Lifetime TV drama opens an old wound in Texas cheerleaders' town.

Collegian, I couldn't agree more. I got so angry and frustrated reading this article. I taught at an affluent high school years ago and have witnessed parental incompetence and stupidity first hand. These fools couldn't teach a dog how to shake let alone their children the lessons they need to navigate life. My only consolation is imagining the deer-in-the-headlights look these poor excuses for humans will get when they begin to experience the real world. Oh god, I just had a thought. What if they breed?
When will it be on lifetime again?
I, too, hope that the coach was "well paid". She deserved it after the hell that she endured from those 5 tramps and that principal.
As a former teacher in Atlanta, Ga., I can testify to the fact that this is NOT just a Texas problem. In many schools the inmates ( students) have taken control of the building.
I am so proud of the coach for standing up to the Fab Five, their parents, and the school administration. Shame on the administration for not backing the coach. Too many parents from affluence, believe their children have the right to break or bend the rules and others should not challenged the statue quo or they risk being singled-out. As a former principal, I can only imagined how helpless she felt. It was unfortunate that she had to apply to 500 or more schools before finding employment. For doing the right thing, she is dealt a blow to her career and reputation. I say to the parents of the Fab Five, all of them need help. Their sense of entitlement doesn't give them the right to destroy a coache's life with threat of lawsuits. See if this sense of entitlement can now buy their daughters a new history, because they will forever be known as the FAB FIVE. I hope the parents think their approach to parenting was worth it. For the coach, come to Virginia, we need people like you in our schools developing the whole child. I am so proud of you and wish you and your family the best. I also enjoyed the movie and you shouldn't have canceled your viewing partying. You earned it. Now, write the book.
I don't feel sorry for any fallout those girls got, serves them right. Treat people like crap, you become crap.
Lisagibbs, are you one of the irresponsible mothers of the Fab Five? Or the Slut Five as we should call them? Because you've missed the point entirely. The young girls, and I repeat, YOUNG girls behaved inappropriately while all the adults around them gave them license to do so. It's because of people like you that produce white trashy whores in this world. I hope you have no children. Otherwise, I weep for them.
You people need to wake up. The "whistleblower" coach wanted fame, attention and money, and unfortunately, she got all three at the expense of the families involved. The movie is her version of events and should be viewed as fiction.
Read my comment you like what i had to say.
Ok who ever is "lisagibbs"........so what if the Former Coach got "Royalties"........you are losing "FOCUS" on what the Cheerleaders did to deserve what they got. They should have known better to put up Racy Pictuers of them selves on MySpace........plus what were they doing if they were not 18 in a Sex Shop or wherever they were acting stupid.......I don't feel sorry for any of those "Spoiled Girls" !!!!!!!
Cheerleading tries to be taken seriously as a sport, but it's a holdover from the days when girls were literally relegated to the sidelines. Now, girls have the opportunity to play everything from basketball to ice hockey. These seem like more worthwhile activities to me than dancing around in a skimpy outfit in front of a crowd, and more worthy of respect. There's no reason to treat cheerleaders with deference. They are no better than anyone else.
As I watched this movie I was dumbfounded by the administrations actions. I worked in a school that handled discipline in the same manner and there were comments made by the prinicipal(s) that were IDENTICAL to comments made by my former principal. The scene with the parent, student, teacher and principal is exactly what happened to many teachers in my previous school. Teacher vs. student, with the teacher trying to validate her actions when all she did was follow the code of conduct. Of course the teacher is the one who is now without a job for trying to do what is right and the principal was paid out her contract then given a letter of recommendation. This is called "pass the trash" in the education community. What did this teach the students at this school and the community? By reading several different site posts it taught them nothing! The girls have somehow become the victims. They were bullys that preyed on others and so are the parents who raised them. This is the reason good teachers leave the profession they love, right and wrong does not exist in so many districts that you have to sell your soul to keep your job. Ms. Ward chose not to but almost lost everything in the process.
PEOPLE NEED TO GET A LIFE! MIND UR OWN BUSINESS! WORRIE ABOUT YOURSELVES,NOT OTHERS, ARE U THAT BOARED WITH YOUR LIFE THAT YOU HAVE TO WORRIE ABOUT OTHERS! ARE YOU THAT UNHAPPY! GO GET SOME HELP! MY GOD!
Silly Rosebud, humans are pack animals, we live in societies/towns for a reason. For support, for company, without a community to belong to humans shrivel up. So, people DO NEED to be active participants in their communities...it's called social participation or responsibility the opposite of this is called social apathy...from social apathy comes the feeling that you're a lone wolf, and you learn to only look out for number 1. It's for the benefit of humanity that people need to be active, set standards of conduct, and chastise when needed. That's how culture evolves. Hopefully, as you grow up, you're mentality will mature and you'll learn to appreciate this. Until then, RESPECT YOUR ELDERS, and stop making yourself look like a dumb ass!!!
Beautiful response, anaasc!!

Hey Rosebid1 which one are you
You need to take your own advice. Pay attention in school instead of worrying about others since I noticed you can't spell worth a crap! I think you are the one that needs the help!
If people do not respond to such arrogant, bratty behavior these little cuties will some day be your childrens teacher, or counselors or Doctors. What will you say then. Of course, these little cuties probably don't take education serious enough to ever become a positive figure in society. TJ
Why are people so quick to defend idiots like these cheerleaders? How many old cliches warn about such behavior as theirs? "Play with fire..." etc. Bad girls, bad parents, bad school administrators, no discipline; this country seems to have forgotten that children have to be taught, otherwise they will behave childishly, and the best definition of that is doing things without regard for the consequences. I blame the girls for being fools and the parents for not teaching them to be anything else.
Could it be that there's a pervasive sense of entitlement among parents and children today that didn't exist when you and I were kids? I'm grateful to my mom and dad (rest his soul) for not raising my younger sisters and me with the philosophy that we were the Center of the Universe.
I saw this Lifetime drama during the premiere last Saturday. I honestly, found it comical, over exaggerated and a huge embarrassment to the school community. As the article says, it does make for good TV, or fodder for TV. I wouldn't waste 2 hours out of my day to re-watch it. Hopefully the coach was well paid for spilling the story and opening old wounds. She may need a good lawyer in case of further fall out.
When can we see it?
I'd have to say that even though some of these comments are controversial and argumentative, the one good thing to come of this is that it gets people talking and thinking. If it makes only one person think twice about their behavior (or their parenting style), then perhaps it's done some good.
Sportspredictor, you have a few grammatical errors, spell check comes standard, how about using it.
No errors at all, especially since it perfectly mimics your racist comment.
Pomgranite: (Insert Sarcasm Here) You are a complete genius! Congratulations on being so intellectual and pleasant! Thank you for your intelligent comments!
Who is playing the victim now hunny?
First of all, it's never so serious as to call me honey, second of all intellectual and pleasant can be my strong suit, if I choose for it to be. There are no tones or overtures that imply victim in my comment, perhaps it's your perception, based on your own mentality. Hit me back after you take your overalls off and get the mud off your boots.
