Obama's comment about not looking like the guys on our currency was in direct reference to this attack ad by McCain, in which Obama's face is superimposed on the dollar bill (from the official McCain campaign Youtube channel):

Obama said nothing about race in referring to this ad; if McCain's campaign is claiming Obama is playing the race card by referring to their ad, aren't they admitting that their ad has racial content, or could be interpreted to have racial content?

Context, twit, context. Sure Obama can correctly make the observation that he is black anytime he wants without any racial overtones. But when he does it in the context of his opponents searching for ways to scare voters about him it is not a simple, bland observation. It is an attempt to characterize his opponents as racists. Maybe they are. But Obama should refrain from hiding behind Clintonian parsing when he employs such rhetoric.

I AM CAUCASIAN BUT AS A JEW, I WAS NOT ALLOWED TO GO TO CERTAIN COLLEGES OR JOIN CERTAIN
CLUBS AND TO BUY INTO CERTAIN ASSOCIATIONS. THEY ADVERTISED RESTRICTED ONLY -CODE FOR
NO JEWS. EVEN AS LATE AS THE 2000 I HAVE SEEN THIS WORD, YET THIS DOESN'T BRING UP ANY PITY, OR DEFENSE FOR OUR CAUSE FROM PEOPLE LIKE YOU. HOW MANY JEWISH PRESIDENTS HAVE
    WE HAD? HOW MANY VICE-PRESIDENTS?

YOUR AGENDA IS ONLY TO ELECT A LIBERAL DEMOCRAT NOT TO BRING UP ISSUES .

The aganda is get an Liberal Democrat in the White House and this article is so weird! It's as if Q. is suggesting Obama is doing poor, tortured McCain a big humanitarian favor.Otherwise, this article has no point !
And it regurgitates affirmative action in typical liberal jumble as The Theory... but ignores the results! Send Ups!

It's tough being a human being on this planet. Those that think they have it so tough have never walked in any shoes other than their own; consequently, they have nothing to compare it to. Oprahma had no tougher of a life than any one else, in spite of journalistic attempts to convince otherwise. If this propaganda is designed to turn me into another flock mentality 'Oprahma lover', it will continue to fail.

"When Senator Obama said that he did not look like the guys on our currency and that his opponents were likely to portray him as Other, he was stating the obvious."

Absolutly, and I would add that nowhere in that speech did Obama mentioned the McCain campaign was responsible for that. He meant however, the many right wing pundits in radio and on the net making that precise point. The "HollyRoller" type who deride Obama tickling every single racial nerve ending in this country, most times with no subtlety at all. Obama is a secret Muslim, oh no wait, he is a radical black Christian, oh no wait, he's really a communist, he wasn't born in this country and a gazillion other accusations that accuse him of the same thing; he's not one of "us". Those are the people Obama was talking about, and I am surprised no one in the media has made that point.
