It takes to to tangle. Edawards didn't just dall off the turnip truck. Neither did Rielle. Their actions were selfish and inconsiderate. All people can be tempted to enter into elict liasions. The decision as to whether to engage in one is p to the iondividual. I can and do not respect anyone who has a spouse with a serious health problem refuting their marriage vows. If a person does this, he or she is not trustwirthy to honor and keep any committment. I always felt that Edwards was a slick willie!

Read between the lines, this woman targeted Edwards when he was under great personal and professional stress. Sure it takes two to tango, but it is rather unfair when only one person knows that they are dancing. When did targeting another woman's spouse become part of women's liberation? Perhaps this woman is trying to help, but living in HellLA I've seen many of her type, trying to find a man of power to grab on to and validate herself with. I feel sorry for Elizabeth Edwards, isn't being terminal enough of a burden? To now have to deal with this hurt. John Edwards knew better, but if that woman, Hunter, really cared for people and for her karma, she would not have done such a thing. To go after a married person is wrong, under any circumstances. It was a malignant action, and by her own belief systems, she will pay for it. Is it worth your fifteen minutes of fame to sell your soul, Ms. Hunter? I think not!

what a whack job. she needs psychological help!

  • Posted By: ObamaYesWeCanIsCruel @ 08/11/2008 11:13:19 PM

ObamaYesWeCan: Are you insane? What horrible things to say about someone who has a terminal illness. You don't even know the woman. Don't you think you should have some kind of proof before you start blathering about how horrible she is? You need to get some kind of help - you're sick.

By "whore", I presume you meant Edwards. Right?

  • Posted By: cm4297 @ 08/11/2008 10:44:43 PM

Why is this whore receiving any attention?

  • Posted By: crsheets @ 08/11/2008 10:32:54 PM

What amazes me about this story is instead of telling the American people what kind of person this woman is, sleeping w/ two married men and wrecking their families; you guys give her an interview and let her slam a woman battling cancer....bravo

  • Posted By: jmccri01 @ 08/11/2008 9:33:03 PM

Of course John Edwards would be happy to take a DNA test. He already knew that his mistress's permission would be needed to provide the baby's DNA and he knew that she would refuse as she is receiving large sums of hush money and would not risk losing her livlihood, plus she thinks she is in love with him and would do anything to protect him. What a skank....both of them

Ahe has helped him make history.

ooops ! was the newsweek reporter a ...guy ? I forgot to check the by-line ! I thought it was a woman by the tone.

Anyways----new ager bimbo picking up bad energy from Elizabeth Edwards. wow. How lame is that ?
While on the other hand she thinks John Edwards could be another Gandhi....gee whiz this chick is twisted.

John Edwards is smart enough to know an easy mark and that's about it !!

He is the Breck girl after all.....

    • Posted By: msnbcjunkie08 @ 08/11/2008 9:00:36 PM

Exactly! She justified to herself in her own twisted mind (like a lot of women who knowingly have affairs with married men) that the wife is the one in the wrong. They'll look for any reason to justify their affair and in this nut job's case, Elizabeth has "bad energy". Right. That's why she's beloved by so many in this country. John was like every other egotistical politician, Republican or Democrat, who thinks he can get away with getting a little on the side. They're BOTH to blame and they should BOTH be ashamed for what they're putting Elizabeth and her children through. I hope John stays the hell out of the media. I don't want to see his lying face again nor do I want his indiscretions to interfere with the historic campaign of Barack Obama. If anyone should feel humiliated and be ostracized completely, it's this tramp that gives New Age a bad name and Mr. Perfect Family Man. Let Elizabeth get back to what she does best: speaking about health care. As for the Republicans, they should be very careful about latching on to this story and using it as a weapon in the campaign. The last thing they want is anyone looking too closely at John and Cindy McCain and how they met...

if this article is your pennace, it is accepted. you are absolved of your biased reporting and obamagaga. but regaining trust is anotehr thing. this is the second story i've seen in teh msm in recent days where "reporters" are claining that they tried to get this stoy and that theyre not just obamafied. but this is a time in an election when people need info on all subjects from trustworthy sources. you failed to retain trust and that will more than a few penitential articles to overcome. i hope you change

Well guys, I think I've made my point on this site. It was interesting and fun to debate and argue. But after awhile it seems redundant. You find yourself repeating the same things, and you start lose self respect, going negative or just for laughs instead of really proving your point. You start to learn about society, from both sides, the republican, the democrat, the independant. You hear from smart people, and from dumb people, and from some just plain crazy or negative people, and everything in between. The reason I was interested in these comments was because I felt I brought something new to the table, and wasn't just repeating other people's comments which I've also seen. I've seen people go from honorable and clean, to sloppy and negative, like sharenews for example, he or she was one of the most clean cut arguers on the site, but now she or he has become petty and negative, calling Obama supporters name callers when he or hse calls them name callers in the same comment, or argueing as if he or she contradicted the other person, when in fact, he or she didn???t even read the whole statement in the first place. Sharenews used to separate fact and opinion, and only tell truth, but now sharenew???s fact and opinion have become one as he or she comes up with more and more fabricated lies. I used to respect sharenews in the beggining, but now I???ve lost all respect whatsoever. It was a fun ride. But now I'm starting to see my own dignity slip away, and I don't want to see myself end up so low, just as I???ve seen people like sharenews end up, just angry and frustrated becoming more negative and opinionated as time goes on, to the point where I don???t even know the message I was trying to convey in the first place. So I'm going to leave with some dignity. Maybe you'll hear from me in another four years, who knows. Just have fun commenting, try to keep it clean, and don't get too angry or frustrated, it's just not worth it. (last comment)unless I have something new to say, but besides that (last comment)

name callers should be names, sorry.

Yes, Notrepublican, there are, in this great sea of people, as many viewpoints as there are minds holding them a short while before spilling them out onto the screen before us. Try not to worry about your purity so much. Most of our best work is done while sweating in a dust storm. Just take a long shower and cherish the many memories and the growth that you experienced from the sweat of your efforts. It's fun to jump off the track and make a little humor once in a while, or even to take a negative view to something that might offend you a tad.
This article inspired the thought in me of how things have changed so much in my short lifetime of many years. Here we have a woman who has a seductive line that she uses to seduce men, quickly removing them from the here and now and into the great flexibility of ancient philosophies where extramarital sex is free of entanglements, and into the great universe of intense and guilt free sexual intercourse. This process used to be reserved only for males who practiced the seductive arts on the unwary and inexperienced damsels of our society. We have outgrown the inequality of seduction and now it is a two way street. The saddest part of it all is the crash landing from the flight when it is realized that it was just another line practiced on an unwary victim in a bar, and the guilt returns manyfold to erase the ecstasy of just another fling.

I am reminded of part of a verse of an old song we sang in harmony in my youth, "Irene, Good Night". One of the verses ends with the words, "Go home to your wife and family, and stay by your fireside bright". My sympathies to the Edwards family and all concerned, including all of the principals in this episode who will all eventually return to earth under the unrelenting force of gravity.

  • Posted By: husein's brain @ 08/11/2008 4:28:28 PM

dude, the mainstream media including this guy failed to report the story because of their leftist affiliations and loves. this is the second story i've read by "reporters" caliming they were trying to get the story. i guess this is your left wing pennance. your unwilingness to write about this because of your fear of hurting obama is too obvious regarless of how you try to patch it up. appearances mean everything right now and it looks like you guys are really so far off field in this election that your trustworthiness factor is far below anything we expected. i hope you change

Contrary to the commentary here, the only news about Edwards that could possibly draw my attention is his Bill Clinton zipper problem. Now, I wait with anticipation for some Main Stream Media reporter, (there are few journalists among them) to follow the money, and tell us just who paid the mother of Edward's child to refuse the testing that Edwards has dared volunteer for. How much, and whose money?

  • Posted By: AskPlus @ 08/11/2008 1:06:51 PM

Why is it that Reps defend Mr. McCain's affairs with yes, "the Dem's did it too", then want to harpoon Mr. Edwards? Reps do that a lot. Edwards is not going to be VP or Pres. Right? The adulterer who is running is Mr. McCain. And by the way, it doesn't matter what your political affiliations are. A cheat is a cheat.

Look, people, the simple truth is that Edwards is a relatively young, fit, horny male. We should applaud anyone who still has a strong libido at 55...as opposed to the average fat, unhealthy American of that age. Meanwhile, his wife had cancer. Who wants to have sex with someone who has cancer? And I doubt she was feeling very sexy either during her treatment. So, he has the opportunity to bang an attractive, vivacious woman during those long campaign days. And he goes for it. I'd much rather have a Look, people, sex is important. Sex is therapy, it makes us happier, less cranky. I'd much rather have leaders who are getting some on a regular basis -- with all the mental and physical health benefits from regular coitus -- rather than leaders who are NOT getting any action, and yet are probably distracted by thinking it about all the time. What I object to about Edwards is not that he was shagging this broad, but that he lied and lied. And he's STILL lying, since the child is obviously his.

You have obviously never been married and do not understand what marrigae means in any way, shape or form. Marriage does not mean that when your partner has CANCER you can go shack up with anyone you want to "make yourself feel better." This is one of the most selfish things I have ever seen. Why do men have to be so terrible to their wives? Why can't they just honor their vows and be there for better or worse- without always making themselves a priority? Our leaders always get on their soap boxes about religion and the importance of marriage, but it's very seldom that they follow their own advice.

I hope you never were married and never get married. Along with Edwards, you don't deserve that kind of love.

    • Posted By: loriw @ 08/10/2008 6:58:37 PM

I think you are the only one who thinks about it all the time. I'll bet money you're not married either.
