Barack Obama is the quintessential Monday morning quarterback. He is arrogant enough to state that we should have invaded Afghanistan just as if he knew that immediately after 9/11, which he certainly did not! He voted against the war because he is against war of any of kind. I would expect him to back down from any provocation and just talk, talk, talk. But then, that's what he does.......TALK! These terrorists understand fully our reasons for going to war, even if the liberal left still doesn't. And, by the way, middle America still understands. And the pollsters, and the media just won't get it because we don't talk. But we vote! Yes, we vote! I trust McCain to do SOMETHING if terrorists blow up a couple of buildings tomorrow. Obama would just talk...and talk...and talk.........so boring and impotent!!!

President Bush will go down in history as the President that fought the war on terror and caused a meaningful change for the better, not something a democrat would have ever done. Imagine IF Obama gets elected how bad this great country WILL be. He will cause a major depression and we will get attacked by islamic terrorists again. He is nothing more then a puppet for George Soros and his socialist agenda anyways- he is not qualified to lead this country. Only a total moron would vote for him. I realise that we do have alot of morons in this country, but hopefully the more intelligent ones outnumber them. McCain is our only choice for president.

Bush did the best he could have done. Sure there were mistakes but he did what he needed to do. The very idea that we should have the peace and security to discuss whether Iraq was a good or bad idea is due to his agressvie stand against the extreme islamic terrorists. If Iran is a great threat now (appears all are in agreement including Obama and Mccain and much of the world), just imagine how big of a threat it would be if they were to join forces with Sadam Hussein? Going into Iraq was essentially a strategy to stop a consolidation of power for a movement that has made it their mission to destroy the US. We are more secured today then we were 8 years ago. Now, was it worth the lives of thousands of Iraqies, well, that is for time to tell.

Saddam was a secular leader who did not like Islamic extremists and they did not like him. He drank, smoked, removed most legal restrictions against women (including wearing the habib),. He was a Sunni, when most the extremists (including bin Laden) are Sh'ia. Apparently, you, like your hero McCain, recognize no difference between these two branches of Islam, although they can be as deadly to each other as Catholics and Protestants in Northern Ireland (both "Christians") have been. Saddam was a terror to his own people, but he was no threat to the United States. He probably wanted to be -- but he just did not have the resources to do any damage to us. And to say we are more secure than we were 8 years ago is laughable. I don't know any legitimate foreign policy theorist, advisor, expert, or analyst who would agree with that statement. On the contrary, we are in a deteiorating situation in Afghanistan, the war we supposedly "won" sometime ago -- you know, in that country where Osama bin Laden, the actual instigator of 9/11 is hiding and continuing his work.

Mimi, if Saddam did not want us in Iraq, then why did he invite us by insinuating his country had WMDs and were prepared to use them? He invited, we responded with our RSVP. If he didn't really want in the game, then he shouldn't have strutted around making veiled threats. A lesson in be dam careful when you wave the red flag in front of the bull.

I have never seen so much malarkey by so many people in the whole world. Bush has won the wat in Iraq and is doing so in Afganistan. Both will be democracies in short order. For those who were and are against the war in Iraq I have one comment: I will feel sorry for any one in need of help and you are the only ones there to provide it. Good Sumaritans you are not!

uhhhmmmm ... my point is that "sticking to your guns" is proof of nothing. Why am I not surprised at your answer?

By the way, Hitler was for freedom and Liberty. His definition.

But it was only after the 2006 midterm-election debacle that Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld was fired and a new politico-military strategy was put in place with a commander who understood the need for sweeping change.
    ---------------------
Funny, I thought Rumsfeld resigned in October 2006 and the President didnt accept his resignation then , because he didnt want that action to color or impact the election . (Like the boob , GWB was ! )

Tosk222, I liked what you had to say but not as strongly as you presented it. It doesn't become read when it is so negetively presented. Try holding back and just make a point of single isues with a softer approach. Good thinking I must say, though!

If u all will recall for a moment, just about everyone in this country agreed to invade iraq and overthrow the corrupt government. Now, because this has been "drawn out," people have begun to change their opinions. This is fine for an individual to do, but a true leader does what he thinks is necessary and sticks to it until the end. You may point out Bush's poor approval rating, but do you know congress's? Its less than 20%. Too bad no one talks about that. So DON'T believe everything you hear from the media. Have you been to iraq and seen for yourself how things are? What the people are feeling? Probably not, huh? I have a good friend that has served 3 tours of duty in Iraq and 1 in Afghanistan. He tells me that things are drastically improved from even a year ago, and that the media in completely wrong about pretty much everything that they report on. Remember... If it bleeds, it leads.

    • Posted By: ourantispam @ 08/10/2008 8:09:09 PM

No, there were a significant number of people who could see that an illegal invasion would be a bad idea. Even the Army said it was a bad idea.

Congress has such a poor approval rating because they have not impeached bush.

It takes time to heal even as a President. I commend President Bush for his actions after the 9/11 attack. I know how shocked I was and I had no responsabilatys any where near what the President has. The event of 9/11 has no comparason in modern times. It woke us up to how easy it is to make war with no borders. I was scared and I'm sure you were, too. Imagine if you were the President. Sure, he's expected to lead and find a way towards security but, where do you start. I'm proud to be an American and also of our President.

Since when does the popular media decide what is a success and what is a failure? The public needs to look at the real facts instead of relying on the multi-trillion dollar industry of the liberal media to provide accurate information. It is a self -perpetuating machine that creates anxiety and then promisses to bring relief. Evil is real, and must be dealt with.

  • Posted By: An American Who Is Still an American @ 08/10/2008 5:42:16 PM

As always, the liberal media likes to twist and sway the reality of things to push its own agenda. Tsk, Tsk. I own a small business. I talk to thousands of clients. Most of my clients believe contrary to the media's push. So, I believe what the public (not the media) has to say. George Bush is sticking to his convictions. His decisions in Irag were correct. And, the surge is working (let's not forget that). So . . . go see Batman. See the parallels between Batman and George Bush. You gotta admire those who stick to their convictions and don't sway with public (media) criticism. Rather than bend to society's less educated point-of-view . . .go-with-the-flow. So . . . don't vote for Obama . . . he's the most liberal senator . . . and not a TRUE American. You can't go more left without thinking of socialistic means to ruin the entrepreneurialism of America. What a DOOM'S DAY it would be if he were to be elected . . . and chuckle at your poor judgment!

    • Posted By: ourantispam @ 08/10/2008 8:04:55 PM

That says it all. Batman as guide.

Well, I manage a 185 unit inn and talk to hundreds of people a week, and most of them think Bush is a lying idiot. Not only that, but more than 70% of the country agrees with them.
By the way, Russia just invaded Georgia, a sovereign nation with a democratically elected government, this is a really serious situation, so why is Bush still watching Michael Phelps swim? Even Putin had enough sense to go back home and take care of business. Is it too much to ask for a president that actually does his job?! This is just like Katrina and 9-11, why is he sitting on his ass and not back in his office?!

You right wingers are unfair to the point of stupidity. Say what you want about Bill Clinton but he was a wonk and he'd be on this like white on rice.

So this is the lesson? That the US should embrace multilateralism under the umbrella of international law?

Fareed, I'm disappointed in you. Bush's biggest mistakes have been the erosion of constitutional guarantees, the centralization of power in the hands of the executive, the creation of a police state, and expansionary monetary and fiscal policy. The Iraq fiasco in historical terms is just a blip by comparison. Multilateralism will not restore habeas corpus, protect against search and seizure, and prevent warrantless wiretapping. Diplomacy will repair the balance of power so that we have more than a rubber-stamp congress and a judiciary that guards the constitution. Internationalism will not guarantee that our children will be able to travel freely in this country without being subjected to suspicion and interrogation (and possible detention without trial - Bush's laws allow this). Alignment of the IMF with the "new world order" [your words] will not finance the massive 4 trillion dollars of national debt this country has undertaken under Bush, nor will it tame the unprecedented inflation that is about to come in order to fund it.

So I am afraid that the wool is being pulled over citizens' eyes here. Yes, the Bush administration has become more pragmatist in the area of international affairs, which is a good thing. But the Bush's administration and the Congress - Republican and Democrat have committed heinous treason against their oaths to defend the Constitution against enemies both foreign *and domestic*.

I don't have a problem with living in a multi-cultural, international world. But I cannot stomach living under the tyranny of a "unitary executive". The time is soon coming when we Americans must decide whether we will say with our ancestors "give me liberty or give me death", or whether we would rather just have another beer and watch football. With a press that betrays us like this, I am not optimistic.

My fellowbloggers....Are ya'll following the HOTTEST HUSSEIN QUESTION?????????

The question of Hussein's Certificate Of Live Birth (COLB)........if not you are behind on your Fact Checking. Seems quite a few people have opinions. Look at the results of a Google..................

................Results 1 - 10 of about 482,000 for obama birth certificate........................482,000.........that is a BUNCH of opinions. I know most of ya'll are.....TOO LAZY or TOO SCARED....to look yourself.....so HolyRoller will give a helping hand. Here is a very recent "Israeli Insider" report.....................

Claim: Obama's "birth certificate" forged with sister Maya's original
By Israel Insider staff August 5, 2008

Independent analysts, working separately, claim to have discovered that the original Hawaiian Certificate of Live Birth used in the fabrication of the Barack Obama "birth certificate" belongs to the Presidential candidate's younger half-sister, Maya.

Examining the high resolution image originally posted by the "Daily Kos" left-wing blog and subsequently claimed as authentic by the campaign, and posted in lower resolution on the campaign official "Fight the Smears" website, at least two analysts have been able to independently discern the name "Maya Kassandra Soetoro" from artifacts left behind in the process of forging a new fake document for Barack from an image of Maya's original document. Additional confirmatory information, such as her birthday and the nationality of her father have also been resurrected. A full report documenting all details is to be published in the coming days. Israel Insider has not yet seen proof that would validate the claim.

The dramatic claim comes just a day after a forensic specialist, posting on the Texas Darlin blog under the name Techdude (his real name is known to Israel Insider), announced the discovery of the identity of the original owner of the COLB document used in the forgery but would initially only indicate that it was a woman born in the 1970's. However, he provided enough clues to enable another graphic specialist (screen name KG) to independently reproduce the incriminating evidence. (Techdude had said that he wanted to give the guilty parties time to confess to the forgery, but also to allow independent confirmation of his discovery. He even offered to pay for a trip to Vegas to the first person to discover the name and detail the method by which it was discovered.

Ya'll need to keep your eyes open. Is this why Barry is in Hawaii??? Wonder when the Nation Enquirer is gonna break this???

    NOBAMA!!!

Boy are you people desperate. If you want to talk about not being a native American, technically mcsame is not a naturally born citizen. That is a legal fact.
