Dear FrancescoB
You are the typical Berlusconi voter. No arguments, just general statements. Thanks to you that have demonstrated that :)
Dear FrancescoB
You are the typical Berlusconi voter. No arguments, just general statements. Thanks to you that have demonstrated that :)
To anyone of Newsweek???s readers and everyone else on U.S.:
Please, I'd want you to consider that NOT all of italian people are Berlusconi's voters, NOT all of italians are trash-TV hypnotized idiot jackasses. A bit less of 50% of italian people (especially with higher level of education) agree on claiming that Mr.Berlusconi is a real liar and opportunist, an amateur - and mainly populist - politician, an awkward joketellers, an enriched briber, a mass-media bucaneer who controls 95% of italian TVs, 95% of advertising market, and something like 550 (of 950) italian parlament members (mostly his own actual lawyers/managers, asslicking yesmen, hired journalists, his former TV stars and - unbelievable but TRUE - his former lovers!). Good luck Italy.
do you think the other Italian politicians are different from him? Maybe they have not been so lucky as Berlusca in finding good circumstances otherwise they would behave like him and would not care about Italy
It's really sad.
There are people who will never recognize a good action merely because it comes from Berlusconi, criticized as such on this blog. (Of course, reaction would be similar had the same good action come from former prime minister Prodi of the left party.)
Dear countrymen, I hope that one day you will realize that the problem is not Berlusconi and/or his media ownership, but us. The real problem is the way in which we act and moreover how we think. Today we remain exactly like our ancestors of the middle ages: divided, suspicious. An example of this? A condominium resident wants to place a flower garden in his small patch of what is now a yard full of rocks and weeds, along with a fence to guard against against stray cats, dogs, etc.,
A neighbour will think about his fellow resident in this way and sequence:
1. He is not using the right fence, the right flowers
2. Surely he is doing this because wants to build a swimming pool the following year and invite 1000 people.
3. He probably will even have the nerve to charge an entntrance fee! Then, he will be wealthier than me
me???I can't stand it!
4. I'll go to the police and build a neighbour action team against him. If that doesn't work I'll start saying that his wife is a pornostar and that he is a pedophile.
This is funny and at the same time quite sad. Any one of us would destroy our neighbor's garden in this way...any one. The flower garden too risky and much work for too little satisfaction. So who will plant the flower garden?
In Italy there are tons of pseudo journalists who try to became notorious. One of them is Marco Travaglio, who, with his amusing stories attempts to connect fact to supposition especially with regard to Berlusconi and other politicians from the right. And the very same thing happens regularly in "il Giornale," the newspaper with right party tendencies.
These people don't provide an accurate picture of situations or try to help Italians comprehend their problems, but instead play with and capitalise on the Italians' medievel and conspiratorial mindset in order to gain money, became famous, or conjure breaking news that's actually fake for whatever reason.
These people give fuel to the fire of this reductive manner of thinking, that is all too Italian. So in the end there is too much smoke in the air and this smoke covers everything???the good as well as the bad. Who gains from this?
It's really sad.
There is a limit beyond which the silence is what in italian is called "omertà". If you analyze facts that are happening in italy, you'd better begin to speak. You're exemple's swimming pool has just been built.
"When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.
When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.
When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.
When they came for the Jews,
I remained silent;
I wasn't a Jew.
When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out."
Martin Niemöller
Dear micky74,
I think you are the picture of the typical Italian that I was writing of. You and I must say the 99% of the people that comment this article.
Thanks for the reply.
:)
Reading about the Olympics, I cannot help but notice that all Italian winners of medals are from the North. No medalist is from the South. How "strange"... Berluska is the quintessential representative of that north that thinks Southerners are dirty, don't wanna do work, are only able to complain... thanks CIA and American government. The Olympics are clearly a racist game. Federalism now. I don't wanna be ruled by Northern Italians. Southern Italy back with Spain please.
I totally agree with "maur111"!!! (08/14/2008 4:55:53 AM). Please don't think all Italians are so stupid and unable to realize that Mr. Berlusconi is a liar, enriched briber and so on.. He is totally unfit to solve the Italian problems (first of all, pervasive corruption)!!!!
Dear Francesco B
Frist of all. Marco Travaglio is a journalist and he is reporting facts. You would like to point out which are the funny facts he is reporting. Maybe they are funny for you, but for me they are demonstrating that Berlusconi was guilty in few charges and can not be judged in others. In other countries the prime minister will resign if only suspected.
So what is the good things about Berlusconi first period? Do you feel safer because the military intervention? Italy is like Uganda now, we have Carabinieri, Polizia, Guardia di Finanza and the military forces on the street, nice! Let's say they have to use the force. If a policeman shoot and usually get a lot of problems when killing or just injuring a thief or whatever, let's think about what can happen to a soldier which is not trained and has no knowledge at all of law and civil code (they are made for other purposes in fact)
About Napoli. They simply changed the law making legal that which before was illegal. So now in Campania they can burn toxic substances that are not allowed to burn in any other country. We will see the increase in cancer rate in 20 years time. Anyway the situation will take three more years to be solved (Berlusconi said).
What about economy? Are people getting a bigger salary? Do not think so. They did not touch the problem of temporary workers (on the contrary they are going to fix the legals problems of the companies that hired "temporary workers" in the illegal way). What about Alitalia? They were against Alitalia acquisition by Air France with 2000 workers without a job anymore . And now? They gave Alitalia 300 millions euro to bring Alitalia until october.......and then? They said the Alitalia workers going to loose the jobs are about 5000. Nice job!
Anyway Berlusconi keeps his Rete 4 on the terrestrial TV against an European Law. That costs a lot to Italians......but luckily they do not know.....they are too busy to watch suspicious the ROM population!
Enjoy!

Histoire de Mr. SB: Part III
The control of the media: after ~20 years of brain-storming, the Italians are reduced to amoebas level.
Over 90% of the whole media sector, TVs, publishing, radios are controlled directly or indirectly by his group, and the Italian citizen, thanks to their incapability to read foreign news papers, to speak other languages, to culturally be prepare to use all the modern tools available to double check an information, are completely excluded from the truth and the goverrnment can say all the lies wants, because only a minority of the citizens is able to verify what it is said.
This media control is what make possible to convince the Italians that there is a plot from toghe rosse against Mr.SB, or even worse, to invite to talk shows, news and etc... Mr. Giulio Andreotti, and present him as a great statesman and expert.
Pity that he was never acquit, but found guilty of supporting mafia in all our level of justice (dibattimento, appello, cassazione). But he was PRESCRITTO, and now he dares to run free saying he was innocent!!!
Do not forget that Mr. SB does not own his TVs legally, but only thanks to his P2 connections, his friend Craxi and the Mammi law made during Craxi government (that saved him from jail during the 80s), and the several temporary legislative decrees issued by Mr.SB Government 2001-2006, till the impossible Gasparri law. And this against the European Court of Justice that sentenced the Italian Gov to pay retroactively ~300000,00 Euro per day (starting from 01/01/06) because of this illegal situation (trial Europa7-Rete4).
I have all the documentation made public of all trials: if you need additional info, contact me privately.
Histoire de Mr. SB: Part II
Now the question most of you use to justify the plot against Mr.SB: why with all these evidence he is still running free?
One example: when the first investigation team, lead by Cap. Massimo Maria Berruti [Fiamme Gialle], in the Autumn 1979, visited some of Mr.SB firms, he found nothing relevant.
Nice is to know that after some time Mr. Massimo Maria Berruti left the Fiamme Gialle to become a top manager at Fininvest.
This is to let you understand how and why. His way is smooth and direct: were the trials ready to face the evidence about his illegal transactions from the Banks abroad? He made the Parliament to issue a law against the 'rogatorie' (these kind of documents).
Were the investigators pushing him in a corner with no chances? He invented another low to give the possibility to the prosecutor to change the entire Court because of supposed conflict of interests. [with a new Court trial has to start again from scratch].
One of his associated was caught guilty during some kind of illegal transactions? [bribery, corruption, pay off, etc...] He changed the penal code to make those crimes legal [consider that, while all over the world the west countries gave to the investigators more power to prosecute all type of financial crimes (expecially after the Enron scandal in USA), in Italy his government decriminalize all of them, shrinked the budget, the tools, the power of all authorities depute to fight those crimes].
Or when he managed to sospend all the trials for the time he was prime minister.
And all these escamotages were only to delay trials, because in the new penal code approved by his government, amongst dozen of so many naif rules, there is one to grant, nearly for any crime, what are called 'le attenuanti generiche'!
What for?
With 'Attenuanti Generiche' you have a great reduction in what is called 'prescrizione', the time lenght of which, was also reduced to half.
Prescrizione is the time length, starting from the date of the realization of the crime, after which, no matter what are the result of the investigations and the evidence, the accused can't be prosecuted.
Do you understand why in Italy all the trials are so long? No matter what you have done and the evidence, you can run free if you manage to reach the prescrizione! (for many crimes is between 3 and 6 years)!
You should read all the sentences from the trials involving Mr.SB to understand that he was rarely declared innocent.
And last, what is the key for this crime factory to be up, running and governing a country?
Histoire de Mr. SB: Part I
The bank were Mr SB's father (Luigi) worked as an employer, Banca Rasini in Milano, [famous for the American and Italian trials on money laundering from south american narcos] had as customers people like Robertino Enea, Joe Monti, Antonio Virgilio... I am talking of the gotha of mafia of those years.
After a volontary exile in Switzerland during the war, Luigi came back in Milano and to become rapidly one of the top manager of the bank.
The connections of the bank with the mafia for money laundering is well known and developed in the several trials against the mafia [from the Sindona statetements to the DIA ones in the MaxiProcesso by Falcone].
Mr.SB started his activities in the construction field, materializing from vacuum billion of Italian Lira.
He developed his empire so that it was controlled by ~32 holdings (entitled to house wifes, retired, mechanics, invalid, etc... Those holdings were managed initially by two trust companies, SAF and Parmafid (1978).
In Italy only a Spa needs the government approval (and balance check) for an increase of the share capital, not an S.r.l.
The trials unveiled the methods use to launder: one of the trust company receive from the owner (or its juridical equivalent figure) of one the trusted s.r.l, the notification of a share capital increase.
This transaction could legally happend in cash (because of the trust rule between the two).
The Trust company change cash in bank drafts and with them subscribe the share capital increase.
The laundering happened providing cash of unknown origin (without being subject to any control by the authorities) and receiving back clean money
[check investigations on transaction: Foscale-Dal Santo-SAF-Coriasco srl-Cariplo & Popolare di Novara-Coriasco srl.]
It is too long and full of evidence to describe Mr.SB career, no space to write it all. If you are really honest and available to understand, Internet is still full of official documents made available after the conclusion of the dozen trials that affected and are affecting that person.
For Mauro3000....can you not write in English? You would enable the whole world to see how brainwashed are many Italians....
sorry i do not see miracles in italy!
sorry i do not see miracles in italy!
Berlusconi is not the first person to " put Italy's house in order". Benito Mussolini did a pretty
good, and very similar, job in the 1930s.
eheheheh .... brianandrew ... u r really fun! .. I agree
The only problem here is even if someone do his job in Italy (maybe just the 20%) the italians say:
1- is not well done
2- is not enough
3-there must be a reason why he did that and for sure is for his own interest
Both left and right are playing the same game but not for the interest of the country. Just to create an incomprensible polemic atmosphere that produces smoke...the smoke under wich all the politicians can manage their own business...the smoke under wich even the good things are covered. The reason? Is better to cover the enemy success then to say "good job!". Both: left party and right party. There are a lot of ways to do this. Marco Travaglio a fake journalist is one of them for the left party. The newspaper "il Giornale" is the same but for the right.
The results?
-Italy considered like the worste country in UE (a lot of UE countries are happy for that and contribute to this criticism on international newspaper)
-Italians considered like liar, not organized, funny pizza, mandolino and turism
Good Job Italians! Yes to all of you that continue even on this blog to spit on our country! Gooooood Job! :)
Guess what... recently I've started spitting on the Italian flag. This country only deserves to sink in the ocean of excrements where it already finds itself.
I agree francesco .. u are right
Thanks for your elegant remark. As usual, your tongue ever turns on the aching tooth. Sorry for the disgusting flavor.
Sorry, not taking moral lessons from you... go teach the wind...
It was a matter of flavor, not of moral.
