You have to be a complete idiot to aline yourself with " democratic " regime of Georgia where corruption is on the rise and any opposition are repressed. Not only their goverment wants to remain on US payroll, the entire population want to depend on foreign aid. Mentality of Georgians is very simple: Work less, live better. Having Georgian friend meaning sooner or later your friend will stab you in the back. In fact Georgians and Albanians have lots in common. Why USA chooses the worst of the worst to be their friends?

America is weak today and going to be weaker tomarrow because that is the plan being carried out at the highest levels. Games over folks ------ no last minute conversion to good sense im afraid.

I don't think Saakashvili learned from his mistakes. He strongly believes he can draw the US and NATO into war against Russia. He is not going to stop his recklessness until he sees a war between the US and NATO against RUssia, or he leaves power. He lies a little too much and with ease, always creating trouble.

Saak has neither moral value nor mental clarity to be a President of the country. He's been in numerous sexual scandals, even insisted his ex-girlfriend to do abortion while she was 6 month pregnant because of his wife. Sadly (for the country) again, he is not stable mentally.

What we can do is to provide Georgia with the penstrators supplied by Iran to Shiites in Iraq.

With these and IEDs small teams of Georgans can make the Russians pay for their invasion. These things have killed and maimed most of the american losses in Iraq.

From the pictures the Russians have very poor road intervals. They are sitting ducks for terrorist type attacks.

Creat another Afghanistan for the Russians. The flow of body bags and the maimed will cause the Russian people to sour on Putin very quickly.

I like that idea, lets face it: PUTIN's RUSSIA is enemy of the WEST.

    PUTIN/MEDVEDIEV=STALIN/HITLER

The western corporate propaganda machine is kicking into high gear. Soon the sheeple of the US will forget that this began with Georgia invading and killing civilians and will just be big bad Russia's fault.

the fact there is (still!!!!) "Stalin's plaza" in Gergia says something about georgian "democracy".... NOT! rather hypocritical, if you ask me.

After reading the interview it becomes clear that Saakashvili lost his mind over all the anti-russian rhetoric. As a politician, it was his responsibility to steer the country away from the conflicts. He chose to gamble to risk lives of Georgian soldiers and Ossetian population to satisfy his ambitions. When the gamble failed he started to blame West for the lack of support.

    • Posted By: dinamarshalek @ 08/12/2008 6:04:53 PM

agree with you 100%! Saakashvili's move was rather stupid and arrogant at the same time. His interview was pathetic. U.S. never prmissed him they'd help him in anything like it. so, God only knows what he was thinking about. Enter Your Comment

Correction: ... The Russians would NOW be suffering huges losses...

It is obvious the Russians have not learned much from our problems in Iraq.

  • Posted By: Belker @ 08/12/2008 5:55:51 PM

What the USA failed to do was to train the Georgans to avoid face to face battles against Russian superiority in arms and manpower. If we had the over confident Russians would not be suffering huge losses -- losses too high for Putin and his cronies to hide!

The only recourse the U.S. has to get Russia???s attention. Is to push for NATO in Chechnya this is a very hard thing for Russia to deal with if NATO is in Chechnya then Russia will be at a stalemate to try and recoup losses from the fall of the soviet union also the Chechnya government will have better economics than Russia because they too are sitting on oil and Russia will not try and attack for two very good reasons (1) they are a member of NATO and (2) the Chechnya population is very large compared to the very small Georgia, Chechnya must have a membership in NATO, or the Russians will continue to get stronger until they feel they are again a super power ! I???m starting to feel sorry for our next president whomever that will be! God help us if it is obama because Russia will surely try him!

Comment: p.s. china will not get involved in this even though it is said that russia and china are in bed together! we are china's mistress. (so to speak )without the u.s.! the economy of china will drop if we stop trading with them! and as far as our debt to china it would be very hard to collect if either gets involved with a war that neither the u.s or china are fighting in !

This is not the first time for Russia to display this type of disregard for life or "the rules" dating back all the way to the 1800's with the genocide against the Circassian nation. See for yourslves. http://www.circassianworld.com/circassiangenocide.html

ColumbusRepublican. Tell your boy chickenhawk George W Bush to get going. He needs to put down "My Pet Goat" and respond. By the time he gets over his shock and awe Russia will already have taken over a European democracy. I wish he had your fighting spirit.

    • Posted By: hallidegas @ 08/12/2008 5:30:23 PM

Amen! but judging by your name I think he is YOUR "boy chickenhawk George W Bush". The more appropos thing to have said would have been "Tell MY boy chickenhawk Geroge W Bush"... But you are right, maybe we can spare some of the drama W's created in the middle east so we don't have a bigger problem on our hands.

The Black bear is show ing his teeth. After all Stalin is from Georgia, so they can claim it !!

Is this even a real war? Or is it an outsourced component for a wider narrative? We are being told of thousands of casualties. But, unlike, say, the 2006 Israeli bombardment of Beirut, where we saw falling bombs at their moment of impact and several blocks worth of battered multistory buildings, so far, all that we have been seeing was a pile of rubble here, a disabled tank there, and a burning building at the distance. What accounts for the disparity of war footage between the two conflicts? Was this another (real) phony war?

    • Posted By: ARGOS-PANOPTES @ 08/12/2008 4:13:21 PM

unlike the western powers, the soviets still prefer their wars to be private affairs.. for all practical purposes, be it deniability or credibility
