There are many assumptions and overwhelming judgements in so many of these comments. Why are we ready to bury a man's future for adultry and yet not be as upset at a leader who took us into a crippling war based on "false" information. Who is the greater wrong doer? I think the comments about Elizabeth Edwards looks are so off-based. She is a beautiful woman, just not a flashy one. Why is it really any of our business?

What a waste of discussion .Edwards and his mistress is and shouldn't be a sourse of news.Issueas as the Russian and Georgia conflict, war in Irak, Iranian and north Korean threats, the economy ,Oil prices , the future of American economy should be given priority against what The Stupid Democratic party tries to present as contenders for the nomination to the presidency ,only to show the icompetent and poor availability of people to be selected for such a Job.

In 1991 I was diagnosed with breast cancer- I was 29 years old. While I was in the hospital recovering from surgery, my then husband was out in the bar and met the woman who he would have an affair with (he told me himself that is where they met. After hospital visiting hours he went out to the bar). After surgery and radiation and all the other horrible treatments cancer paitents endure, this woman would call my house and harass me at all hours. I had the number changed and she still called. I recovered and divirced the bum and of course once I left he begged me to take him back but it was too late....oh, and he dumped her eventually....Women like Rielle Hunter and men like Edwards are despicable and selfish.

Once we all face the truth that the majority of men will and do sleep around with other women the better off we will be. We need to learn to accept the fact that it happens all the time and stop trying to understand why it happens. Those are the facts and you must accept them as they are. .

Look at this statement made by Hunter, "At lunch at the Soho House in late spring of '07, Rielle told me that she and novelist Jay McInerney were working on a "genius" idea for a television show about women who help men get out of failing marriages by having affairs with them" this woman planned to have an affair with Ewards and break up his marriage.

All I can say is that it takesa person with an evil heart to "conspire" and "scheme" against a family to do such harm to them. Hunter's acts were premeditated, no questons about it. I beleive that Elizabeth Edwards detected her for what she really is, a low life, self seeking, selfish hore. Hunter is one "sick" biotch!

I hope that the Edwards and his family can be restored and find peace again. Once the evil is gone they may be able to find restoration.

This woman sounds like a nut. And I see why Edwards went for her. Many men it seems, are attracted to crazy women. A male friend of mine recently confirmed this. According to him "the craizier she is, the hotter the sex"' Unfortunately, while in the throes of all this craziness the men forget about the pain they are causing. Eventually, they tire of the crazy but usually not before it's too late. Usually, by the time they break it off the family is destroyed and the marriage wrecked. All because "crazy chicks" are more excting.

Well, if you were informed at all about this subject, you'd know it all happened BEFORE Elizabeth was diagnosed with the return of her cancer. So the righteous indignation on that part is totally inapporopriate.

He made a mistake. He succumbed to the desires of the flesh. He was enticed and made a wrong choice. It's not up to anyone to condemn this man except for God and his family. Isn't the whole concept of Christianity forgiveness of a person's sins? Seems pretty anti-christian of folks to assume they have the right or the power of condemnation. If I'm right in my thinking, the only human with the right or power to condemn left us some 2000 years ago. If he's made his peace with God and his family, who are any of you to argue otherwise?

No. Ask his wife how she feels? Apparently anything is OK now a days if you are running for President or are President. As a educated liberal relative of mine said. Well it's ok for the President to have affairs but.....well..... I wouldn't want my husband to do it....ugh.. I guess that is hypocracy isn't it? As long as a presiden agrees with my position I guess it doen't matter to me.

This article with the cosmologically insignificant people involved is just another example of our, decadent, ignorant, sensationalist, news seeking Society that tries to make a living out of trashy but non the less attractive to the ignorant and moronic American society in which we live. Instead of significant and human affecting issues such as the conflict in Georgia and Russia, Irak war, North Korea's blackmail and Iran's threat.What a waste of space in the internet or paper in the newsweek magazine. Are we americans so stupid that of all the world affairs we waste time to talk about these issues . The only important fact in this story is the fact that Mr. John Edwards was a contender for the nomination by the Democratic party which only shows that their selection of candidates is bellow mediocricy to say the least.
