Collision Course

For some reason, the West calls Georgia an 'ally'. In fact, Russia has been more of an ally, though it has no troops in Iraq. Russia has been providing facilities for the one war on terror that truly matters - in Afghanistan. Russia has been bankrolling the US for some time, paying for its Iraq campaign. Russia has been helping with North Korean nukes. In exchange, Russian citizens are killed with US-made weapons.

Bush could have stopped this madnees with a single phone call to Tbilisi. As it is, no 'civilized' Western nation has condemned the mass murder of 1500 Russian citizens. The silence is deafening ... and damning.

Today the President of South Ossetia announced that the number of victims of Georgian invasion increases every hour. He said that more than 2000 peaceful citizens are killed by Georgian troops in Tshenvalli and neighbor villages. Several South Ossetia villages are wiped off the map of Northern Caucasus! The Government of South Ossetia sais that there may be alive people under ruins! But Georgian sharp-shooters don???t pass ambulances and humanitarian colomns to invaded districts! I saw in local TV channel Ossetian ambulances with the tracks of bullets. In interviews Ossetian doctors said that they were shooted by Georgian soldiers, when they tried to enter ruined villages and Tshenvalli. The hospital in Tshenvalli is destroyed by Georgian bombs. Wounded people are dieing in the cellar of the hospital without light and fresh water!
I think, there is no excuse for such a country leader, who order to kill women and children! M. Saakashvilli and his Masters in the USA, who provide the Georgian President with money and weapon for this terrible war, are in one position with such international terrorists as Ben Laden!
Who will be next? Abkhazia? Stop international terrorists and liars! Stop genocide!

My friends in Finland and England called me and asked about the situation in the Northern Caucasus. They told me that their TV channels said that ???Russia invaded Georgia???, but they didn???t believe it. I also heard that famous American channel ???CNN??? told the same. It???s a nonsense! There are no any American or English reporters in the territory of South Ossetia or near. There are no reporters at all, but Russian and Georgian ones (I can see it on TV,- during interviews there were only Russian and Georgian microphones in the frame).
It???s a pity, that ???CNN??? collect rumours and unchecked information! It is disgusting!
I think, this invasion is a real genocide against Ossetian people, aimed to destroying the whole nation! Ossetian people are tired of Georgian aggression. There are thousands of refugees in the south of Russia! They tells terrible things!

It is amazing to see how a Columbia-educated Georgian could have been duped into believing that his unrealistic venture into South Ossetia could be successful merely on the strength of lip service support from the West. Saakashvili has just given Moscow a chance at vengeance it has been looking for. It would be surprising if, given this chance, Russia would reduce Georgia to nothing short of a whimpering spoilt brat crying out for daddy's help (in Washington or Brussels).

My colleagues were in the capital of South Ossetia - Tshenvalli. Whey were going to live Osetiya next day. But they couldn???t do it???
August, 7th. It was night. About midnight my colleagues and the whole city Tshenvalli was awaken by the sounds of explosions. People were in panic. They even couldn???t take their passports and money. They had time only to take their children. Frightened people tried to hide themselves in cellars of their houses. The whole morning and day the citizens of Tshenvalli were forced to stay in cellars without food, fresh water and light. Children were crying, asking for food and water. They heard only the sounds of explosions and shooting above. In several hours when the silence came , my colleagues decided to live their shelter. When they opened the door, they saw terrible picture. There were nothing in the street, but ruins. They saw dead people, - men, women and even children! There was one old woman, she was squashed (!) by Georgian tank. My colleagues managed to call their relatives and friends and told them about Georgian invasion into peaceful country, South Ossetia, and about killed peaceful citizens. They couldn???t tell more because a shot rang out. They had to come back in the cellar.

Georgia made a horrendous mistake. The Russians were waiting for this oppurtunity, and since Putin is still a communist at heart, he will seek to destroy Georgia's will to defect to the West. Putin cannot be trusted, and oil is his most potent weapon.

"CNN" sais, "Russia attack Georgia". Open your eyes, Georgian troops play their parts, it's a real theatre! Russia didn't toutch Georgia. Just consider:
Osetia side: 30000 refugees, Capital destroyed, 1000 peaceful citizens dead in FIRST day of conflict! now more than 2000 dead!
Russia: 2 jets, 15 peacekeepers are dead!
And what Georgia? They are all alive and helthy. Do you know about any refugees from Georgia? Of course, you don't! There aren't any. And now think, who is THE GREAT LIER? I think, Saakashvilli should be judjed for his political crimes by Gaaga's Court! He's not better than Den Laden! STOP INTERNATIONAL TERRORISM!

Do we allow Georgia to annihilate the South Ossetians, because our oil companies have major ownership in the BTC pipeline- located in Georgia? Are the European countries interested in peace in Georgia, or the flow of the oil from the BTC pipeline? Is oil more important than the lives of the 70,000 Ossetian residents in South Ossetia, who revolted and won their independence in 1992? Does not South Ossetia have the right to THEIR SOVEREIGNTY?

When Putin says the greatest tragedy of the 20th Century was the break-up of the Soviet Union, then that tells much about the reason behind Russia's intentions. When George Bush says he looked into the eyes of Putin and saw a good man, he stupidly gave credence to him. When Bush invades a sovereign nation under false accusations, then he doesn't have any moral authority to tell Russia to back-off, even if Georgia is entitled to defend its sovereignty. I can very well imagine the response from Russia if the situation was reversed.
