One of our salespeople kk sold the juice and brought a bottle in one day, and the funny thing about it is that there are no nutritional values on the bottle. So how can something so good for me not tell me how good it is for me on the bottle. Its all hype. Good luck selling $40 dollar bottles of juice when gas is $4 bucks a gallon.......

Did you not read the article? They can't publish the health claims because the FDA will raid them and destroy their products for making health claims that can only be made by pharmaceutical companies. Boy do we live in a backwards nation, a very prideful and arrogant one at that...

So what;s the cheaper brand? I think Mona Vie is way overpriced and obviously for money marketing reason!

Ok...listen everyone... It's real ONLY if you believe it is. It's just like that copper bracelet that "cures" arthritis that's sold on TV. It only works if you BELIEVE it does. It's only a juice.... JUICE... that's it. Even the owner of the company admits it. One person can purchase all the organic and wild juices in any Whole Foods and probably spend a lot less money on the product. I understand that people are making money by selling it to their friends and taking a percentage of the cut and all.... but guys... honestly it's a pyramid scheme. The higher-ups will tell you everything you want to hear, have you exploit your friends, family, and neighbors to take a percentage of the cut. Ask yourselves this... If you are the sales person and you're selling the product how much of that money do you get to actually keep? You pay your recruiter 20%. All they did was recruit you and introduce the product.... that's it. Then they pay their recruiters and so forth till the higher-ups get their Bentley. If you're doing all the work shouldn't you keep that money? Then you can reorder all the product you want at wholesale, sell the hell out of it and not have to pay your recruiter. The company would still make money and YOU would make more. It's a pyramid, folks anyway you slice it.
Ascai and blueberry juices are great, but they're just juices. You can purchase a pint of blueberries for a hell of a lot cheaper at the local market.

There must be some alcohol in the bottle before they add the juice to get people to believe in miracles. And those that are buying fruit juice for $40 a bottle probably got a really good deal on some speakers some kids were selling out of their delivery van at a gas station that the warehouse put on their truck accidentally. They should read the literature about becoming a Mona Vie "distributer" and actually understand it.

I am surprised to see how many people talk about the miracle properties of the berry without even having lived in the country of origin or region where the berry comes from to see the real truth behind it. I can assure you all that are not bias that this product is not like anything extraordinary. The water down version sold here is just that - a memory of what acai truly is. Coming from that region, acai is nothing but a juice from a fruit that is not even that popular outside the amazon region in Brazil. Once a scheme, always a scheme....

    • Posted By: dsqard @ 08/06/2008 2:19:33 PM

Apparently even the Brazillians that eat the fresh fruit can not get the same benefits from the acai berry without it being in MonaVie. I hope the M.O.R.E. Project is sending hundreds of free cases to the Brazillians that they are helping.

    • Posted By: thebaron @ 08/06/2008 2:09:04 PM

First of all.. you know nothing of this product.. It is not watered down... there is no water added to it...
you need to do a little more research.

Even if you drink acai in Brazil it's not the same as Monavie. For years, they didn't even know how to preserve acai long enough to get it to Rio. Its a fragile fruit that loses its antioxidant capacity within 24 hours. Monavie did three years and millions in research to figure out how to flash freeze dry it within 15 minutes of being picked, preserving 98 percent of the antioxidant and nutritional value. Also, other companies strain it, taking out the essential fatty acids in the pulp. When you combine the pulp with the flash freeze drying patented by Monavie only, you get something with ten times the nutritional value you'd find anywhere, even in Brazil. That's why you get the testimonials with Monavie you don't get elsewhere.

Also, there have been extensive, I believe double blind cancer studies done with Monavie, showing that it kills cancer cell You can find these studies online or even on Monavie sites. You don't get the same result with other products. It all goes back to the scientific research and preparation Monavie does. Its unlike anything else on the market.

Click enroll now at our website, mymonavie dot com/thesuperjuicesource or we'll answer any questions at thesuperjuicesource at yahoo dot com

When you really know how well researched and top notch Monavie is in terms of quality, you too will wonder, like I do, how we got along without this stuff.

People that don't do their research about the company and the juice are just ignorant. The company makes a point in saying this is not a get rich quick scheme. Nor is it a pyramid.. With MonaVie you can make more money than someone above you if you put the time and energy into it. Just like you would with any other type of job or business you expect to be successful at, you have to put time into it. Nobody has said it cures anything. Drink the juice for 3 months and see how you feel. It's not a miracle anything. You are simply giving your body what it needs to fight antioxidants which if you have done your research is what causes disease and illnesses. Why bash someone that feels better because they are drinking the juice? Why bash someone because they were willing to put the time into a business and made it a success?
That is why there is a smaller % making more money. It's not easy and it takes commitment, time and work.
Multi level marketing is not for everyone. If you don't want to work and don't do your research than this is not for you. K.B.

This is utter ignorance, much like this article that tries to paint the picture that this is a traveling snake oil scheme when it is a useful and effective, albeit expensive, product. Are you upset about the structure of the company and that it's making money, or that its product actually works?

I've been drinking MonaVie for ten weeks. My headaches are gone. Only 1 in 10 weeks! Stomach pain gone! I'm playing tennis again after 15 months of battling tennis elbow. I couldn't even hold the racket in my hand. I endured recommended injections , physical therapy and orthopedic treatments. Nothing worked until MonaVie. I'm now playing tennis again pain free and I've become a Distributor. Loyal in Encinitas! :) :)

Justice2683, have you tried a glass of REGULAR wine to see if you get the same relaxing effect?

    • Posted By: gymrat @ 08/06/2008 2:16:51 PM

One glass of acai=30 glasses red wine

  • Posted By: kelvar @ 08/06/2008 2:16:48 PM

I've been drinking the stuff for two months. My teeth are cleaner, my coat is more shiny, and I don't chase cars any more. My owners now let me sleep on the bed. Gosh, if I had only had this as a puppy.

WAKE UP people, the power of positive suggestion, coupled with the allure of fortune, are a powerful combination, they make people act irrationally. MLMs thrive on that. I wish I had thought of this one, that's for sure. Why do you think the originator had all those cars on stage - to show the medicinal benefits of the juice or to suck in the suckers to push more juice. Take a step back and look at this realistically.

    To the author:
If anyone does not know how one can manipulate a reader into taking the side of the author, Tony Dokoupil (the author of this article) is quite the expert. Let me show how the phrases he uses purposely diminish the company without stating it plainly. My first thought is that Tony has an axe to grind against the company or network marketing. Most likely both. He also wants you to share his opinion. How does he do this? Take a look at the phrases he uses:

    megachurch revival
    earning sales rather than salvation
    cult following
    drinkers and sales apostles
    luring customers
    plied the business angle
    drinking the Kool-Aid
    kingpin executives

Can you see how Tony uses these phrases to degrade MonaVie while pretending to be unbiased? Is this what they teach at Columbia Tony?

Tony of you wanted to write an editorial why didn???t you ask the corporate heads at Newsweak to allow you to do so? Perhaps the ???kingpins??? who run the magazine didn???t believe you were ready. Maybe if you keep on climbing up to the top of the pyramid at Newsweak (where all the people at the top make all the money) maybe they will allow you to then.

Good Call Brian! Thinking people are fed up with this kind of "reporting". Unfortunately, the masses of "sheeple" are a bunch of sapps that lap up slop like this every day... And they're voting in November! Jeesh! Gives me chills!

      • Posted By: GreenGables79 @ 08/06/2008 12:36:53 PM

It's exactly those "sheelple." Susan, that are being taken by this company. Instead of looking to educated people who research this stuff day in and day out, your "sheeple" are listening to false claims made by MonaVie distributors to try to cure their ills. It IS snake oil whether or not you want to admit it due to your lack of will to investigate the matter or due to your own personal profit from the company.

        • Posted By: herewewere @ 08/06/2008 2:16:43 PM

Sorry, GreenGables, but the people who research "day in and day out" are pre-programmed in pharmaceuticals and the other drug coffers that are robbing this country blind of both health and money. It may seem counterintuitive to our prideful, arrogant medical establishment to think that natural things can do far more than any drug will ever do, but it is true. Putting this company aside, when we are talking about the actual product and what it does, real people who study health and nutrition "day in and day out" know the vital role nutrition plays in curing disease and preventing disease. When people finally come out of the matrix of pharmaceutical and drug establishment propaganda, they will see that this is what people have been using for thousands of years to maintain health. Why do we have so many diseases today? You need to do some more investigating because your endless string of comments along this board illustrates intense ignorance. Be blessed.

I have been taking Monavie for going on two months and it does have some benefits, I sleep way better and have alot less hot flashes.. Not sure why BUT it all started getting better after I started on the MonaVie. I will let the results speak for themselves.

  • Posted By: gymrat @ 08/06/2008 2:15:24 PM

There are alot of well known athletes taking this product. Not because they are trying to make money off of it but because they feel the effects of what MonaVie can do for their abused bodies..they feel better on it and therefore can compete better because of it

  • Posted By: norskegal @ 08/06/2008 2:13:38 PM

MonaVie is network marketing - not a pyramid scheme. Many colleges now teach network marketing and many companies use this. In a pyramid scheme a person can never make more money than the person who sponsored them. I personally know a nobody from the sticks in the middle of North Dakota who is making probably $2500 a week and definitely makes more than her sponsor. I drink MonaVie and know that I feel much better than I did. I was taking sleep aids 3-4 times a week and now do not have to and sleep better than I have in years. Maybe this is only because I'm getting the recommended fruit intake from the MonaVie juice - whatever it is I enjoy the benefits and will keep drinking the juice and getting my friends and family to drink it too because I have seen and enjoy the benefits.

  • Posted By: RitaT @ 08/06/2008 2:03:23 PM

It is overpriced hype and the distributors are uncomfortably cult-ish. Those at the very top are preying on the distributors desire to be successful in a difficult economy. The only ones getting rich are the very, very few at the top. This all is evidenced by the background of Mona Vie's founder!! He left one bogus, illegal company to start his own! Consumers should care about their health and do so by eating more fruits and vegetables. It's not that hard! And, it's a heck of a lot cheaper than paying $40 a bottle for overpriced, overhyped fruit juice! I bet every person responding here defending this stuff is a distributor. They just haven't wised up to the fact they are being scammed - like almost all multi-level marketing schemes.

WELL UR ANSWER IS THIS WHAT KIND OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES ARE U TALKING ABOUT MAN I BET U U DONT EVEN EAT FRUIT OR VEG, AND ITS SO EASY TO GET IT THIS WAY IF U R GOOD IN CALCULATING SOMETHING A BOX OF MONAVIE IS 130$ A MONTH LET ME DO IT FOR U 130/3O DAYS=$4.33 AND U R GETTING 5000 ANTI OX IN UR BODY HOW MANY FRUIT U HAVE TO EAT !!!!!!!!!! I joined about a year ago and dropped out about 2 months later. Drank the juice for about 2 months and none of my joint osteoarthritic joint problems went away or were alleviated at least. Having a degree in Biology I questioned all of the statements I heard from sales people. I had the hardest time selling a product I was not sure I could believe in. Later on I figured if sales are about 1million bottles a week (see article), which is roughly 4 million a month and the company requires "wholesellers" to purchase a minimum of 4 bottles per month but 8 is recommended for higher points and better commision. If ones asummes most wholesellers are buying 8, then only 500,000 orders are being placed per month, which is probably the size of the sales force or larger. Conclusion, only the sales force is buying this juice, not because they believe in it as a highly nutritional and effective supplement, but because they ARE REQUIRED TO IF THEY WANT TO HOPE THEY WILL GET SOME MONEY.

    • Posted By: addie07 @ 08/06/2008 2:11:45 PM

You make false statements. The are thousands of people who buy the juice as a Distributor to get the juice as a discount. They are considered "drinkers", have no intention of making money. Please do some research before making your claims on the "science" of the juice. The studies and facts are typically what encourages someone with a scientific mind to try the juice. Just like everything else, it affects every person differently.
