The Preseident needs to declare a National Energy Emergency. The Press are just trying to muddy the waters and sell newspapers. If President Bush is interested in improving his legacy then he should sound the alarm. We Americans are ready for change so please show us the way. We need to unlease the brilliant minds we have today not after the next election. How many more American landmarks or companies need to be sold to the middle eastern countries for us to wake up? Where are our leaders of Industry, who has the balls to get this started?

Since we elect our Presidents based upon who we'd rather have a beer with, Paris definitely has MY vote. And a little blow, if I can afford it.

Why give Pairs Hilton (or Britney Spears) more attention than they arlready get? They are nothing more than media hungry idiots. John McCain's ad together with Hilton's message makes him look even more out of reality than ever before. Humor? I think not. I think this man is really out of touch. Don't give Paris Hilton or John McCain further attention.

I think that it is simply time that we all re-evaluated what this planet means to us. I think that we should be trying and doing whatever it takes to save it. In that sense perhaps Paris is right (although I think she hit upon the idea accidentally--I don't believe intellect was involved).

ONce again, they understand the market, oil, finances, policy, and international relations. Paris is so right! There are 100's of small R & D companies here in the US who have developed safe, viable and inexpensive alternatives from O & G. Most of them are urgently seeking funding, and are being scrutinized by venture capitalists and government alike because of the paradyme created by our consuming contentment and fueled by rich oil companies.

Foreign oil should have been a thing of the past in the 80's, and because it hasn't , we have become gluttonous slaves to our own narrow thinking.
A few companies to serious watch are RCW Environmental Innovations with Hydrogen fuel (no cells), White Buffalo Nation with a clean water production, system, and Laser Turbine Power Systems with commercial and industrial engines operating on mainly laser technology.

Comment: There are, supposedly, 18 billion barrels of oil "offshore". Oil is globally traded and globally, 18 billions is enough to satisfy less then 7 months of global demand. A DOE report predicted that it would take 2 decades of drilling in restricted areas to recover the oil and, at that, theimpact on fuel costs would be 'insignificant"
(from Elizabeth Kolbert). So, "off-shore drilling", while it will help a little - isn't really that important.

I have heard that Bush had at one time, the ability to drill off-shore in Cuban waters. Instead of jumping on it, he said, "NO." So who do you think is drilling twenty miuntes south of Miami? The Arabs...now how smart was that?

Go Paris...I tell you what...Paris Hilton is no dummy. It takes balls, brains, and true grit to remain in the spotlight without true talent.

In addition, with Paris you get her entrorage of men and women who helped build (And continue to keep), the Hilton fortune. They know business, they know customer service, publicity, the stock market...what else do you want in a president?
