What I like about PAris idea is the combination of two main stream of suggestions. The problem we face in America, and the medias are the ones helping this trend, the problem i was saying is that people don't agree with a candidate changing his opinion or idea about something. Has Bush rethought his plan about Irak we would not have 4300 US soldiers dead. Who may have thought about saying that he "flip flop", the magic word in US politics. I don't see why a candidate can't not change his mind about something, americans want president who pretend to be tough, strong headed and minded sometimes, those leaders lead us to an impass like the war in Irak, some strnage connection with oil companies and again having the US being humiliated on the face of the World by trying to impose the views of the few hawks in the white house to the rest of the world. Why is it that there is never a middle view, call it flip flop, as long as it works, saves lives and improves peoplelives, I don't spit in the plate.
Whereis humility in US politics and minds?
Paris hilton gives there a good idea that some will not think to implement but instead, they will be wasting people time on her looks, on how blond and stupid she may be, but who give a f..ck as long as the policy saves America's oil market huh?
    Way to go Paris...

Why can't the candidates--and even the already elected office holders--talk about the real issue. It is not energy. The US has plenty of energy and energy sources. The problem is oil used for transporting people and goods from one place to another in the form of gasoline and diesel fuel to power internal combustion engines.
Conservation such as is already being exercised by everybody individually and by businesses because of the latest rise in the price of oil is the first best step to limiting demand.
The simplest solution is to substitute alternative renewable fuels to operate these engines and there will be no need to import any oil no matter how much is drilled on U.S territories.
Can that be done? Of course. Google Jimmy Carter's televised speech of July 15, 1979.
Brazil took the hint and today is totally independent of imported oil and driving flex fuel vehicles made in the USA!

It seems kind of silly to argue with Paris Hilton about energy policy. But offshore drilling cannot serve as an interim solution until the clean energy options are available because it will take 7-10 years for the drilling to make even the few cents difference it eventually will. 7 - 10 years is too long for an interim solution. On the other hand T. Boone Pickens plan of natural gas powered cars can serve as an interim solution.

It is funny that Paris put the wrinkle old white hair dude in his place. Even though we all know that somebody told her what to say, what she said was right. I think Obama when they said he fliped flopped, was actually saying that. Wow.

    Obama 08!

Mc Cain had his say. She had her say. Fair is fair. Paris wins the "says". He used the wrong example. Sometimes a person looks weak until she turns around and kicks you in the butt. Try to make fun with somebody else. Try the war hero Senator Mc Clelan like Rove did. Rove picked a guy with no legs who couldn't kick him in the butt. Get these people out of my government.

The only reason there is "URGENCY" about this issue is because evidently our government in in the pockets of the oil, energy and automobile industry.. as well as a host of other corporations ( notably weapons manufacturers ) and is incapable of working in the interests of the American citizen.. or planning ahead. This problem has been looming and growing for YEARS.. as was the mortgage meltdown, etc., etc., etc. Our enormous and hugely expensive government is fueled by corporate and lobbyist donations ( oh, and hundreeds of billions of taxpayers' hard-earned dollars)..but if the taxpayer recieves any benefit from governmant decisions and actions at this point, it is a side benefit. John Edwards built his campaign around all this and warned us.. but because he was "old news"and not a woman, Black man or "war hero" he was ignored by the media ( yet another corporate entity ). It's feeling more and more like the decline of the Roman Empire. God help us !!!

"McCain needed to tap into the old Bush crowd at the Houston Petroleum Club."

That's all he has going for him.
