When a multilevel product starts getting this type of national press it's time to move on to the next scam. MonaVie is no different than any pyramid marketing fantasy. It makes a few people rich and a whole lot more angry, frustrated and slightly poorer. Avoid this like the plague. Just eat fresh fruits and vegetables and watch the results. For the $40 per bottle cost you can feed yourself and your family the way you're supposed to.

I laugh when people say that Mona Vie is a scam. I'm only 23 years old my wife is 21 and I have only been working Mona Vie for about 4 months now. I am almost at a point to where I can quit my job and retire while working Mona Vie for only about 5 hours a week. Try doing that with another company.People who say it doesn't work obviously haven't even tried it. Its not a get rich quick plan. It is a get rich quicker. It's not easy. It's easier. I hope yall will all reconsider your negative judgment on this amazing company..... God Bless

Monavie is being SHUT DOWN, Monavie is being SHUT DOWN, Monavie is being SHUT DOWN... I was informed this is in the works right now. Too many unethical medical claims being made got the best of them. Reps try to say it's not a drug but yet turn around and say it cured them.

• Posted By: Ihearthops @ 02/17/2009 5:03:32 PM

Where have you heard that MonaVie is being shut down? Please substantiate your claims.

• Posted By: mikeKLimers @ 02/16/2009 5:37:31 PM

Mona vie is a great health product and has blessed my family! anyone really that's speaking bad about it has either failed at the busniess because of the quitting mantality we humans have. because of them quitting they want to share that it doesn't work. this is not true! if you think i'm wrong about my statement and your reading this as someone who hasn't tried what Mona Vie has to offer I highly suggest you atleast go to a meeting a see yourself how great it is. God bless. oh and sorry for the misspelling:)

Thank you News week. Monavie will be a household name negative press or not. There is only positive press!!!! The athur should have at least drank a bottle. i feel sorry for him.

Mona Vie sales reps & distributors shouldn't make specific claims and allow the juice to work, during its warranty period. It's different for every single person who stays with the program. Some arthritus, some cholesterol, some diabetes, some energy, some prostate, some skin problems, etc, etc, etc.
IT DOESN'T CURE ANYTHING, but, it doesn't hurt anything and in my experience of 200+, there is at least relief from some ailment/malady. If you tell someone that Mona Vie cures something specific, you're doing yourself and your customer a disservice. Those who're told of the ingredients and the general benefit derived, will find a reason to buy and then when something positive happens, attributable directly to their taking Mona Vie, that is a lifelong customer and sales reference.

Let Mona Vie sell itself. Do your due diligence on the business side and allow word of mouth to give impetus to your success.

If the claims are false, why do I feel better? Is my brain fooling me?

I will emphasis why Monavie is a Scheme.
Too many crooks involved with Monavie, along with the clinical study that was done on the juice.
FDA site on Dynamic Essentials a company Dallin Larsen, owner of Monavie, was a V.P. for, before it was shutdown by the FDA for making false claims for treating various diseases like cancer, arthritis and ADD using Royal Tongan Limu Juice. A lot of juice companies go down the same way. You would think Dallin would of cleaned up false claims being made by Monavie Reps.
http://www.fda.gov/bbs/topics/NEWS/2003/NEW00976.html

Audio Links with Dallin Larsen raving about the health benefits of Royal Tongan Limu, before the FDA shut them down for deceptive tactics like these training calls.

January 28, 2002 distributor training conference call featuring Dallin Larsen follows:
http://web.archive.org/web/20020205212919/63.167.229.232/deistream/conf020128.wma
- he uses a lot of deceptive comments on this call, much like he does with Monavie.

Dr. Alexander G. Schauss who did the 12 person clinical study on MonaVie juice, that is a fraud according to The National Council Against Health Fraud. Dr. Schauss office was raided by the FDA and seized illegally imported drugs, unapproved medical devices and other items at the clinic. How bogus is the Monavie clinical study now?

FDA Warning issued to MonaVie's top sales rep that hepled started monavie. The sales rep made unethical medical claims on his website. You reap what you sow when you learn from what happens at the top. FDA is not done with MonaVie yet, after a cyber warning, they keep MonaVie on the Radar. With all these reps making medical claims and giving their name, phone number and website out, the FDA has a way to hit Monavie hard.
http://www.fda.gov/cder/warn/cyber/2007/UTVokes.pdf

For a privately held company, they sure do have a lot of complaints on the Better Business Bureau website! They are now rated the lowest possible rating you can receive by BBB an " F " .

Lawsuit filed by Quixstar (Amway) against Monavie for making unethical medical claims in order to build their business back in March of 08. Quixstars intent for the suit is to help protect the MLM industry from MonaVies deceptive tactics to build a business. Many examples was provided with Doctors making speeches of falsely claiming MonaVie cures cancer. The docket link does cost 8 cents per page to review the court case.

You would think these Red Flags would warn you to stay away from this scam. Read my last post on the rapist Dr. Niles... link is included to the rape case.

I am a MonaVie Independent Distributor.... I have been following the MonaVie guidelines and using the MonaVie Active for three months now.... I also suffered from Gouty Arthritius for over twenty years.... that is until Thirty Days after I started using MonaVie.... I have not had a Gout attack in the past three months.... I also am aware of family members and friends with medical problems who have responded favorably to the benefits of MonaVie.... Like any other food or other product.... NOT EVERYONE will receive the same benefit....or even a positive experience.... Let your own experience be your guide.... Buddy Talley

This is a good, well-balanced, well-researched article that might make me consider subscribing to Newsweek. I just came from one of these presentations where I got the usual MLM song and dance about how you will retire in a year (yep if you got in at the top). Selling me a lifestyle instead of a product doesn't go over with me.

• Posted By: Bay State @ 02/09/2009 8:46:41 AM

The FDA has rendered itself meaningless so an FDA comment means little.

• Posted By: drinkup @ 02/07/2009 11:45:57 PM

NO ONE FORCES ANYONE TO DRINK MONAVIE...IT'S A CHOICE.

I thank my neighbor everyday for introducing my Mom and I to Mona*Vie; It relieved my Mom's body arthritis and my
lower back pains in 4 days. I enrolled to help others feel better. I BELIEVE in MONA*VIE because I Drank it and I
FELT IT...To not hear my Mom being in pain when it rains or before it rains is a BLESSING...

The FDA approves DRUGS, NOT fruit Juice. The acia berry and the other 18 different fruits are the perfect blend to make this a wonderful HEALTH JUICE... The acai berry is 100% pure being that it is Freezed-Dried within 24-48 hrs after they are picked in Brazil. I have seen and heard the people I introduced MONA*VIE to tell me they feel better with MONA*VIE. IT'S A CHOICE...YOU DONT WANT TO DRINK IT, THEN DONT; But don't knock a Product when you havent tried it or give it a chance. (possibly Monavie is a competitor to your MLN)

• Posted By: GetYourFactsRight @ 12/17/2008 11:40:40 AM

Thank God that Acai Plus is in NO WAY associated with MonaVie, because the Acai Plus product contains Yerba Mate, which contains several carcinogenic compounds. Dangerous even in the smallest amounts.

But don't take my word for it, jUst go to http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov which is the National Center for Biotechnology Information, and search for "YERBA MATE CANCER"

• Posted By: bleatalon @ 12/18/2008 8:36:20 PM

Well, GetYourFactsRight, I did the search you suggested on the government website and found no such thing about Yerba Mate'.

• Posted By: TaraMN @ 02/06/2009 7:56:22 AM

Actually...if you select the pubmed tab at the top of the page, you can search for yerba mate. This search provides many articles!

You can report this Monavie Scam to FTC; it's very easy to do and only takes a few minutes to fill out. In fact, that goes for any MLM scam out there.

https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/FTC_Wizard.aspx?Lang=en

It only takes 20 complaints to the FTC, to trigger an investigation into this pyramid scheme, then the FTC will work with BBB to further their investigation and then involve Attorney Generals of each state if need be.

Check out the Unsatisfactory rating with BBB on Monavie. That rating will amplify FTC quick and decisive measures to have this scam shut down.

http://utah.bbb.org/WWWRoot/Report.aspx?site=139&bbb=1166&firm=21000953

Quick do your part before more people are scammed out of hundreds of dollars off of worthless juice. Your better off getting the Acai berry in thousands of other juice products at your local grocery store for very cheap. It's the same Acai as Monavie. It still has the same low ORAC score than grape juice, low levels of proanthocyanadins than grape juice and the low vitamin C than Grape Juice.

• Posted By: JayTee3 @ 01/29/2009 12:38:48 AM

Interesting article. I wouldn't ever go for the Monavie Acai Products, but I did try a free trial out for myself. I also stuck with it too and have been losing stubborn weight thats been around for years. The only review site I trust is: http://www.freelayouticons.com/acai-berry

You can find the link here: Acai Berry

Beware of other sites,

As a contract marketing consultant providing event support for a large group of successful MonaVie distributors, I confess that I was skeptical about the product and earnings claims made by distributors. But after three months of hanging around events and speaking to distributors at all levels (I was so ubiquitous at these happenings that they assumed I was one of the local inner circle), I am convinced that this is the real thing. I signed up four days ago.
And from what I can tell, success is predicated not only on each person???s persistence but on the support provided by their mentors/sponsors, and by the sales system they subscribe to. Black Diamond University has helped the fastest growing MonaVie organizations reach Diamond level organically, thatis to say, the leader did not bring his existing organization over from another company. That???s impressive. http://blackdiamonduniversity.com
