The ‘Process’ President

Very insightful piece by Eleanor Clift. It is always the best to have a leader who is inclined to look at various angles of an issue and make decisions based on reasoned judgment than to have one that glorifies ignorance, is unwilling to learn and who sees his/her primary role as catering for the interests of the rich and powerful.

Twelve acres for every adult American, suggestion for John McCain to help follow through on his promise to increase offshore drilling, help the American people and create an immediate economic stimulus to the American economy.

Democrats under the leadership of Barack Obama want to effectively give away in trust our offshore exclusive economic zone by standing in the way of any current offshore development. Under the 1982 United Nations Law of the Seas Convention the US has an exclusive economic zone of 200 nautical miles and mineral seabed rights up to 350 nautical miles extending along the Continental shelf. A nautical mile is 6080 feet so our exclusive economic zone extends about 240 miles and mineral seabed rights extend 420 miles. The US has the world's largest offshore exclusive economic zone totaling 4.4 million square miles. In comparison, the total land area of the United States is only 3.4 million square miles.

On the East coast alone, if you drive from Key West Florida to Bangor Maine it is 2000 miles. Multiply the 2000 miles by mineral seabed rights extending out 420 miles results in a total of 840,000 square miles of ocean acreage. Because we have the world's largest offshore coastline which is twenty-five percent greater than our land area, it only makes common sense that we exploit our offshore resources to achieve our energy independence.

The best way to effectively exploit our offshore resources and really help the average American is to divide up the 4.4 million square miles of US offshore economic zone among the 218 million Americans adults who are 18 years and older according to the 2003 US census. Because a square mile equals 640 acres and you multiply 4.4 million square miles times 640 acres, there would be 2.816 billion offshore acres to be divided among the 218 million American adults. The current federally leased acreage of roughly 100 million acres both onshore and offshore represents roughly only three and a half percent of the total 2.8 billion offshore exclusive economic zone acreage of land that could be leased and divided up by all Americans. Subtract out that acreage and you still have 2.7 billion unleased acreage. Granted this remaining acreage may not be the best prospects but we won???t know for sure until there is actual drilling. The Democrats say that there is 80 million acres leased and the oil companies are sitting on it. Well here are 2.7 billion new acres that new and older drilling companies can bid on.

Obama is a potential process President who does not cater to his base? If that were the case why has Barack Obama not abandoned and thrown his environmental and Mercedes Benz limousine liberal allies under the bus in order to truly help the average American fill their gas tank. Obama and the Democrats want to kill the United States auto industry just like they have killed the United States nuclear industry and United States owned oil industry and ship building industry in the past. Despite leading the world with having built the first civilian commercial reactor in Shippensport Pennsylvania, there has not been a single new nuclear power plant built in the United States in the last thirty years. Now, France generates eighty percent of its electricity from nuclear energy while the United States on generates twenty percent of its electricity from nuclear energy. Obama wants to study the nuclear waste disposal issue for another thirty years. It is no accident that the largest US builder of nuclear power plants, Westinghouse Nuclear Power Construction Division was bought out by Toshiba Corporation of Japan. Significantly, nuclear power is not considered a mainstay of Democratic plans to address our energy crisis.There is also a worldwide shortage and backlog of orders for oil drilling platforms and oil drilling ships but US shipyards are not building these ships. Only one percent of the world's commercial ships are built in US shipyards. Hold your breath for the Democratic outcry and push for government help to US ship builders to build oil drilling ships in the US. Democratic disdain for energy production by US companies is evident with the current ownership of former US energy companies. Is it any surprise that the American jewell Arco Oil Company which owned 80 percent of our Alaska Oil Reserves was bought out by British Petroleum Corporation at the end of the second administration of Bill Clinton due to the hostile Democratic attitude toward American owned energy companies. The centerpiece of the energy proposals of Obama is increased fuel efficiency. Obama knows that American auto companies are at a disadvantage compared to Japan to bring online more fuel efficient automobiles. Obama knows that his proposals will cost more United States auto jobs in Detroit due to the loss of business to Japanese auto manufacturers. Obama and the Democrats are clearly catering to their base in trying to kill the United States auto industry just as they have killed the United States Nuclear Power industry and United States owned oil industry.

Enough said . . . Obama is very, very far from cerebral.

Obama was unable to interpret the New Yorker cover a few weeks ago and now his media toadies are trying to us he is too cerebral. They may as well say Geo. W's is too cerebral because of his similarities to Hemingway!

Too cerebral? This is the white-racist man that pulls the race card on everyone else with every political challenge against his credibility and empty rhetoric.

Too cerebral? Only Eleanor Clift, a fervent Obama admirer, could believe that Obama is too cerebral, however, she lost her political analysis credibility months ago with her fervent defense of Obama on all issues with the McLaughlin Group panel and with her written articles.

Clift refuses to view Obama with any clarity of political analysis.

President Clinton presided over the longest period of peace-time economic expansion in American history, which included a balanced budget and a reported federal surplus. Based on Congressional accounting rules, at the end of his presidency Clinton reported a surplus of $559 billion.

It is really amazing that some in our country prefers the unintelligent to the cerebral. After 8 years of international embarassment caused by a president who thinks all words end with an s, and can't string a complete sentence together, we want to pick yet another dummy who has graduated 5th from the bottom of his class.
Only in America can someone be ridiculed for intellectual achievement. I guess that is one of the perks of freedom, but is also give us a government that is filled with the mentally challenged. It's no wonder our children are ill prepared to compete in the world, why should they try to excel if mockery is the reward. A presidential candidate with John McCain's and GWB's intellectual ability should not even by considered for a local city council. I pray that we wake up this time.

Let's assume a person is hungry, wants to eat but has no money. He walks into a grocery store and steals food and then consumes it.

Right or wrong?

With Democrat LOGIC, haha this is ok.

Why?

Because that's EXACTLY what they want to do with giving out FREE Health Care. They want to tax the successful people in this country, the top 10% already pay 2/3 of the taxes already and give FREE health care to everybody. This is the biggest disaster waiting to happen in this country's history.

They will not be able to control costs, it will skyrocket but like all programs in the US once its in place there is no getting rid of it and it will cripple our economy. Millions, I'm thinking 2.5 to 5 million more jobs will be lost but could be as high as 10 million over the next 8 to 10 years.

Doom and Gloom? Yes. Likely to happen? ABSOLUTELY!

We can NOT afford to have Obama and tax and spend liberals in congress and government. Impeach Pelosi the worst speaker of the house in this country's history!
