Nice China bashing. It will fall back on your own head.
Why China's Olympic cleanup may be aggravating global warming.

When the air is polluted, you are damned. When the air is cleaner, you are equally damned.
If a writer decides to slant a clouded view for the purpose of gaining an advantage, or utilizes someone???s dubious and inconclusive research to support a shabby argument to support a point, let it be, for he/she has every right to voice an opinion (no matter how preposterous it may be). Such prejudice can simply be annoying if not nauseating.
Comments based on historical or factual evidence are beneficial to the readers. Otherwise, they are hollow or at best shallow talks. Writers, please take note.
This ridiculous article is another solid evidence of what BBC realy mean:
BIASED BROADCASTING COMPANY!

Comment: I Went to Beijing and Shanghai last November for 3 weeks and had bronchitis for a month after .I came back .
-- That only means you have a very fragile lung, for which you should blame your parent!
jamie: You need to get your jammed mind fixed first, I know that won't happen overnight!
You got such wierd, self contradictory ideas in that mind, Pity for you, my friend!
Maybe you should come for the Paralympics...

They have been working hard to improve things in the country. There will no be any 8 year quick fix just as much as there will never be an overnight fix. Lets show these people some respect so that they walk away from this thing with dignity and an actual feeling of international responsibility.
Please do not get sucked into the vortex of indiscriminate bashing of whatever is Chinese, again and again. Leave Beijing alone for the time being. The Chinese have been too involved (physically and emotionally) in the Olympic Games, so much so that they practically overlook (albeit inconveniently if not apologetically) many urgent national issues let alone the international debacles. Just wait till the Games is over.
Today is the 8th of August. Let Beijing begin the Games with a big bang at 20:08 tonight. Let China usher in a new era and a fresh world order with great faith. A better world is there in the waiting. Just wish China all the very best. (Tan Boon Tee, 08.08.08, 20:08)
Why should anyone "wait", just because they bid for the Olympics is not a reason to let them off. This discussion has to do directly with the Olympics in that our athletes are there competing in this murky air.
I live in California and we experience China's air here! They need to take responsibility for what they are doing to their own country and the world. This attitude that "there's nothing wrong" is denial--a very dangerous attitude when it comes to peoples health and well-being.
Ask anyone with asthma how they feel about air pollution and I think you will find that we know it lessens our quality of life, costs us in doctor visits and medication, and takes away years from our lives.
I lived near an oil refinery and it destroyed my once healthy lungs. My health was excellent, I hiked, kayaked, and was in top physical shape before I moved to the central coast of California. Within 5 short years, I could barely go a few steps around my block.
My life revolves around the air quality. Try finding a place to live that has "healthy air" where there are jobs and affordable housing. I'm not wealthy, so I can't afford to live on the beach--even there, in some areas, doesn't have healthy air.
There will come a time very soon when those of us with lung problems will be asking; "WHERE do we go now?"
Jamie Reno seems to not know that global warming has stopped, at least for now. There has been no net warming in the 21st century and temperatures have dropped so much in the past couple of years that essentially all of the warming of the 20th century has been erased. So, if reducing real air pollution means the cooling is slowed down or warming re-starts again, it still sounds like a good trade off.

the pollution there is the real deal as my lungs can attest .
China indeed has a serious problem of pollution due to decades of accumulation, but at the same time China has realized the problem and are making every efforts to get it solved.
