Just a thought. Maybe we should restore the confidence and respect the citizens of the USA have for this country BEFORE we worry about what others think of us. I know, crazy idea huh?

That would be a distraction. ha ha

"Maybe we should restore the confidence and respect the citizens of the USA"

Couldn't agree more and the first place to start is restoring the Consitution.
Considering the fact Obama was a renowned professor of Constitutional Law, he clearly is the best choice to accomplish that.
At least we will have a president who has actually read the constituion and that would be a very refreshing change.

    And furthermore,

Bicker, bicker, bicker, bicker, bicker, bicker, bicker, bicker, bicker, bicker, bicker, bicker, bicker, bicker, bicker, bicker, bicker, bicker, bicker, bicker, bicker.

See? And don't you forget it.

Comrade Obama announed today a novel plan for reducing the number of terrorist acts in the world. Given than terrorism represents a failure of empathy, Comrade Obama will offer 6 months of free cognitive behavioral therapy to anyone requesting treatment on presenting to the American Embassy in their country. Non-responders to the therapy will be offered twenty years of free psychoanalysis at various psychoanalytic institutes in the United States.

This article has only furthered my observation that what Obama says and what he actually is are too completely different things. He says he stand for change, but his actions show is the steriotypical politician. For example, he has gone running from his former pastor after certian comments, stating that he does not agree with the pastor's views. But why, then, has he been a memeber under this pastor for years? You don't continue going to a church whose pastor preaches things you don't believe or support for decades. He says he will take the high road about mudslinging and he been shown to start many of the fights as shone in this article... I would rather have a president who had less glitz and glamour but more integrity that someone who can say all the right things, but never back them up.

Very insightful Ms. Morgan. Welcome to liberal heaven !!!! lol
You will find here on the site that when you make valid points very rarely will your question be addressed if they raise any doubt about Obama. I believe the popular answer too your concern from the Obama nation will be as it always has........... Oh just move on already, Oh thats just a distraction, Because his rev believes it doesn't mean Obama believes it.

Like myself, Im sure you will feel like your in the twillight zone with some of the responses you get from the nation in regards to your questions.

      But other then that....WELCOME!!!!!!

obama tries to send the white people on a guilt trip. If you don't vote for him you are racist. not many white people wants to think of themselves as racist. Once clinton was labeled as making a racist comments, the clintion couldn't touch the issue of race with a 10ft pole without being linked back to the race card. Therefore, obama was able during the primary to keep hillary in check with the upspoken leverage of the race card. His racial comments in the primary coupled with his race speech after wright worked. From the perspective of a black person, yeah, he placed the race card, then and he played it now. I mean, the race card is our trump card. I used the race card. Did racism ocurred? Somethings occurred that were suspect and racism seemed the logical reason. Only thing, I didn't use the race card until after .what I believed was racism occurred. I believe if I had injected the fear of race early on, it would have altered the decision that was made. Do I think obama is a racist? Maybe not. Does he have issues with white people? definitely. Do I believe that he right when he says he won't get vote because of his race? Yes. Do I believe he should have played the race card? No. Like I said when I played the race card, things were suspect and racism was the logical reason. I would have never played the race card because it was there and available to play. Shame on you obama. People have a right to vote for the candidate of their choice and the law doesn't say that race has anything to do with your vote.

There definitely will be a segment of those voters who will be White Guilt Voters. I am not one of them. I want a candidate that has a proven s/he has a solid record of experience and accomplishments, someone I know can produce tangibles, not just put mytalk about hope and faith on change. Anyway, I found this blog / article. This gal really says it like it is for this segment of voters if you are interested in reading it. Then there are the Bradley Effect voters. Gotta look more into that one. Just heard about it on the news hte other nite and curious to check out the history of those voteres. : - )

Buuuuuulllllllssssshhhhitttt..........Hey what about the racist people that aren't voting for Obama just because he's black, huh? Think about that.

        • Posted By: SPORTLOCK09 @ 08/04/2008 5:03:15 PM

46% of white voters will vote for Obama.
1% of black voters will vote for McCain
          Do the math

Good answer. Not Rep. I like you. It is a pleasure to meet you.

        • Posted By: sharenews @ 08/04/2008 2:18:45 AM

If there are people not voting for Obama purely cuz he is black, then yes, they are racists. The problem with this first Presidential candidate it makes it hard to tell cuz there is a good sized block that dont care about his race but as voters vote on the substance of the candidate and their proven record compared to the other candidates. Thus, just because one does not vote for Obama it does not mean that they are racists; but of course in many cases that could be the very case. Dumb reason. But there are still racists that exist not just in the south but everywhere unfortunately.

neda, If you have not seen this article (link below) that blogger grej posted somewhere on this site, you might want to read it. It is very well written and informative.. It provides readers with some insight into Obamas early political career. The time between his first campaign for the Illinois State Senate in 1995 and his race for U.S. Senate in 2004, which can fairly be called the LOST YEARS, the span of years that you never hear Obama talk about. The article reflects how he appears to be an old-fashioned, big government, Race-Conscious Liberal. Its long, but worth the read when you have some time. Scary stuff.

The Senator Obamas tenure as a State legislator reveals him to be an old-fashioned, big government, race-conscious liberal.

One, I've heard him talk about his early years, two, why would he bring that stuff up so much, and three, it's not like Mccain says a whole lot about his time being a senator. If he did, it was short and unspecific. Although he does talk a lot about being a war veteran and supprting the soldiers and other veterans even it's fact that he voted against funding to our troops as well as a bill that would give veterans a better retirement.

Do we believe Obama? He had a chance to flip to YES__DRILL FOR OIL...but upon Congress adjourning!Ha Ha HA!!!
Now if he would have flopped to " yes --drill for oil" a week earlier it may have made some actual CHANGE take place in the Congress which was voting on oil drilling!
    Whats' he do?
Obama screws around on "NO OIL DRILLING" like the DNC Congress, and misses a chance to lead and influence the congresses vote! And make CHANGE happen!
This clown does NOT want to make change happen and in fact, he's afraid to! No doubt the people pulling his strings told him to keep his mouth SHUT about "yes--drill for oil" until after the Congress adjourned... and it adjourned VERY quickly! Obama is a follower and no leader. Clearly NOT THE ONE!
Maybe he can part the water in a toilet bowl on a good day!

I think with the job losses, high gas prices, housing market down fall, the republican are to blame for it all including the war in iraq. Witch is a complete waiste of human lifes. I blame every thing on them. mwar, mcidiot equal bush's third term.
    obama 08,12 judgement to lead.

    • Posted By: SPORTLOCK09 @ 08/04/2008 2:54:07 PM

I guess blaming others is better then owning up for your own parties actions. You see, when you have a house majority of Democrats, they have to vote for the war before we go. So the blame is not solely the Repubs. As far as gas goes, are you so new to politics that you failed to recall Al Gore (Democrat!) saying 4 yrs ago the US government needs to artificially inflate gas prices to $5 a galllon? Well Mr. Gore and his fellow Dems, we are almost done. I guess the Dems get to say mission accomplished every now and then also.

I'm waiting for evidence that Obama is cocky and egotistical...To be sure it is a certainty that any person who seriously wants to be president has to have some ego/gravitas...But that is equally true of Obama, McCain, and those who competed against them and lost!...After meeting with the House Democrats, news got out that Obama purportedly said that he had become a symbol of America around the world (I'm paraphrasing)...I gagged at hearing this believing that Obama had decided to be the second coming of Christ, but waited realizing that this news was publicized by the "Fix News" network...Congressmen in attendance clarified the statement later, and said that this was not what Obama had said, but of course it was allowed to run its course in the news cycle...The point here is that we should all be careful of what was supposedly said by the candidate, and what was actually said by the candidate...There's a big difference unless you hear what you want to hear no matter what is said...WBBJ!!!

  • Posted By: HolyRoller @ 08/04/2008 12:45:14 AM

All the Hopium addicted obamamohammeds, trying their absolute best, to smear an American Hero. 20+ yr. U.S. Senator. Well I guess you have to try something. Hussein needs some kinda help...he appears to be free-falling.

But straight up folks. It is a real easy decision. Regardless of anything, true or untrue, about Senator McCain. He has one UNTOUCHABLE advantage over Hussein.......it is this......no matter what, at the end of the day, Senator John McCain, is still.............................NOBAMA!!!. That is all that really matters.

    NOBAMA!!!

    • Posted By: NewsWkDickG @ 08/04/2008 11:20:23 AM

No one needs to smear or put McCain down, he does it aptly for himself. Anyone looking behind the rhetoric and at the history can readily see it. Like Bush-Cheney who he supports, defends and advocates continuing (policies) the truth literally destroys their credibility.

      • Posted By: SPORTLOCK09 @ 08/04/2008 11:53:37 AM

Exactly the problem I have with Obama. He has continually flip flopped on his retoric and has no real history we can refer to in order to cross examine his expressed stances. Most sensitive issues he has routinely voted present on. The issues he did vote on he has asked for re-votes because he mis-voted. I do believe Obama is a very smart man and find it hard to believe that he mis-voted. He has a enormous amount or power in the senate and they all know how important their votes can be. To mis-vote is unacceptable in my opinion. To believe a Harvard educated man as Obama Mis-voted is a bit of a stretch for me

    • Posted By: Notrepublican @ 08/04/2008 1:30:42 AM

Yeah, because that's such convincing argument. Thanks for clearing that up though, I thought Obama and Mccain were the same person until you came here and told me one wasn't the other, I feel so enlightened... NOT!

  • Posted By: just jerry @ 08/04/2008 11:49:35 AM

Political campaigns are run with a goal in mind- saying and doing things to get elected. Obama and McCain are just like any other politician in doing this. No one should be surprised -despite both candidates saying they are above same old politics, clearly they aren't.

Saying they are is just a con that either side can point out accurately and easily examples about their opponent using the same old politics they profess to be against.

McCain is trying to get the right wing idiots to vote for him so says things he doesn't mean. Obama will say anything to win, flip flopping all over the place.

The reason I chose McCain is because no matter whether the House or Senate has been in control of republicans or democrats he works as a nonpartisan seeking to solve problems rather than use them as talking points in a never ending battle of polarizing politics. Obama's ego is out of control and it wouldn't be good to replace one immature egomaniac with another.

I wonder, since obama flipped on oil drilling will gore kennedy pull back their support? What's up with the FL and MI delegate votes. Apparently obama is flipping again. and wants to seat all delegate he fought hillary nail and tooth in the primary to disallow and won. Now that it is expedient to him he has flopped. I'm amazed.

    • Posted By: SPORTLOCK09 @ 08/04/2008 11:30:50 AM

Not sure why your amazed. He is sticking true to form so far. The only change I see from this politician is that he doesn't look like any other presidents on the dollar bills. Seems to be running on the theme of Change of politics, but only offers a change looks. Same ole politics as usual.

No, you dont "call them the way you see them" your just a prejudiced bastard who makes up lies to follow his own thinking and uses this phrase as an excuse to be a prejudiced bastard who makes up lies to follow his own. If any one's the idiot, it's you. I mean, just calling anyone a maggot, and insinuating Hussein like he's linked to the terrorists, calling him gay as well as 9,000 people idiots. Have you read the article, you're part of the problem, and the worst part at that. Someone who will say anything to fit his ideas, who knows no boundaries and knows no truths, who would even insult the entire public, you sicken me, people like you are the worst part of society.

  • Posted By: mbailiff @ 08/03/2008 4:04:46 PM

My problem with Obama is he is not ready to be president and that he is not the person I want as President and Chief. I want someone with Gravitas, I want a mind at work and someone who is curious about the world around them. I want someone who geuninely wants to lift up this great country and make the USA a better place for everyone. I have a hard time believing that Obama genuinely believes what he preaches in his great oratorical speeches in packed stadiums. I find it hard to believe anything he says because his speeches sound so phony and well rehearsed. Obama does not sound like he is doing anything but repeating well rehearsed phrases given to him by talented speech writers. I don't trust someone who has to constantly go back to a podium after a speech and say "What I meant was..." and then contradicts everything he said in the first speech. I want a real person to stand up and say "This is what I believe and what I want." I want the next president to have firm beliefs and I would love it if they disagreed with me on some issues and stood up and said "This is why.... and I am not going to change my mind just to score some cheap points with those who disagree with me." I want a real person for president and I am disappointed that I will not have a chance in this election to do anything more than vote for the lesser of two evils.

    • Posted By: Notrepublican @ 08/03/2008 10:45:48 PM

You know, you don't make sense. You talk about wanting a president that geniunely wants to raise up this country, yet Obama has been talking about raising up this country throughout his entire campaign. All Mccain has been doing is talking negatively about Obama and his opinions on issues. You talk about Obama flip-flopping, yet Mccain has made more flip-flops than a pancake flipper. You say you want someone smart and curious about the world, that's exactly what Obama is, he;s frieken traveling the entire world for Christ's sake. He went to a good college, is young, and shows his intelligence various times. While Mccain's old, hiks brain is starting to deteriorate, and even when he's been told what to say, he still makes mistakes, openly. You say Obama isn't ready yet Mccain is. You know who else was ready to be president, George Bush, and he did such a great job getting us into a pointless war, borrowing millions of dollars from foreign countries, running our economy into the toilet, and allowing for the mortgage crisis by lifting regulations Clinton had made. The last point I want to point out is it seems everyone is saying speeches are pointless. You're right, the Gettysburg Address, pointless, the tear down this wall speech, pointless, the it's not what your country can do for you, it's what you can do for your counrty speech, pointless. Words don't matter, they've never ended wars, or stop a nuclear missile crisis, or rallied an army to victory, or gave hope to people when it seemed hopeless. You're absolutely right, words are pointless, they mean nothing.

      • Posted By: mbailiff @ 08/04/2008 9:21:56 AM

I actually plan to vote for Obama I just don't think he is the most qualified person for the position. I really hope I am wrong but your argument that he is traveling the world is false. Obama recently took a trip to places he has not been before or has not been for a long time and this travel came only after McCain made it all but a dare for him to do so. I think Obama is the better choice over McCain but that is not saying much. We need to raise the bar in this country and up the level of debate. There was an article this weekend talking about how we are once again falling behind in education in the U.S. I want this campaign to be about smart and not, I want to here about issues , issues, issues. I want to hear about real issues, not divisive crap like gay marriage and english as the official language. I want to talk about education, healthcare, social security, job creation, and the environment. I believe that Obama is great at the popularity contest and not much else.

      • Posted By: sharenews @ 08/03/2008 11:33:09 PM

Words matter when the candidate has substance behind them to back up talk of hope and change; has much experience and significant accomplishments for the most important job in this country.. Words alone from a junior US Senator (no matter how well spoken) does not make for a President. But Im like mbailiff, I will vote for whom I consider to be the lesser of what I will call one and a half evil for my choice; at least that is my feeling now. Maybe the VP pick for both will help.

        • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 08/04/2008 7:40:28 AM

So now your new ad is that maybe the VP pick will help you decide? We are choosing a president first and foremost. If Hillary were to be chosen for VP, will you support Obama?
