Why did someone even bother wasting company time and money on this article? It's not even worth reading past the headline.

We are wasting time and money on this because McCain took campaign money from the Hiltons and then misused their name. The parents want their money back but Paris has had the best response by taken votes away. Paris has entered into and has had an effect on the political landscape like it or not, even though it is a joke. Media and money is no match for us little guys. Quit honestly i want more choices for president!

Paris Hilton is the embodiement of everything that is wrong with America today. That this article would even be written as satire is beyond me. I expext more from a magazine like NEWSWEEK, but "news" is a pretty loose term these days I guess. I won't be buying your magazine again anytime soon.

I think what is wrong with america today is the bush in the white house. Paris comes in 2nd.

imma have to go along with javanut.. ms hilton is meant to sit by the pool and look pretty.. if she can manage that

  • Posted By: pbawkin @ 08/12/2008 9:24:14 AM

She'd probably do a heck of a lot better than that dictator currently living in the white house, however, she is not running people!!! It was only a comeback remark / video to that pompass white haired old man. The government in this country has totally hit bottom - so who really cares anyway. america has lost it - and yes, I didn't capitalize the "a" on america on purpose.

Ms Hilton needs to keep her blonde pomus ass at the poolside eating candy and drinking lemonade. She needs to keep her stupid mouth shut because NO ONE cares about her comments or her storiies. She is a typical rich brat who has no purpose in life except to spend daddy's money!

I agree with Pinkey, Can Newsweek find something better to put in their magazine?

  • Posted By: midwest4u @ 08/12/2008 9:17:36 AM

Websters definition of Paris Hilton... Spoild Rich Brat that is no more than White Trash.

  • Posted By: milkcookie @ 08/12/2008 9:17:30 AM

I for one wouldnt be suprised if Paris could land the Post of President of these United States after all were a society of superficial grab arsses round here anymore . does anyone in these United State have the moxy to lead us into the next 100 years of being the leaders of the free world cause folks were rapidly sinking on the greed infested badgre of shame with our me first and all about me attutiudes look out people. I think what we need is a rigid back bone of structure and leadership out with congress in with thinkers and risk takers . we serously need a visionary by the way Barack isnt it. I think we need Clint Eastwood some realism in this whole thing would be refreshing. Peace

This pompus ass little blonde moron needs to keep her stupid comments to herself and stay at the poolside eating candy and drinking lemonade. She needs to stay out of the media because NO ONE cares about her stupid commercials and comments.

    Typical rich brat!

I cannot believe Newsweek pays this clown to write this heap of garbage. Nice going Newsweek you are becoming a trash sheet more and more with each issue.

    dgcat......It's 35 and a US citizen......Where did you get 45 from?????

  • Posted By: JDCincy @ 08/12/2008 9:08:19 AM

Your magazine has become a gossip rag. No wonder no one buys it. I thought you were supposed to write about the news. This is a good indication of what is wrong with this Country and your magazine. When bubble-headed no-talent celebrities are taken seriously, you know things have gone downhill. I'm glad I didn't buy your rag.

  • Posted By: dgcat @ 08/12/2008 8:44:56 AM

Paris Hilton cannot not run since the President must be at least 45 years old....End of Discussion

I don't even pretend to be " in the know" about politics,... probably just enough to be dangerous...but even I, am embarrassed at the way this country degrades, and shames itself by allowing articles like this to be deemed "top news." Is it any wonder that my generation can't seem to appreciate or value the political system when we are taught to view it as "laughable". For the first time, I am TRULY afraid for the future of America. I have no confidence, nor do I feel safe. This was a wake up call for me.

  • Posted By: lm68127 @ 08/12/2008 9:00:42 AM

Good grief! Honestly people, THIS IS A JOKE. THAT IS ALL. It is meant as a funny satire. On a serious note, I think this country would be better off with someone randomly picking a name out of the phone book. How long has it been that we have had a president OF the people and FOR the people. For all of you who are really that upset about this article....go excercise YOUR first ammendment right....choose not to read it! PS-God Bless America....

  • Posted By: hcronic @ 08/12/2008 8:59:48 AM

Hey Newsweek, I can see you need a new columnist. Where do I apply?

  • Posted By: lm68127 @ 08/12/2008 8:56:18 AM

I think it would be hillarious!!! As a whole I think that randomly picking a name out of the phone book would give us a president of the people and for the people. How long has it been since we have had an average anybody in the White House? So, at this point Paris really couldn't do any harm! BTW, SF5700, LIGHTEN UP!!! It's just a joke. Go picket something!
