Why do we continue to become so obsorbed in someone elses sex life? I can rattle off ten different people who have had extra marital affairs and LIED about it to friends and colleagues not to mention their spouses. Of those none of them were on the nighly "news". Public figure? What goes on between two consenting adults behind closed doors is not public. Do I condone? No, but I am not married to any of them nor am I married to John Edwards. What we have is a blurred line between what is our business and what is NOT. John Edward's extra marital affair in no way has anything to do with politics, Democartic or Republic parties, why the sun raises in the east and sets in the west. Rielle Hunter is an air head. John Edwards has lied repeadely concerning this horrific affair. To be lead away by such a person who has no concept of reality is par for the course. He has lied and denied this child he was caught seeing as recent as last month. What a shame, it just goes to show you can judge a book by its cover. My heart goes out to his sweet wife, who is intelligent, compassionate and self sacrificing. Putting her treatment for Cancer on hold to campaign for him. Too bad. Bur glad his chances to run our country have been squashed. We need men with a conscience, ethics, and strong character to resist temptation.

I don't really care who John Edwards sleeps with. His sex life is not my concern. Or yours. Or America's. His political track record is my concern, and is the only place I will pass judgement. It's ridiculous that politicians feel the need to comment or apologize. His family are the only ones who should have an opinion here....and that, should be private.

I didn't like John Edwards due to his close association with John Kerry. Kerry, being a strong environmentalist, would have been very detrimental to industry. When Edwards ran, one could only assume that he was from the same mold. Therefore, he would not have been good for our country. Had he not been the running mate of Kerry, and stayed away from environmental issues, I think he could have been elected President. At his age, it is likely that he will run again in a future election, and quite possible that he will be elected if he chooses to distance himself from the Loonies of the Left. As for his sex life, that is between
him and his wife.

His true colors have been exposed. His chances for president are squashed, thank God. To leave a wife who is intelligent and compassionate and self sacrificing to have an affair with this bimbo, then lie several times concerning it, he deserves everything that happens to him.

Ahhhh forgiveness! A great concept. but surely forgiveness is not an automatic reflex the very second someone announces their bad behaviour and hangs their head in shame. (Or was it that he knew he was about to be exposed, and was doing some damage control?) Of course we have to judge people - otherwise there would be nobody in jail, Hitler would have continued to destroy civilization, and serial killers would just keep on doing their thing.

Doesn't forgiveness require repentance and reparation? Edwards is only saying he repents because he got caught. Puhleez!

I too was very disappointed and sadddened by the Edwards affair, but he is not my husband so it is really none of my business. I say the media needs to give it a rest so the family can hopefully move forward and do their own healing and forgiving. We are all human, and but "there for the grace of God go I."
