With 50/50 and close custody decisions and choices working all over the country it is completely unacceptable for a child to lose a parent replacing with a weekend babysitter. Divorce is a choice of 2 adults that no child should lose a parent over. Whether walking to see a parent one bedroom over or 1 town over that burden is the parents to pay, not parent.

Great article just need to add in the solution now great kids are coming from 50/50 homes and FL passed the 1st 50/50 statewide law debunking the spin kids prefer to lose a parent to having 2 rooms, 2 tv's, 2 playstations and double the love.

I don't owe a penny in child support. I am not violent nor abusive. My son loves me and wants to see me. My rights are routinely trampled by his mother. The courts do nothing to help, mostly they just make things worse. I have not seen him in over two years.

    He was abducted.

There was no outcry, no headlines, no bulletins, no interviews. They just disappeared one day. Nobody cared, nobody helps without my paying them. Why? She's a custodial mother.

I would probably make an adequate poster boy, but it would only hurt my case to become one. Almost everyone involved views complaints from a non-custodial father as a character flaw. Thus they stay quiet until they've got nothing to lose. By that time it's too late and the only way to get attention for your already lost cause is to get into serious trouble. The huge majority, obviously, don't do this.
It has long puzzled me that when a father asks for "visitation" that the courts don't look askance at the mother. If there is no evidence to indicate that he should be kept from the children, which is the case most of the time, then the clear evidence is that there is something wrong with the mother.
