This morning on TV I saw one of the bimbos friends talking about the affair, was upbeat , happy about it all and it made me sick. How anyone can go after a married man and feel it is ok, plus her friend thinks it was love.. come on.. the man is a man, and like my Dad told me long ago.. men don't always think with the right head! Go luck to John and Elizabeth, with women out there like her, they will need help! Sue from Kansas

Anyone willing to cast the first stone, just doesn't know what it's like to live with a spouse with cancer. John Edwards is very human and intimacy between husband and wives becomes nill. Sometimes the marriage is replaced by a different kind of relationship. As real as it is, it is possibly that Elizabeth Edwards distanced herself from John...intimacy stopped....leave the Edward's alone!

Blah, blah, blah... Same old, same old. Anyone that has been 'around the block' can tell there's no new news here. Give it a rest.

I knew I lost respect for Edwards when he decided to continue his campaign even though his wife was very ill with cancer. That showed his self centeredness and priorities. This news of an affair does not surprise me, nor should it surprise the country at all, its become common to disrespect your wife and family in this way. I find it deplorable on both their parts, Rielle and Edwards'. Now to defile his poor wife more with this article is just dreadful. Poor Elizabeth. Men who disfavor their families like this, should be punished, embarassed and stoned right out of Washington. This country needs higher morals.

Is there any way for us to convince you journalists that none of us "real" people out here in the real World give a hoot what Mr. Edwards does with his spare time?

Uhm... where's the rest of the article? I feel like I was just gettin' busy... with no finale. Awful way to conclude the two page, suspenseful, goose chase.

The problem is not about the sex, but that he used his fidelity to his sick wife for political capital and then we find out that he was was a liar and a cheat. If he will do that to the mother of his children and a woman who is terminally ill, It makes me wonder how much I could trust him and his word. Just like Mr. Clinton, it is not a matter of sex, it is a matter of trust and character and telling the truth.

Same holds true for Obama. You can't choose your family but you can choose your friends and Obama has chosen evil people that he and his wife can relate with

You can learn a lot about a person by the people they associate with. I think we all just learned a little about Mr. Edwards.

I love John and Elizabeth Edwards. Period.

I've seen them often and gotten to know them since his first presidential campaign in 2004.

My heart is broken over the news of his affair. I realize he's only human. We all make mistakes. Still, I feel there's more to the story than what he shared on ABC Friday night.

I hope the Good Lord wraps his loving arms around the Edwards family and eases their pain. I feel espcially sad for Cate. She's been through so much in her young life. The smaller children will, hopefully, be more resilient.

May God see fit to set everyone involved on the correct path in life. And let's not forget that poor innocent baby, whoever her father is.

Anyone picturing Glenn Close's character in Fatal Attraction?

Culpability is a 2-way street, which makes Edwards and Ms Hunter on a very level playing field. Countless years ago I met her briefly. She's a nice person, a good person, and I think very much of a social climber. She really knows how to get to the "top" by taking the route she did. But she only carries half of any "blame" that everyone seems hell-bent on laying. When will people grow up?

Actually, she knows how to get to the bottom it sounds like. Edwards is supposed to be so intelligent but he couldn's see through this broad? Gee, I sure hope he becomes President some day. And Dems say G. Dub is stupid!

I'd say she knows how to get to the bottom...if you know what I mean. She sounds like a lunatic to me and how John Edwards couldn't see this makes me wonder about his so-called intelligence.

I think she is a confused deranged prostitute who never made it.

I'm a very conservative person, and not a fan of Edwards for that matter. But, why the hell can't the media just leave him alone and let him work it out on his own. It's no one's business but the people involved, we I know that the entire country is sure not involved with this.

History is full of politicians having affairs! Some even father children, while in office, President Jefferson comes to mind, but that does not make his affect any less important. I hope that he is secure about what has happened and that Elizabeth can die with the dignity she deserves!

I believe we are all just human. The man made a mistake, as we all have at one time or another. As long as he does his job it really is no ones buisness. My gosh The United States is so Backwards when it comes to sex. We are all here to live, and learn. I sure am glad no one follows me around with a camera, and just waits for me to mess up. It really is his personal life. We should all just butt out.
