I can not consider Sen. Obama for POTUS based on his opposition to the Born Alive Infants Protection Act.
I will going forward support the McCain campaign. My full statement is posted under the Newsweek article

Don't kid yourself. With Hillary planning a 'Greek drama,' the Clinton-Obama rivalry will go on.
I can not consider Sen. Obama for POTUS based on his opposition to the Born Alive Infants Protection Act.

Decoding Neck-and-Neck.
Can someone please ask John McCain what is his position on the DRAFT
THIS IS WHAT THE LIBERALS SUPPORT ! THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE WOMANS RIGHT TO CHOOSE THIS IS MURDER PLAIN AND SIMPLE ! OBAMA REFUSED TO SIGN A BILL STOPPING THIS ! Late Term Abortion ??? The procedures
There are three general procedures of late-term abortions and partial birth abortions. The first and most popular is called D&E (Dilation and evacuation). Once the cervix is dilated, the fetus is removed by inserting forceps into the uterus. The Fetus is then separated into pieces. These ???pieces??? of your baby will be removed one at a time. Vacuum aspiration is then used to ensure no tissue remains in the uterus.
The second procedure is early induction of labor. This is very painful and intense for the woman and is rarely used as an abortion procedure.
The third procedure is called Intact D&X surgery. This procedure includes a 2-3 day process to gradually dilate the cervix using sticks of seaweed which absorb fluid and swell. Once this process is finished, the doctor uses forceps and grasps the baby???s leg to turn it to breech position. The baby is then pulled out of the birth canal, leaving the head inside the canal. An incision is then made at the base of the baby???s skull and the brain tissue is removed, causing the skull to collapse. The entire baby is then removed.
The Clintons will always remain the same. Spotlight is important to Hillary's ever smiling face. Bill should just focus on Africa and maybe come out with another book on his travels there. Based on polls, people still need a clearer understanding of Obama and I hope he avoids the Hollywood talk and cuts straight to the economy and not shift after that. Already sick of him mentioning his diversity. Economy Obama! economy is where you raise the issue in dealing with McCain...just dont shift or they'll paint you... Kerry style.
12waz, I responded to you below regarding your off base accusation that SJ and I are the same person.
Comment: Comment: I have been, I guess the word is lurking around these boards for a while, I have posted a few times before but I prefer reading the posts, and I have to say that the level of rage amoung some Clinton supporters is absolutely horrible. There is no logic behind this, at this time in US history, they are choosing to vote for someone who will continue to lead us on the path that we have been on for the last 8 years. Shame on you. I to voted for Sen. Clinton during the primaries and was very upset that she didn't win, but it was a contest. True there were quite a bit of sexism and racisim being thrown around, but we really need to work to get past this. The goal, for me at least, is to make sure that John McCain out of the white House.
I did notice one blogger in particular that appears to have multiple personalities and runs around growling and foaming at the mouth at others like a rabid Chihuahua. All of her posts are extremely condescending and deliberately vicious for no reason. She claims to be a Clinton supporter, but the Hillary Clinton that I supported would be ashamed to call this person one of her base. This person goes by the following tag names;
123waz
zrrr
legume

what?
In my opinion this person is just an angry woman spitting her venom because that is all she has. I shall name her Sybil the multi-personality angry Chihuahua!
Hi SJ or is it Loriw?
Here's what gave it away: "I have been, I guess the word is lurking around these boards for a while, I have posted a few times before but I prefer reading the posts, and I have to say that the level of rage amoung (sic) some Clinton supporters is absolutely horrible." And you lump me together with people who have been here for months. People i have seen for months except zrr and legume. Who is using an alias to hide behind?
Why did you feel the need to say you've been lurking? When was your profile created? Yesterday?
In reference to me you wrote:

Who's vicious and "spitting venom because it's all she has"?? Reread your own post..
And I have never once said I am a Clinton supporter. So wrong again. I did not vote for Sen Clinton, barry or McCain. I am frustrated by the lack of knowledge of barry supporters and the baseless venomous personal attacks on Clinton and Clinton supporters. Barry is a fraud. It's undebatable. I have proven over and over by providing links and countering barry supporters "arguments". Then all you bots started attacking me personally with childish comments so I use your own words. This seems to piss people off. Please give me one link to one of my posts.
I don't know you and you clearly don't know me. Why did you feel the need to lump me with other people? And you've got to be kidding writing about me being vicious with what you wrote up there. Craziness. You are new and I have never said a word to you so why your interest? You would only be interested if you were someone else whose words I have used to debate yourself. Very sad. You want to attack me you should at least wait till i say something to you. The only reason you'd be writing this is if I used your words to prove you wrong...just like now.
Please do not link me to other people. It looks ridiculous. I'll check back for your links to my words to you. We both know they
don't exist.

sorry but you are one mixed up dude. SJpersonal is not me and I am not her. SJ is firmly Obama and I am undecided. Like I said before if you had been around here longer and listened (read) more before you shot off your mouth you would be able to see the differences between SJ and myself. I have only ever posted under my true name Lori W. I am not paid to blog by any candidate and my opinions are only my own. I have nothing to hide so I hide nothing. What you see is what you get. I think the same can be said about SJ but I will let her speak for herself.
ALTER: So what are your thoughts on Clinton being on the ballot? It seems the tide is turning...
I dare you to ask Clift that same question.
ps: We urge anyone at all who has proof or has an example of MSM bias that needs fact-checking to please post it. We will investigate it for you or maybe someone has already and can post their evidence. We have run across so many people who have proof that we were urged to set up a public square. Be patient. It may take a couple of days to get the new blog switched over and organized. We are not exactly blog-savvy, so if someone knows how to transfer posts in chronological order, or according to topics (sexism, racism, Obama's own lies), or individual media (Newsweek, MSNBC, CNN), or *journalists* (Alter, Olbermann, Matthews...) or any other anything--your help will be greatly appreciated. Also, we are looking for folks who know how to splice video clips together. And we haven't had the time (there are examples everywhere) to get to blog evidence (Kos, Huffington, Slate...) so please post away. In the meantime, post here or on the Editor's page.
Pro-Obama media bias exists. No doubt about it. Come and be heard -- once and for all.

I'll be happy to help out with videos as long as you provide the links.
still not up...coming soon? i have plenty on jonjon and it will be and ABSOLUTE PLEASURE to share it with you!
see you there. i'll be happy to research but i have no technical abilities. sorry.
good work, mattie. did you see the poll that Clinton got more negative press during the wright madness? the press club performance--not the inspiring sunday rants. Teflon? It's called MSM deflector. btw, where is wright hiding? makes you wonder--he was all about speaking up and where is he now? just like barry all talk no action. and sharpton spoke out in chicago today instead of jesse. amazing the silence of the black community, especially the politicians in Chicago who couldn't stand him. see you later.
please include that on the article on Bush today that there are 2 ads for Obama, one shows up next to the Post your comment box and previously there was one on 2 of the 4 pages for the actual article. Also on the same article the stupid cartoon character of Bush with crossed eyes that says his IQ is 125 appears as well. Then they want us to believe that they are unbiased toward the candidates?
THANK YOU!! I have plenty of documented barry lies -- print and video. I don't know anything about blogs though. If I give you the link to a video it'll still work right? You better track down KellyB, Alter's favorite fan.
If Hillary Clinton is the top of the ticket i will vote for her, otherwise i will vote for Mcaine, these are tough times and we need to protect ourselves, hillery clinton has the tanasity and the knowhow to get us out of this mess we are in,she is smarter than bill, the world is a chess game and we need her,we dont want another cold war that could turn into the third world war,our national guard is over seas and our armed forces are here at home,a big stick will settel everything down,we just need to apply it and get everyone onboard, hillary makes no bones about it,i hope she is our presedent, she will get the job done quickley and we will be out of the mess we are now in,you cant say please to the restt off the world!
Watch out. You're gonna be labeled "sybil". Anyone who isn't a mesmerized barrybot gets attacked personally because what else can they do but attack the poster and/or barry's opponent. It's really very sad. I didn't vote for Clinton but I have absolutely no doubt she's be able to handle things. barry sent his surrogate out to talk about bush going to China and he said he wanted Congress to weigh in on it (*present*). And with Georgia he said he wanted the UN to weigh in it. Who is going to weigh in on the decision to push the button. Its a very real question with what Russia's up to.
Clinton supporters continue to be very concerned about how inexperienced and unprepared Obama is to be President, irate about the way the media and the DNC intervened to ensure Obama won, and stunned by the way they???ve been responded to (or not) by the Obama camp and his on-line supporters. ???Discussion??? on the blogs over these issues has been heated and intense.
In response to Hillary supporters who believe that she is the still better candidate, Obama supporters have consistently referred to anyone who disagrees with them as racist, stupid, evil, in league with the devil, old, hags, conservative plants, etc. And Obama, too, has been very dismissive of Hillary supporters, doing almost nothing to reach out and try to bring us into the fold. This is arrogance and an enormous mistake on his part. He???s showing the kind of President he will be though the choices he???s already made on these issues; including not offering Hillary the VP spot, when she clearly earned it. As people have been pointed out, this could conceivably cost him the election.
All of this only increases my doubts about Obama. If he doesn???t have the maturity and perspective to see these problems and attend to them, if he???s unable to bring all Democrats together and establish the unity and hope in his own party that he supposedly stands for, if he can???t be bothered reaching out to address the valid concerns of the older women and working class voters who favor Hillary and work to secure our votes, and if he and his handlers are unable to influence and control the way his camp behaves in the public arena toward Hillary supporters, how will he ever manage the critical, mind-boggling responsibilities he???ll face as President, given the damage done these past 8 years?
He has to earn people???s trust and votes and frankly, he needs Hillary voters far more than we need him. Obama has done a very poor job of dealing with all of these problems. This demonstrates what Hillary supporters have been saying all along: he???s not ready to be President and isn???t the right person to get the nomination. There is a growing consensus that Clinton should be the nominee. Given these concerns and Obama???s inexperience, I think Hillary???s name should be placed in nomination and she should get the nomination.
This is one voter who will not be goose stepping in line to vote for him in November. In fact, increased attempts to continue bashing Hillary and manipulate the public will only increase my determination to do what I believe is right. I hope it will also alienate other Hillary supporters and cost Obama millions of votes in November.
Watch out CAROL L NRICHARDS is going to call you Sibyl. Here's a litle bit:

When are they going to learn? Each time they respond it gets more ridiculous.
Celebrity phony leader - created by bootlicking media, who accused Hillary of playing Gender card is crying foul playing Race card. The no sense guy who accused Hillary of Flip Flopping after over a period of observations Hillary changed her position on Iraq (when 9/11 panic mode idrained away from all leaders) is shamelessly flipping and flopping to glory every minute on every issue he touches; shame on Barack.. Is Barack man enough to apologize to Hillary ? before asking Hillary supporters votes???. & by the way he is no match for the partriotic McCain. I am one Democrat who will vote for Mccain for sure..
Obama has nothing to apologize for.
non of you get it. barry is responsible for extending the olive branch, which includes an apology to Mr and Sen Clinton. it was barry would should have made the first move -- instead he waited six weeks and still hasn't come out publicly to embrace Mr Clinton. you young voters enamored with a man you know nothing about have no clue the deep wounds barry's behavior has had on long-time, proven voters. and attitudes like yours is the reason why they remain angry. a mesmerized person cannot see the light and cannot see past their trance, how much did you know about edwards?
You are a very hateful little person. What is wrong does no one love you. All you do slither around these boards spewing your venon at people. You madame are a waste of air and space.

Why do you care who legume is? btw it's not me. If you reread your own words you can see that they are venomous and reread legumes they are not. Why can't you see what you are doing? Stop already. It's embarrassing. Continuing on just gives me more of your venom to quote back to you and really what's the point?.
Mr. Obama. We are all watching how you handle this Medussa. If you cannnot defend youself against her....we will conclude that you cannot protect and defend US. Right now, it is hard to believe that you will allow BOTH Mr. Clinton and Mrs. Clinton to speak at the convention.
Speak for yourself. I do not see the Clintons as an equivalent national security threat!! They may be bitter but they're not our enemies!
How he handles people who mean HIM harm does not tell us how he would handle people who mean US harm?
Actually, no, it doesn't. First of all, the Clintons don't mean him harm. You confuse wanting the nomination with wanting to cause Obama harm. Not the same. For example, in simpler terms, if I want a job, does that mean I explicitly want to harm other candidates? No. Also, how you treat someone who has ill will towards you is (hopefully) different than how you treat the mass public. Say someone says something to offend me...I'm just going to walk away and roll my eyes usually. However, if someone says something to offend a bunch of 3rd graders (which, essentially, is what many Americans are), heck yeah I'm gonna defend them!
Summer4077 I'm not sure how young you are but the Clintons do have a history of harming people. Look back in history to the Clinton administration when people who crossed the Clintons often turned up dead due to gun shot wounds, plane and car "accidents", falls from balconies and suicide. Bill treats women like sex objects- if you are a woman you would realize there is harm in that. Look at how he treats his wife-cheats on her an lies to the entire nation about it. Is that not harmful? I could go on but you can look up the history yourself. The Clintons lie cheat and steal to get what they want without regard to others.
more lovely comments. and obama isn't your candidate? then what's the point of your postings?
To keep the Clintons away from the White House. To listen to intelligent people who post here to see if I can gleen information to help me decide who to vote for in November. To brighten my day with the humorous things that appear from time to time. That's all folks....
loriw: "Clintons away from the White House."

What information are you gleaning other than adolescent gossip and hate?
Youre probably the reason why they're going after me. I agree the personal attacks are predictable and they need a whole team to attack. Have you noticed they never come back when you provide the info they wanted. That's what p&sses me off the most. It shows they just want to attack for attack sake. But you'd think they wouldve learned something by now. I just use their own words. That really gets them mad but how can they possibly justify it?
To defeat someone politically is not to harm someone? Bill and Hillary would surely not agree.
Have you spoken to them personally or is this, as I suspect, speculation? No, defeating someone politically is not causing them harm. It won't hurt them physically or financially--maybe their pride will be wounded, but that's it. That's like saying a losing sports team should go into therapy b/c of the great harm caused...please.
Please go back and read posts by this person so that you know who you are dealing with. He is only here to keep discord going.
and you?
Go back to watching the Simpsons.
Bill was a national security threat while in office! Let's see the nation was distracted by his sexual antics that occurred in the Oval Office while he was supposed to be conducting national business. While we were all distracted with him not having sexual relations the terrorists were already plotting 9/11. And that's not all, good ol' Bill showed up to international summits trashed drunk and conducted more national business. And we wonder how we got into such a national security mess?
The nation was distracted because the "Moral superior" Republicans were trying to prosecuted Clinton for the very same thing that some of them were doing.
raddave -
I disagree with the comment which you have stated.
The nation wasn???t distracted by the efforts of Republicans to prosecute Clinton.
It was distracted by a morally corrupt president who had:
- misused his power of authority by engaging in extra-marital sexual relationships with an intern.
- lying to a judicial investigation by officially stating that he ???did not have sex with that woman.???
- disrespecting the Oval Office by conducting his sexual escapades there (which justified it to be referred to as the ???Oral Office.???
Also, I disagree with your derogatory slight terminology - ???the Moral superior??? Republicans.
Republicans do profess that morals should provide a framework for all people to live their lives.
Occasionally some of them do display convenient disregard for those espoused principles.
Those transgressions do deserve reproach.
But Democrats rarely bother to acknowledge that their conduct does or should be guided by any form or morality.
And when their illicit sexual (mis)conduct is exposed, they usually deny it.
Eventually they apologize - either for the fact that they were caught, or the fact that they had violated a principle which God and some segment of society hold to be true. Rarely do they make a distinction!
Notice - whenever a democrat is caught engaging in unsavory (mis)conduct, the other partisan politicians, party supporters, and mainstream media regularly try to dismiss the offence as merely a common occurrence in society - nothing more.
Just for a factual exercise, take the time to research the number of Republican and Democrat politicians who have been exposed for sexual misconduct in the past 10 years.
You might care to start with Bill Clinton, John Edwards, Eliot Spitzer, David Paterson, Gavin Newsom, and then add the other numerous city mayors and state governors to that tally.
Is marital infidelity just a ???right of passage??? for a democrat politician?
You weren't even old enough to remember the Clinton presidency. The Nation was at peace, the Economy, job and housing markets were thriving and there was a budget surplus. And Mr Clinton left office with the highest approval (65%) rating since WWII.
A word of advice? Please stop. It isn't reflecting too well.
and you say you don't say foul things?
Your logic and argument skills are left to be desired, sorry I won't even comment on your remarks.
To take a different direction:
Mr. Alter's comments on Keith Olbermann's show last night in regards to Randy Scheunemann:
"So, you know, this really stinks, this whole deal of him, because you don???t know who he???s representing. Is he representing the interest of Georgia or the interest of the United States?"
So, at long last the Left has decided to openly question the patriotism of Republicans. To quote Mary Beth Cahill, the Democrats are now "Fair Game."
Thanks Mr. Alter.
I am bothered, in the first place, by the promises being made by both men. I am bewildered that both men are making legislative promises.
???When I am president,??? each man says, ???I will ...??? Now correct me if I am wrong, that I might have missed something while I was busy getting old, but when I studied government in school, I think I remember that there were three branches of government: executive, legislative and judicial. For the purpose of this essay only, the judicial branch of government will be overlooked.
In an over-simplification of job descriptions, the president and cabinet are the executive part of the branch trio. The president should keep himself busy conferring with the cabinet and agencies, being commander in chief, setting policy, giving state dinners, making nice with other countries, declaring states of emergency, signing or vetoing legislation, etc. The legislative part of the trio (the representatives and senators) has as its job initiating legislation as needed for the good of the country and their constituents, serving on investigative committees, etc.
Now we get to my contention. Both Senator McCain and Senator Obama are expounding on what they will do as president while continuing to speak like legislators. What they are promising to do in the future as the executive is what they should be proposing now in their current positions as legislators.
Come on now, fellas, if you believe so strongly in what changes need to be made for the good of the country???s problems with the economy, the oil crisis, education and health care, why have you not been back in Washington rallying support in the Senate and writing bills which would begin the miraculous cures now that you are promising for the future? Both you senators remind me of poker players with your cards clutched to your chests. Both of you are bluffing that you have a straight flush, ace high, while holding nothing more than a pair of jacks.
Unfortunately, the other people sitting at the table are about to be taken. Their names are Americans and Voters. Come on now, fellas, if you plan to play this game, show us your cards. Lay them on the table. Show us how you plan to win the game. Show us a workable plan for the cures you are promising. If these plans are so good, why haven???t you been busy in the Senate doing what you are paid to do for the country? Why are you holding back? Is it all a bluff?
Up to this point in the election process, the only thing that has been shown to the voters is age and charisma, experience and inexperience, war hero and academic scholar, pedigree and boot strap climber. Show us some substance. As the commander in chief, how, I repeat, how will you act as leader to make your promises reality? I need to know before I vote; otherwise I will continue to be bothered and bewildered, but certainly not bewitched.
Plans for Clinton convention rallies intensify
The Hill By Bob Cusack 08/10/2008
Frustrated supporters of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (N.Y.) are planning multiple rallies at the Democratic convention in Denver, coupled with television and print advertisements.
The disenchanted Democrats want to express their disappointment with the party???s presidential primary process.
The Denver Group, formed a couple of months ago by two Clinton backers, says it has filmed a television commercial and is looking to air it soon. The fledgling group adds that it has received such a strong response to its scheduled Aug. 26 reception in Denver that it had to book an overflow room.
Meanwhile, another pro-Clinton group called ???18 Million Voices??? is organizing a march on Aug. 26 in Denver ???and nationwide to support Sen. Clinton and advocate for women???s rights worldwide.??? It will also be holding ???a celebration in a beautiful Denver City park during the day, and throughout the evening on Aug. 26,??? according to the 18 Million Voices website.
Sen. Barack Obama???s (D-Ill.) campaign has been in contact with Clinton aides to come up with a plan that will unify the party as well as honor Clinton and the roughly 18 million people who voted for her during the presidential primary.
But any compromise is unlikely to satisfy Clinton???s most ardent backers.
For example, some of the Denver Group???s goals are contrary to the Democratic Party???s.
Its goals include: an open convention; Clinton's name placed in nomination with no symbolic roll call vote; speeches allowed by supporters of Clinton on behalf of her candidacy; a genuine roll call vote with Clinton as a legitimate candidate; and ???no coronation.???
Asked about Clinton last week, Obama said, ???As is true in all conventions, we???re still working out the mechanics, the coordination.??? When pressed if he would favor a roll call for Clinton, Obama responded, ???I didn???t say that.???
There's an astounding article on TheCityEdition.com (politics and culture, the Donna Brazile article). From 04 on, Donna Brazile worked with Karl Rove to develop the strategy and the Republican connections to make Obama's push for the presidential nomination happen. I can see what Donna and Obama had to gain from this unholy alliance, but another concern is what has Karl Rove and RNC gained? Also see the Editorial: Since when does the American media get to force feed us our presidents? on the same site (The CityEdiction.com)
We can help make democracy work again by faxing or emailing the committee chair Daniel Inouye, John McCain, Barbara Boxer and other senators on the committee and ask them to conduct an investigation and hearings with the presidents of ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, CNN, and FOX, as well as the publishers of Newsweek and Time, among others, about the way in which they sabotaged this election through the overwhelming media support and bias shown on behalf of Obama and against Hillary Clinton.
Alter, what would you write about if you couldn't bash Senator Clinton and Propagandize for Obama? MSM wasn't hard enough on Bush about Iraq. The MSM got scooped by the Enquirer about Edwards. What will be said about your decided bias in favor of Obama? What will be said when Obama's secrets are finally released? You know they are there.
"The best outcome for Democrats would be for a President Obama to send Bill Clinton to the Middle East next year as his special envoy."
The best outcome for Democrats woutld be for a President Obama to send Bill Clinton to Mars.
Bill is poison, has been for some time, and getting worse. I could almost live with Hilary if it wasn't for Bill, and would have voted for her instead of Obama if she had divorced Bill years ago.
As it is now, she is just continuing to make a mess of her reputation - she gains nothing by allowing the democratic party to stay in a state of turmoil.
Hilary? Honey? I'm very sorry, but you lost.
NOW GET OVER IT!!!
very well said C. MacLean! Send Bill to Mars! Hillary would have had a lot more respect from women if she had divorced him. Bill is cheating pond scum. To me she is the poster child for dysfunctional marriage and co-dependence. She hoped to get votes from the Friends of Bill but I think it just didn't work for her. That and the sniper fire. Liars, both of them. Send Hillary to Venus too.
Loriw:
"Hillary would have had a lot more respect from women if she had divorced him. Bill is cheating pond scum. To me she is the poster child for dysfunctional marriage and co-dependence."
And your respect of yourself?
Lori -
Welcome back from your holidays!
I hope they were enjoyable, and that you managed to stay clear of the poison ivy.
It will be interesting to see whether any reputable polling firm would bother to survey a representative sample of 1000 Democrats to determine the party approval rating for both Hillary and Bill Clinton, individually.
What will be their legacy?
Hey Davole,
Loved vacation in the UP. Didn't get to Canada this year tho. Didn't go much beyond the "resort" as we were able to take the grandbaby with us :) Mommy stayed at home to get ready for daddy coming home for leave from Iraq. Yep, I'm back with at vengence since the Clintons are back in the news.
Lori -
It's ironic - the 2 gals who I respect the most on this Newsweek website are in opposing camps.
Maybe it'll require a Conservative who supports the Republican party to "keep the peace in Dodge City!
Am I being foolhearty in this regard?
Hopefully you've got your flack jacket on, for some of those grenades hurled at you seem to be coming fast and furious.
I do appreciate the passion which both of you display in your comments.
It is my humble foreign opinion that both the Republican and Democrat parties will need to have their own respective party reformations after the election.
But, and maybe I am daring to swim into deep and turbulent water here, I am concerned that George Soros and moveon.orgy have stated that they have bought and own the democrat party.
It would be a real shame for the President and Congress to be controlled by that nefarious entity in the background.
Glad that you are back!
So Davole who are the 2 gals you admire most?
I ain't afraid of those grenade chucking bloggers...I'm one tough old geezer gal.
Davole: As a woman I am continually mystified as to how so many intelligent women can be blind on this issue:
Whining about "sexism rampant in the media" is exactly the kind of ammunition unenlightened people use to continue to discredit women. It just reinforces the stereotype of us as creatures ruled by emotion who can't remain rational. Were there inappropriate comments made during her campaign? Yes, but so what. Life isn't fair, stop making believe that it is. Ignorant people will always say ignorant things. Rise above it.
A woman's strength comes from her own knowlege about who she is and where her personal power truly lies, not from external approval from men or her children. Women who are truly strong within themselves, like Golda Meir, like Margaret Thatcher, pay no attention to the unenlightened squawking of weak-minded men - why did Hilary? Why do we?
Hilary was a victim of nothing. She took her best shot and she lost, not because she was uppity, not because the males of the party found her threatening, not because the male media was misogynist, but because she is deeply and badly flawed. She got where she is because of who she married. Yes, she worked her tail off once she got there (the senate) but if she wasn't Mrs. William Clinton, she couldn't have been elected Dog Catcher of Hope, Arkansas, regardless of her background as an attorney.
As a number of people in this post have noted, Bill Clinton is an untreated addict, and Hilary Clinton is an untreated co-dependent. I could not vote for her primarily because she cannot separate herself from the flawed individual she married. I would have had more respect for her if she had divorced him years ago, although as a mother, I totally understand why she didn't.
If Obama loses in November, then he loses. But if you truly think Hilary would have won except for the misogynist party bosses and sexist male media, you are living in a dream world. The American electorate as a whole would not have chosen her - she has too many of the same character defects as Bush - the misguided loyalty, the arrogance, and the badly codependent feelings of inadequacy that force them both to continually try and prove to the world they are really good little children. Yes, she's much smarter than Bush (who isn't!) and her political ideology is more liberal, but they are both dangerous loose cannons.
If we as a gender are going to take our place in the national spotlight we need to do it from a place of strength, not weakness. I, for one, am damn grateful that our first female presiden won't be Hilary Clinton.
We can do so much better.
Hillary not Hilary
You must be joking. I'm sure Sen Clinton would rather the misspelling than the foul words you use in reference to her. Who are you helping? Do you realize what you are revealing of yourself? And I see people every day pointing this out to you and yet you persist. Why? What are you achieving? Will your granddaughter be proud of the words you use in here?
C. MacLean: I agree with you 1000%. Had (The Clintons) they won the primary they would have expected Obama to move out the way graciously, and support them unconditionally; as done by a large majority of the candidates running against McGeritol (Cain). Clintons talking about her people need to be heard; well for her people information, (news flash) she doesn't give a horse patooty about any of them, only what they can do to further her gains! Before she began running, I sure she wasn't concerned about any of them. Case in point, when she was lobbying for Billy's NAFTA policy. Do you think she gave a damn about the people of PA or OH? Heck (Hell) no!!!
No, they thought because of name, they were entitled to the nomination???Hell I???m a Clinton, and due to my husband???s presidency the job should be mines. Well the voters thought otherwise. It appears when people feel the heat; they resort to any ole tactics to get what they want. Hillary should be voted out of the Senate by the Respectable people of New York and move on to life as a private citizen. Governor, Hell no; she???ll probably attempt to ruin, and bring shame on that too.

1000% agreement is impossible!
Try for a maximum of 100% - that might be more realistic!
do you realize how clueless you sound? is this a old post from the Primaries? Because you are on another planet if you believe that Obama would have been treated like Senator Clinton. the world would be ok if the DNC took delegates from the black candidate and gave them to his supposedly racist opponent whose name was not even on the ballot in that state? and things would be just peachy for him if the racist lady had only 130 more delegates, claimed the nomination and told him repeatedly to get out of the race? and he would sit idly by while the racist lady didn't allow his name on the ballot?

Obama's problem is that he won a race that was too close. If he was that good it would have been a landslide in his favor. Since it was not he has to deal with the effects of it.
"we"?
C. MacLean, you have capsuled my heartfelt opinion of the magnificence of women in our society. They are precisely the way that you describe them as these old eyes have come to see. The condition of being owned as chattels in older times, and the later condition of being totally dependent on males for their sustenance created an oftentimes necessity for them to act as inferiors.
However, in my lifetime I have seen them emerge from this ridiculous cocoon, starting with full employment in large numbers in World War II, and going forward from there into full fledged independence. The barriers have fallen before them by the thousands and they have taken the opportunities well to establish their equality among all who dwell here. There is no stopping them now. They have earned these honors and it is unworthy of this magnificence to hark back to the old symptoms of ownership and total dependence by feigning to be the victims of old.
I just appreciate the hell out of what you have printed here.
Right- just look at the composition of Congress. It's 51% women just like the population. We've come so far. Why it's so magnificentfying it's cocoonacious! I think it's real neat too- that emerging! I loved when the slaves emerged from their chains and stopped acting "out of necessity" as inferiors. Kudos to them. There's no stopping these women now. Well, unless a boysclub media and a swaggering "audacious"
tongue-tied male team up against them. They'll speak for him (he can't), and he'll run and block. Deal! Then women can go be "full fledged" in the corner! Oh yeah, let me mention WW2 for cred.

Well, it is well known that some people just can't stand success. Keep trying pumapurr.
Just Nothing!
Wow. Me too. This is a pretty good lunch today.
Could call it nourishment of a sort.
Right... "as a woman". Got it. You're a woman who is also of the female gender and a mother who is a woman and also female and definitely not a man at all. (Being a woman and all.)
Coincidentally, charging "whining" when rampant blatant misogyny is pointed out is exactly the kind of ammunition unenlightened whining male posers use to discredit the discrediting of women. If you need help with that, perhaps you could get someone smarter, say Bush, to explain it to you.
Peekaboo Barky! PUMAs are coming for you.
Beautiful.
Great post! I totally agree 1000%. Had Obama lost they (the Clintons) would have expected him to move on graceously, and not make a stink. But since she lost, they have remained bitter and angry. The Clintons have prove to be just what they are, an entity of Scumbags. It appears, when some people don't get what they want, or feel that is due to them based on name (the voters spoke), they really prove just who they are; similarly, she wants to wreck his chances of getting elected. Her best best is to lose the Senate seat and go off and chill with Bill. These people feel they are the only ones to who speak for the Dem. Party; however, they are mearly a small part of it. The Voters are the party.
I like the Greek Drama label. Hillary missed her calling. She would have made the best soap opera star in history. The word she used for her convention farewell, "catharsis" , has to help to confirm this, since the heart of its meaning is to permit millions of her supporters to engage in "the process of releasing, and thereby providing relief from, strong or repressed emotions". She just can't turn them loose and wants to keep owning those votes until they are torn from her cold dead hands. If that ain't soap, then what is? The trouble with this soap is that it doesn't wash the dirt from the damage that it will do to the democratic party's chances of victory in November.
How lovely and intelligent. Thank you. Have you ever spoken to Sen Clinton? "cold dead hands" Extremely lovely and mature.
