Friends I would like to respectfully remind all my fellow distributors ( especially our Black Diamonds -Mr. Hortog) that it is against Monavie's compliance policy to solicit distributors on this or any other blog . I believe that it is our "enthusiasm" to recruit distributors that often gives us negative press. I hope that we will all use this golden oppurtunity to educate the readers of this blog woth the honesty and integrity that is Monavie's trademark

As an RN I would have hoped that Mr. Dokoupil would have spent some time researching the scientific evidence supporting Monavie and it's consumption. Since he obviously failed to do this I will try my best to educate him.

Dr. Alex Schauss, PhD, the world recognized expert on the Acai berry has done extensive research not only on Acai but also on Monavie. He has studied nutrition for over 30 years, has help positions in the National Insitute of Health and is the recepient of the Linus Pauling Award for his contributions to medical sciences. Dr. Schauss is NOT a distributor and has no finacial ties to Monavie YET it is the ONLY acai product he endorses. I suggest Mr. Dokoupil contact him to help enlighten his very biased views.

I would also hope that everyone takes a few minutes to really understand network marketing before makin "pyramid" claims. I would start by reading the articles written by famous financial economist Paul Zane Pilzner who writes " The New Wellness Revolution
In 2002, The Wellness Revolution defined an industry and outlined an emerging $200 billion industry. Today, wellness has grown to $500 billion and it's still just getting started, offering even greater entrepreneurial opportunities. I would also like to note that Monavie distributors are paid weekly with a Visa Debit card....Visa is a global financial insitution who would not endorse/back a "pyramid scheme"

Lastly, as a very disillusioned oncology nurse and breast cancer survivor who believes that our medical system is broken almost beyond repair I invite you to tead this article about the FDA. I promise you will never trust them again. http://www.naturalnews.com/011401.html.

I invite all my fellow distributors to continue this education thread...LET'S SHOWN THEM WHO WE TRULY ARE !!!!!!!!!!!

I was born and raised in Brazil. I've had açaí in all it's forms, as juices, ice creams, with granola and so on.
I really believe açaí is good for you, as well as acerola, blueberries and all other fruits. What really bothers me is the the big deal people are making out of something so simple. Brazilians are healthy not because they have açaí , but because they walk, they swim, they whole grains and so on. Since I moved to the U.S. my health is been deteriorating, and there's no mistery about it. Too much coffee, donuts, soda, fries, and no much of exercise. I swear that if one try to sell that in Brazil it would not work. So people get healthy!!! There's no easy way, only the old fashion one that we all know. If you wanna spend all that and drink the thing, fine. Just don't blame on the fruit. Jesus does NOT come in a bottle yeat, and Brazilians have nothing to do with this!

If monavie is truely the cure-all it says it is, it would allow the FDA to study its effects. Instead they train their workforce to say a bunch of half-truths and convince the feeble-minded that it fixes everything. Their CEO has obviously pulled this stunt before and got caught, so now he has his salespeople make the claims instead of the company, and train those at the bottom of the PYRAMID to do the same. It may have health benefits, but if the basis of the company was about the bettering of the health to their consumers, they would follow the appropriate process and get their drink and claims approved by the FDA.

Click on the link marked food pyramid.

The main advantage to monavie is the antioxidants, but they don't list anything. You don;t know how much of each fruit is in the bottle, what kind of antioxidants and the percentages involved if applicable.

Actually they've completed a series of double blind cancer studies that have been published. It was proven that in the lab Monavie kills cancer cells. There was a study at U of Florida I believe, as well as some others more recent. Monavie allowed the studies and speaks openly of them.

You can "enroll now" to get the juice wholesale through our website at mymonavie.com/thesuperjuicesource any questions email thesuperjuicesource@yahoo.com

The University of Florida found that several antioxidant compounds found in the acai did indeed kill leukemia cells by causing apoptosis. This was done IN VITRO (in a petrie dish). Antioxidant compounds found in grapes, mangos, pomegranites, and other fruits produced the same results. The scientists involved stated that the study DOES NOT support evidence of cancer prevention or destruction IN VIVO (within a living body). BE VERY CAREFULL OF WHAT YOU CLAIM!

          • Posted By: helmmoose @ 08/06/2008 6:03:25 PM

If the studies actually existed, then you would publish the link to view them. Instead you give a link to buy the damn beverage, again proving everyone's point: PYRAMID SCHEME. I would think the author would also find out about such a study if it truly existed. This article is as much about the blatent bs that salespeople such as yourself spew all over the net as it is about the product. Until their is written proof that monavie or any other superfruit product actually does what people claim, all it is is an overpriced antioxident filled juice. It would cost less to go get a Naked or Odwalla superfood beverage everyday and there is no initiation charge

Only a couple parcels left Monavie drinkers!

I looked at this company and decided not to get involved -- not because I don't believe the product is bad, but because it is hyped. I attended a convention in Salt Lake City, close to headquarters. They are trying to convey a "good life" mentality to the distributors without controlling the representations made by the distributors. In the long run, this comes back on the company. While I was at the convention, I did get to read scientific material showing that the acai berry contains 1,000 times more immunity protection than other natural immunity fruits like the blueberry. I was disappointed that Mr. Dokoupil failed to mention that in his article. Another thing that turned me off was the requirement to buy $250 a month in product. For someone just starting out, this could result in an oversupply of product that just keeps accumulating. In summarizing this article, Mr. Dokoupil tries to convey that the product is bad simply because distributors for the product are not sufficiently reigned in from making fale representations about the product. This is something the company should take a hard stance on. As for the "good life" message conveyed at the conferences, this too should be mellowed out. The Good Life comes from honest and ethical presentation of the product coupled with development of sales skills. People drop out because they don't know how to market the product, not because the product is bad.

know the facts. Actually to stay in and get a comission it is only required to buy 1 case a month which is only $130.00. That under $5.00 to get something in you that is not only healthy but also gives you an opportuinity if you like to make it a side busines.

In my view, Mr. Dokoupil's blog is slanted. He focuses on what he calls hype and discusses the number of distributors who drop out. This is something that happens in all MLM companies. Attrition is synonymous with MLM because the vast number of people who get started think it's a great idea until they realize they don't know how to market. What is disappointing is that Mr. Dokoupil fails at any mention of how the acai berry has a substantially higher ratio of immunity protecting properties. I've seen the scientific data. I have to admit that I am a little turned off by the "good life" hype used to excite potential distributors and the requirement to order $250 in product every month. Other than that, I think there's some good potential here. People who know how to market will do well with this company. Those who don't will fail. Remember, it's not the product that dictates success, it's the marketing skill.

If you were thinking the article was a little negative and possibly bios here's why. Mr Tony Dokoupil posted this comment below on a blog. Feel free to call Tony below and tell him how you feel.

I'm a reporter for a national print publication that's working on a story about MonaVie. Since I've already heard tons of positive testimonials, I'd be interested in hearing from any one who has had a bad experience distributing the drink. I can be reached at 212-445-4430. Many thanks.

I have been drinking the juice and distributing it for over 3 months now. I HAVE felt some great benefits and am making $600 - $900.00 a month now which pays for all my juice AND pays a few bills. Its just healthy juice and the comp plan DOES pay. Its NOT easy by any means but its also not hard. Help people get healthy, feel better and make some extra cash........ works for me!

  • Posted By: bjt540 @ 08/06/2008 3:42:37 PM

Skmonavie, so are you saying i only need to drink this for breakfast lunch and dinner and i will reap all the benefits of eating a healthy diet. You are one of the people that make this product sound like a scam. Promote the product for what it is, a fruit drink! An expensive one at that. Drink SAMBAZON they have an honest product and they don't rely on wives tales to sell their product.

    • Posted By: katgrinch73@msn.com @ 08/06/2008 6:55:20 PM

Mona Vie is actually classified a "whole food" . Do you consider $4-5/day for your health expensive? If you do, than Mona VIe is not for you.

maxihealthteam, the "negativity" you so adamantly condemn, wisely derives from those of us with critical thinking and analytical skills. The caution light comes on when first, medically unsubstantiated claims that this fruit juice has in some way improved disease states such as cancer and diabetes are touted at any level in the marketing of such and secondly, the financially and legally treacherous "multilevel marketing" method of selling the product is known to reward a only very small percentage of those who invested early in the scheme. What is your source of data that substantiates your claim that "almost every" athlete is starting to consume this juice? Your hype that the efficacy of this product must be good because a few doctors are consuming it is comedic. Some doctors consume alcohol and drugs. As for Mr. Redstone, is he educated in the medical, chemical or nutritional sciences? Because he also has enormous net worth and consumes the product, this the must be wisdom to be emulated? The acai berry is simply the fruit of the Euterpe Palm. It is, like several other fruits, high in antioxidant compounds, which are known to neutralize the harmful effects of the free radicals produced from cellular conversion of food to energy via oxidation. A recent University of Florida study found that some of these compounds destroyed leukemia cells IN VITRO (outside the body in a petrie dish). Antioxidant compounds found in grapes, guavas, mangos, pomegranates, etc. have also produced anticancer activity IN VITRO. It is yet to be determined if this activity can prevent or destroy cancer IN VIVO. (in the body). Outside of Brazil, where the indigenous population has consumed this fruit for eons, it is little known and that mystique is exploited to the hilt. You demand that commentors perform research before expressing doubt. How about some research on your end. At the source of the fruit, a medical study for rates of cancer, heart disease, hypercholesterolemia, and other maladies among the indigenous population that regularly consume it in comparison to those who don't and those who consume other fruits.

My objection to Mona Vie isn't to the health benefits- It is simply an overpriced source of nutrients. I have watched many friends get sucked into this PYRAMID scheme, not by the vapid videos of the Brazilian rain forests or how they can share the health benefits with their family or friends, but by the distributors who talk about how hard the decision was to choose between the Mazerati or Porsche when they met their quota. The distributors I know are much more interested in sucking you into their downline than sharing a valuable product, AS EVIDENCED BY MOST OF THE MONA VIE ADVOCATES ON THESE POSTINGS WHO LEAVE THEIR WEBSITE ADDRESS IN THE HOPE THAT YOU'LL BE THEIR NEXT NAIVE DRONE. This smacks of AMWAY and every other scheme where you're given financial incentive for recruitment and production. Approach ten distributors and see how easily it is to buy a case and walk away without incessant harrassment. Finally, testimonials people who are financially invested to the level that these distributors are are not valid indicators of the efficacy of this product. In a double blind study, you would likely get the same results (e.g. my rheumatoid arthritis is cured, my diabetes is gone, Mona Vie cured my erectile dysfunction) with Kool-Aid as you would with Mona Vie. It's called the placebo affect, dullards. This marketing scheme is shameless, and ijn some cases prays on the hopes of people with a variety of illnesses (some life-threatening). It allows manipulative distributors to make "testimonials" about some percieved or false benefit while insulating Mona Vie from liability. I hope the FTA shuts this farce down. And before you barage the message board with a wave of indignant purple rage, I did give Mona Vie an honest try to help my friends out and make a subjective judgement. Still ache when I get up, still an occasional insomniac. 560 dollars poorer, and one less "Friend" who disowned my when I quit his downline. Thanks, Mona Vie. Thanks a bunch.
