    The comments the writer has quoted her as saying about Elizabeth should have been left alone. Who cares what this tramp has to say about Elizabeth? The comments are hurtful and meaningless, Why repeat them? Elizabeth Edwards is more of a woman than anyother I have seen. She is fighting for her life with small children to worry about being taken care of if she does pass away before they are grown. John Edwards is sick - watch his interview? Many people can recover from an affair - however, when your wife is battleing terminal cancer - well - you just aren't going to get the female vote anymore.
    As far as McCain - people stop - he was seperated from his first wife - in the middle of a divorce when he started seeing Cindy. That fact has been established over all the major network news even - MSNBC

      Why repeat them? Because it speaks to the character of the "tramp" who would say such things, as well as to that of the man who would continue to associate himself in any way with someone who regarded his wife with such contempt.

      dear friend, better check your facts on the McCain history...the dates on the marriage license...the divorce papers for John and Carol...and maybe read the Nightengales Song...and then speculate on classmates and fellow prisoners non-support of McNasty...............

    The dumbest person portrayed in this story is Jonathan, whose obvious contempt for Ms. Hunter is exceeded only by his lack of self-awareness. Never has a member of the Fourth Estate made a better case against himself than Jon-Boy.

      Jonathan is dumb like a fox. He sensed immediately which shell the nut was hiding under, and he wasted no time turning it over and picking it apart. His story is a window into the inane motivations behind this sad story.

There's plenty of single men out there. Why should single women persue married men? Why can't the married men be faithful to their spouses? "I shall put enmity between you and the woman (God said to Satan as a serpent). You will snap at her heels and she shall crush your head." The world, the flesh and the devil - the three snares. Be on guard!

    An insightful article. It shows how a woman who has no standards or morals can and do go after men who have no interest in them. It's obvious Rielle Hunter was determined to have an affair with John Edwards and could care less about anything else. The fact that he was married, had children or that it could ruin a brilliant career was not at all important to her. This is not to say that Senator Edwards didn't have a part to play and made a terrible error in judgement, however, which one of us, at the right time could say we could not be tempted, especially by someone who is without any moral compass. Nothing to deter them from doing what they want and what they want is someone else's husband. There was a time when going after a married man or woman was not what decent people did. But now, is an age where we celebrate celebreties who have children without a thought of marriage. Our magazines quote a 16 year old unmarried star
    l who states "having a baby is the most wonderful feeling", on their cover.. Why then does it surprise us that a young woman feels no hesitation about initiating an affair with a married wealthy politition. It's time we all realize the country we are living in and stop trying to pretend we are so horrified. Hopefully John Edwards can repair the damage to his marriage and can be of service to his country in the future. We need brilliant, qualified, compassionate human beings to work for a better future for all of us and John Edwards always seemed to be that kink of person. He just happened to be human. As for Reille Hunter, well, her type will always be looking for the next conquest. She's already found Andrew Young, who she claims is the father of her five month old daughter and, of course, is also a married man. Sweet girl.

      She's not nice. And there are loads of women out there just like this one. Manipulative, righteous and immoral. Men have to know they're out there, and be able to figure out which one is which or they'll hear the three words of ultimate pain - I want half. The "what can you do for me" set is worse however. This one is out for infamy I believe, or the tight jeans commercial/book payoff. Still, the question still begs: Why do these powerful politicians screw around with these really ugly women? The other question is: Why can't they keep their pants up?

    Reille is a"new age witch" who seduced John Edwards with her "powers". He is still accountable for his actions. However, she victimized him with malice and forethought. John Edwards failed, like every other human, but he has made amends to his family and to the country. This frightening and humbling experience will only make him stronger and more perceptive of evil people.

      The point is if you're a politician, you have a 75% chance of cheating on your wife. 100% percent if you're wife needs you. Edwards and McCain for instance.

    The only thing more pathetic and distasteful than Edwards' affair with some flaky wanna-be is a Harvard educated award-winning journalist playing her for a fool. Jonathan Darman: Do you really think your deception and exploitation of her is any less repugnant than the woman (and affair) about which you report? You lost your decency and human perspective in this story, apparently to score points with your boss. It reminds me of the bully in school who thinks he's scored a big victory when he beats up the smallest (most vulnerable) kid on the playgound. Your method, tone and approach to this story reflects more about YOU than Rielle Hunter. The only thing I took away from this "story" was: Darman is a predator who continues to gets all jacked up by the attention of a woman he mocks and treats with disdain and disrespect; and is especially ego-satisfied that she continues to show attention despite his ill-treatment. An astute observer might say you are just a sadistic SOB. Honor your education, dude; be a decent journalist, not a story whore!

    In response to some of the comments here: What does this article have to do with Obama? If anything, it reminds us of Clinton, McCain and Gingrich. I didn't even know McCain's current wife was the woman he screwed around on his wife with until this story broke. So I think this story is very good for Obama.

    I think the Edwards family needs to be left alone do deal with this matter. The witchy woman who told of the affair is a whack job. Mr. Edwards is willing to do DNA to prove the child is not his, so why is witchy saying she doesn't want the tests done? It is because she KNOWS he is not the father. A lot of men falter in marriage, but I truly believe Mr. Edwards loves his wife and kids and this needs to be dealt with by them, not the media.

If he is willing to have DNA done, that says a lot. It also is in my mind that this witch targeted him and caught him at a very vulnerable time in his personal life. She is refusing to have DNA done. WHY??? If she is so sure the baby is Mr. Edwards, she should agree to the tests. It is because she KNOWS it is NOT his child that she is refusing. Mr. Edwards can get a court order to clear this matter up,. My thoughts and prayers are with the Edwards family in this time if strife.
