddens me that people in this world look so much at the negative in life. Why do people enjoy putting down others form of income? do we put down dentists? or electricians? it's another form of income. The only thing that Mona Vie and the rest of the distributors in the company want for anyone is to help other people by giving them a Healthy, Wealthy, and Wise way of living. Mona Vie is in all ways, a fair company, and in many ways, more than fair. I'm hearing alot about the expense. How much does it cost to start your own business? $100,000? $500,000? more? To start your own business in Mona Vie, their is only a $35 beginning fee that comes with a pack, Plus your first Case of Mona Vie. No more than $200. If people have the opportunity to help familys that are already living pay check to paycheck, by giving them money in their wallets every week, and a Healthy life, what more do people want? I never said this business was for everyone, but why do those that don't want to take part in this opportunity have to put it down? I don't put down the job that you are going to an interview for. Again, I would just love to see people looking at the positive side of life. Let's be happy for those that are becoming financially free. Let's spread the wealth. I wish the best and for better to come to each and every one of you! I would love to speak with anyone that has questions. If i don't have an answer, I know someone that does. Any questions feel free to get ahold of me through my email or website.

It is obvious that this reporter did not do his homework on this story. There is no requirement to sell 8 bottles or any for that fact. If you want to make commissions, you have to buy one case a month. It makes sense if you are going to sell something you have to buy some but I've never been in the red on this deal. If 70% are dropping out then how are the sales hitting $1 Billion dollars? Those numbers don't make sense. I certainly haven't had that experience. He's totally discounted the nutritional value for which there are many scientific studies to support as noted by the post by ACAIRN below. They make network marketing sound like the ultimate scam because they don't know how many good products are sold that way. Would you call Warren Buffett a scammer? He's a pretty smart guy and he owns one, Pampered Chef. Their products are fabulous and their distributors are great hardworking people just like the people who have invested their time in Monavie. You have to question the credibility of a news organization when this is the quality of reporting they provide. I understand people's skeptism, but honestly - this is just really good fruit juice folks. It's good for you and it's fun. Get over the negative hype. Those of us who have done our research and drink the product know what's up and we just learned a little something about Newsweek too.

    • Posted By: ACAIRN @ 08/06/2008 8:40:47 PM

Awesome! I would also like to mention that several excellent references about Monavie are made in the new book " New Prescriptions for Childhood Obesity" by Billy C. Johnson MD, PhD. Mr. Dokoupil should also contact him. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER...GET EDUCATED

THIS IS HORRIBLE SCAM, NOT ONLY THESE PEOPLE ARE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THOSE INNOCENT PEOPLE WHOM BUY THE EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE JUICE, BUT ITS RUINNING THE COUNTRY OF BRAZIL. WHAT ARE THEY THINKING? THEY ARE GIVING THE FRUIT ITSELF A BAD NAME BY FALSE ADVERTISING AND THEY ARE TAKING AWAY A PRECIOUS PART OF THE BRAZILIAN CULTURE AWAY. THESE PEOPLE AREN'T HELPING THE BRAZILIAN CHILDREN OR RAINFOREST; IF THEY WANNA HELP, WHY THEY DON'T DONATE SOME OF THE MONEY TO THE POOR KIDS STARVING? OR HELP THE AMAZON NOT LOSE OUT THEIR TREES TO CORPORATIONS WILLING TO POLUTE MORE AND MORE OF THE PURE AIR THE AMAZON PROVIDES US? MONAVIE OUT TO BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELF AND QUIT THE LIES.

Juliana....Monavie does help out the Amazon. They help families, children, education, and
much more. Buy them buying the Acai Berry from them, they receive income. They are replenishing the fruit constantly therefore...the trees are not being chopped down. Don't blast them with terrible accusations until you do your research....Ida

      • Posted By: savetheamazontodaydotcom @ 08/06/2008 8:20:47 PM

Wow! You really don't know anything about the company or the product. MonaVie has a non-profit organization in Brazil specifically providing healthcare services and job skills training to the poor. The larger the company gets, the more the company will be able to help. They are constantly expanding the help they are giving to the poor.

Plus, because because MonaVie is purchasing large quantities of Acai and other fruits and nuts from the Amazon local poplulation, they have provided an income to them that encourages the preservation of the Rainforest. They have already been successfull in saving thousands of acres of Rainforest from being burned down for cattle pasture, logging, or farming of Soybeans.

For more info on the problems with the Rainforest, its link to Global Warming, and the only proven solution, go to http://www.savetheamazontoday.com/ .

You are so right! I just barely escaped this scam. I've never tasted the product. The "recruiter" kept somehow not being able to get me a free bottle of Monavie, finally he told me that because so many people were signing up I really should just pay the $39.00 fee and order a caseload so I didn't miss the chance to start making money. When I said I wouldn't sign up for a product I had never tried. No one ever called me agin. Before that is wwas three times a day.
      I'm just saying....

I have been reading where the 70% of the people that drop out just did not know how to market. You think before the company took everyones money they would teach everyone how to market that wants to do the business. In the past I got taken up by the Hype, invested money that I could not afford and then I was on my own. If it works for you , great!

  • Posted By: bernesia @ 08/06/2008 4:35:08 PM

First of all, I don't see any one questioning doctors about the wonderful medicine that they give us when we go to them. Does anyone question the side effects that occur when taking the doctors' medicine. I don't think so.When it comes to natural herbs and natural products there is always remarks about it being overhype and that these products just don't work, I think you should do your research very well about them all and find out for your self if there is any side effect like the ones that our daughters get when they are being told by our loving doctors that they need this super vaccination called the HPV vaccination. I guess not. So before you pass judgement honey, please do your research.

Friends I would like to respectfully remind all my fellow distributors ( especially our Black Diamonds -Mr. Hortog) that it is against Monavie's compliance policy to solicit distributors on this or any other blog . I believe that it is our "enthusiasm" to recruit distributors that often gives us negative press. I hope that we will all use this golden oppurtunity to educate the readers of this blog woth the honesty and integrity that is Monavie's trademark

As an RN I would have hoped that Mr. Dokoupil would have spent some time researching the scientific evidence supporting Monavie and it's consumption. Since he obviously failed to do this I will try my best to educate him.

Dr. Alex Schauss, PhD, the world recognized expert on the Acai berry has done extensive research not only on Acai but also on Monavie. He has studied nutrition for over 30 years, has help positions in the National Insitute of Health and is the recepient of the Linus Pauling Award for his contributions to medical sciences. Dr. Schauss is NOT a distributor and has no finacial ties to Monavie YET it is the ONLY acai product he endorses. I suggest Mr. Dokoupil contact him to help enlighten his very biased views.

I would also hope that everyone takes a few minutes to really understand network marketing before makin "pyramid" claims. I would start by reading the articles written by famous financial economist Paul Zane Pilzner who writes " The New Wellness Revolution
In 2002, The Wellness Revolution defined an industry and outlined an emerging $200 billion industry. Today, wellness has grown to $500 billion and it's still just getting started, offering even greater entrepreneurial opportunities. I would also like to note that Monavie distributors are paid weekly with a Visa Debit card....Visa is a global financial insitution who would not endorse/back a "pyramid scheme"

Lastly, as a very disillusioned oncology nurse and breast cancer survivor who believes that our medical system is broken almost beyond repair I invite you to tead this article about the FDA. I promise you will never trust them again. http://www.naturalnews.com/011401.html.

I invite all my fellow distributors to continue this education thread...LET'S SHOWN THEM WHO WE TRULY ARE !!!!!!!!!!!

"When your FAITH is greater than your fear EVERYTHING is possible"
