All of this BS and name calling and emotional garbage trying to justify a position should become obvious as being meaningless rationalizations and literally desperate attempts to qualify a biased opinion when the debates start and the real issues, personality and character of each candidate becomes apparent. Hopefully people will be objective and rational enough to see and understand the truth.

For seventy years the Repig Party condemmed blacks for one reason or another, for instance, they rape, they steal, they are to dumb, they want our women, they have lower IQ's ad infinitem. Now that there is a well spoken , intelligent, truly decent man who happens to be half Blac,k they are doing what Repigs do best and that is to slander , smear, chop to pieces, spread fear and hate. Independants PLEASE take notice of the GOP and vote accordingly. Va, va, va voom Meretsky.

I don't want to get into a RACE issue but the truth is more young black men have done prison time than military service or earned college degree. About 20% of black men born from 1965 to 1969 had served time in prison by the time they reached their early 30's. Less than 3% of white males born in same time period had been in prison.

EVEN IF HALF of these convictions were bogus the resulting number is still 10% which is 3 times more than whites. White people shouldn't NOT vote for Obama because he is black and was raised partially in the Muslim faith. They should NOT vote for him because he is a radical socialist who believes that the hard working and intelligent rich shouldn't have their money any more and wants to STEAL it and give to people who are obviously less intelligent, less hard working, etc, etc. He also wants to eliminate poverty in Africa and has said he will spend a much higher percentage of US tax money on that issue. I say lets help OUR people before we give our hard earned tax money over seas to any country!

The Republicans enacted the US Civil Rights Act..not the dems...
... todays DNC runs Discrimination Campaigns against groups of Americans from a simple Enemies List and you' ve heard it's brutality wrapped in velvet over the 'news" for over 35 years! Maybe you didn't recognize it as hate and the politics-of- division because as cunning discrimination campaigns, they are supposed to fool people!
Maybe you didn't quite catch the tell-tail signs of lies, omissions and all that a discrimination campaign against other Americans is composed of! But the American people have caught on! and more and more every year thanks to the web! A better informed public! And this Americans Suck First Campaign the DNC runs has gone from being waged from Clintons' Oval Office to now causing the US Congress to experience it's worst approval in living memory!
And the DNC still can't abandon their nasty Americans Suck First Campaign. They never thought of a better message in all these years!
Do you remember when police used to be called "pigs!"? What was that all about? And spitting at returning service men from Nam? (Americans Suck First was first openly title "POWER TO THE PEOPLE").
There weren't discrimination campaigns directing this behavior from dark shadowy places? Do you think?

ABSOLUTELY RIGHT ON TARGET. UNFORTUNATELY, TEAM OBAMA MUST STILL FIGHT THIS CAMPAIGN ON TWO FRONTS. THE CLINTONS ARE TRYING TO MAKE SURE THAT OBAMA LOSES IN NOVEMBER SO THAT HILLARY CAN COME BACK IN 2012 AS THE DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE, AND THE REPUBLICANS HAVE RESORTED TO THE KARL ROVE PLAYBOOK FOR WINNING ELECTIONS BY FALSE SMEARS AND RELENTLESS ATTACKS ON SENATOR OBAMA'S CHARACTER.

    • Posted By: NewsWkDickG @ 08/16/2008 4:22:03 PM

I wouldn't worry about Obama's character all that much, at least not with any rational and objective person, as McCain drastically negatively impacts his own character when he first, tries to say that with the classless smears you 'just have to have a sense of humor' and second, when he confirms he condones them by saying he 'won't comment on that'. Wasn't he suppose to be the one that advocated running a campaign on a higher level? Boy did he put that aside quickly.

  • Posted By: bob_hall27 @ 08/16/2008 2:37:44 PM

Well it's obvious why he needs to fight it THE TRUTH HURTS why anyone in America would even want to vote for a communist I don't have a clue

    • Posted By: careerdaytrader @ 08/16/2008 4:21:05 PM

Because there are SOOO MANY LOSER DEMOCRATS who drank and partied too much in high school, didn't go to college, and instead of working harder, getting a second job to get ahead and go back for school they want the EASY WAY OUT by taxing successful and more intelligent Republicans to GIVE THEM FREE HEALTH INSURANCE, $1,000 checks in the mail (can you say bribery!) and I've heard Obams is going to soon be offering FREE BIG SCREEN TV's if you can prove you voted for him!

Democrats who vote for him are ADMITTING defeat in life, they are too pathetic, immoral and basically no better than a thief who breaks into your house in the middle of night.

  • Posted By: MXYZPTLK @ 08/16/2008 4:17:58 PM

I think that many of Obama's supporters began supporting him when they knew nothing about him, and now that they've invested so much of themselves in the "change" he pretended to represent, there is just no turning back for them. No, they will not let information which does not support their image of this man intrude upon their dreams. I blame Obama for this, more than his supporters. He knew he was perpetrating a terrible hoax on the voters of this country from the start. He knew the kinds of ruthless tactics he had used from the beginning to jumpstart his political career. He knew about his dubious associations and how they flew in the face of his calls for "change" and "unification." He knew about the racist theology to which he subscribed for 20 years, and how destructive such ideas are to the progress of race relations in this country. No, I do not place primary blame for our current unfortunate situation on his supporters; I place it squarely on Obama, who has shown an almost criminal lack of concern about the damage his tactics have done not only to the Democratic Party, but more importantly, to relations between the races about which, ironically, he professes to care so much.

Reading this stuff is like reading a table of contents at a cesspool. Everyone seems to love the negatives and rationalizing their value. If people vote based on this crap then we deserve no better than Bush-Cheney.

  • Posted By: pumapurr @ 08/15/2008 3:03:02 PM

Clift writes that doubts about Obama are due to them being "planted by McCain and his surrogates" or because people "don't really know him" or because Obama "hasn't gotten out his message". That's a very patronizing view of the American electorate. I would argue that the doubts are arising because Obama "plants' them himself with his own words and actions, and because people really do know him at this point, and because he has definitely gotten his message out. And we don't particularly care for it, or him.

MSM CORRUPTION. period. remember what they said about not going after bush about Iraq? the MSM may end up being the reason barry loses if he does. it'l be because they didnt bother looking or chose not to believe it or are too mesmerized and believed barry. there are two types of dem. the mesmerixes and the fraud detectors. neither side can believe the other. and that's what's gonna be the problem, btw there are plenty of things out there to call barry on...theyre all over the blogosphere.

      • Posted By: tunecash @ 08/16/2008 7:31:42 AM

McCain is too old and crazy to be President. He lives for war. Anyone locked up for the length of time he was is psychologically damaged. He is a hot-head. He abandoned his wife while she was in the hospital recovering from an accident and had an alduterous affair with a super rich (inherited) adultress. He was totally involved in the Keating Five scandal but managed to worm his way out of it. He wouldn't stand up to Bush when he was being slimed about having black children. If his campaign is any example of the way he would handle domestic and foreign policy, then it will be handled in an incompetent, old fashioned, and stupid way. McCain accused Obama of "acting presidential." McCain is butting his nose in on the Georgia situation as if he were already president. This is a dangerous mistake. Sending mixed messages in times like these can be a disaster. Especially since one of McCains campaign staffers is a lobbyist for Georgia and has received around $800,000. II am amazed at how so many can compare these two candidates and honestly think McCain is the better choice. The truth is, sadly, the racism we pretend is getting better is actually getting worse. Older racist didn't mind admitting they were racist. They lived in racist enclaves where the rest of their cross-eyed, buck toothed, nose picking racist friends lived. These little rat's nests of racism have gone under cover like the cowards they are, but in the Houston, TX area you can't go for very long without hearing, "your not really gonna' vote for that *** are ya?

take a hint from your leader and stop the race crap...especially since you're white and have no clue. besides your words show your own prejudice. where is your justification for voting for barry? all you bots can do is make personal attacks on the posters and/or the opponent. don't you see how this reflects directly back on your above the fray candidate? and in future nasties don't bring up the Georgia situation. McCain is hammering barry. and the new president is going to be dealing with georgia. barry wants to ask the UN what to do. and a final clue not everyone who sees through barry the fraud is a republican or a Clinton supporter. who are you helping in this post? all you're doing is turning more people away from barry. when are you gonna get this?

Well, you are clever, i'll give you that. Could you tell me though, how does repeating the party lines of the GOP almost verbatum make you any less mindless than those you criticize? Here's my real question though, how do you think the man who takes the post of President, which ever it may be, will not raise taxes? No one likes to pay taxes, but the current state of our debt will require taxes to be raised in the next administration, and John McCain knows this too. You can pretend that this Bush policy works, and McCain will continue it, and things will improve for the country by dumb luck alone, but you're only setting yourself up for disappointment. Anyways, good luck with your slander, i hope it goes really well for you.

      • Posted By: thehappyamerican @ 08/16/2008 2:51:46 PM

Democrats pretend Obama will keep us from war and conflict but this false hope isn't the DNC party line...
The DNC Party Line is Americans Suck First and it is an EXPENSIVE domestic policy! One that has caused the approval of the present Congress to fall way below that of President Bush!
It is a very expensive policy ideal!!!
The lynch pin of Americans Suck First is departing after many decades and some of the invisible strings holding it together are coming to light to more Americans! (The National Lawyers Guild!).
And this very expensive public policy ideal is falling away and falling apart! We won't need to be taxed as much to get meaningful service from government, and what is meaningful can be better defined and narrowed down in realistic terms!
There will be a lot less confusion! And less repetition of Americans Suck First ( AMERICANS who are ACHIEVERS, CHRISTIANS, GUN OWNERS, STAY-AT-HOME MOMS, MILITARY EXPERTS, LAW ENFORCEMENT PROFESSIONALS, all of whom have discrimination campaigns waged at them from the left wing and from liberals).
If the lie is AMERICANS SUCK, then of course some villains have to be held up to ridicule and slander!
The good thing is that with no more repetition of the DNC party line , more Americans will be far less hated threw this politics- of- division! Start world peace LOCALY, like an environmentalist complimenting a lady for the very nice fox she is wearing! Or be polite if some American wants to lead a prayer!
        See?

The sheen is finally coming off, now the electorate is looking for real substance, no more rock star mania.
The problem with many undicided votes is both candidates seens so dull and has little to offer with respect to 'bread and butter' issues.
Obama supporters have being antagonizing Hillary supporters to the extreme, this definitely is not good for party unity. And as can be seen from the latest polls Obama needs every single vote possible in order to defeat McCain in November.
Whereas the candidates may feel that by obtaining their party nomination ,it is all now easy sailing, I want to bring them back to realty - the 'game' is now begining.

"tell people his history.." Is she serious? What history? The guy's got 0 experience as a leader of anything.

  • Posted By: DavidCA @ 08/16/2008 2:13:10 AM

In the 2004 campaign, George W. Bush said nothing while his opponent's patriotism was questioned (to his credit, McCain said at the time that the attacks were "dishonest and disgraceful"). By allowing Bush to remain silent, the American public and news media legitimized the demonization of his political opponents.

Where did it lead? If dissenting opinions are labeled unpatriotic, is it any surprise that the hiring practices of the Department of Justice became filled with political litmus tests? By Monica Goodling's geometric logic, if those who disagree with Bush are unpatriotic, how could we trust them enforcing our laws?

"Obama Nation" is a leadership test for John McCain. If he insists on the "no comment" reply he gave on Friday, he's just as bad as Bush in 2004.

    • Posted By: raddave @ 08/16/2008 2:34:24 AM

I am an Obama supporter, but I do not feel that it is McCain's place to denounce this book anymore than it was Bush's place. I feel it was Kerry who failed to properly address the attacks and it made more people think that since Kerry did not refute the claims in the book then they must have been true. Obama cannot and I do not think he will do the same as Kerry.

      • Posted By: DavidCA @ 08/16/2008 2:46:53 AM

Keep the faith, raddave, but that's the classic argument trap of "proving a negative." You can go crazy arguing that the world is round to the flat-earth society.

Even in politics, we should demand of our own candidates a measure of respect for their opponents and we should be entitled to expect the same from the other side.

        • Posted By: raddave @ 08/16/2008 3:11:46 AM

I agree with you, but Corsi is not a supporter of McCain.

          • Posted By: SPORTLOCK09 @ 08/16/2008 1:33:25 PM

SHHHHHH Dont tell people the truth!!!! Then the McCain told him to write a book of lies won't be believed.

  • Posted By: Lee Holmes @ 08/16/2008 1:26:42 PM

interesting. Who needs Corsi when you have BAIPA?[The Born Alive Infants Protection Act.Illinois State Legislature,2003]. Those who are just now figuring out that BAIPA is not a Slavic soft drink, are now discussing why ''pro-choicers' ',feel that even babies delivered post-birth are not worthy of medical protection.
This is a real problem for Obama, since he helped create it. McCain gets nailed by the evangelical wing for his position on abortion, yet we will remind the audience[as helpfully provided by NEWSWEAK ],that he hews to the ROE decision.
Yet where in that USSC decision does it mention anything about removing a healthy first-fetus,then baby, from an equally healthy mother and then killing it OUTSIDE of the womb? And then botching even this? Even the barbaric argument of ''dilation and extraction''[DxX] does not apply here.
It is incredible that Democrats, most forcefully,Obama, while still a state senator, would believe that no protections for life exist OUTSIDE of the womb in an immediate post-birth condition. Hence the eerie quiet eminating from his side while the conservatives temporarily chuck Corsis book, and go on the offensive against Obama in this critical area.
It is due to the fact that history accurately records not only Obamas votes regarding BAIPA,but his own remarks made on the floor of the state legsiature [backing the ACLU,which has cowardly refused to enter into a REAL 'civil liberty'',this being, the right to own lawfully-recognized handguns in the District of Columbia, the very center of the USSC HELLER decision],which blocked a condition that ROE did not allow. This being, the killing of an infant beyond the Third Trimester,in a medical event which did not see danger to the health of the mother or pre-birth fetus in any form, either 'mental'' nor physical. Even liberals, who point to Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clintons support of such a protective bill in the US Senate[where Obama STILL voted ''nay''], now say that ''the conservatives will have a field-day over this one'',as the pro-lifers have indeed, now found Obamas ''smoking gun''. The Catholics which Obama has been trying to woo are now arraying themselves against Obama, most recently,in a devastating piece in yesterdays Catholic News Agency[:Evidence Shows Obama Misrepresents His Opposition To BAIPA'']

    Damned straight.

Really? John McCain has no comment? Why would he? He learned this trick when Bush/Rove used it to destroy him during the 2000 primary. It seemed he condemned it during that campaign; nice to see him coming around to the lowball political tactics of the GOP underbelly. Guess he figured out thats the way to win. Next thing u know he will call Obama a terrorist using a sock puppet, then say the sock puppet doesn't speak for him, but he respects the puppets right to its opinion.

  • Posted By: NewsWkDickG @ 08/16/2008 12:10:13 PM

Bringing up family law suits, Howard Dean calling the Republicans the 'white' party, 'Swiftboat' authors again active, McCain first saying his low class attacks are 'just humorous' and then condoning them by saying 'I'm not going to address that', what happened to the class that both candidates said their campaigns would maintain? One starts it and the other follows. Aren't there enough issues and positions to dwell on or do they simply want all of the garbage to just cloud over what is important? No sense blaming one over the other, lets just give credit to anyone that gets it back on track. They could start by denouncing the classless attacks being done on their behalf. After eight years with Bush it sure would be nice to have a President with some class for a change!

I have the book, and it does not claim that Obama is a Muslim. The Obama camp, with the assistance of his press secretaries (i.e. the mainstream media), are desperately trying to make sure no one reads it. The more Americans find out about the real Obama, the lower his numbers will fall.

Contrary to conventional wisdom I belive the Founding Fathers would be astonished to learn that their well crafted piece of parchment is still at work, but would be sadened by the lack of civility, and damnable lies from the right. Sadly this has now turned into personal violence, Knoxville Unitarian Universalist Church, Arkansas Democratic Party Headquarters. The rage expressed by the far right has reached a level of psychosis that would shock even the most bitter Civil War rivals.

McCain either didnt get the jest of the question he was being asked (as his campaign says) or he thought he did and debunked the quesion as bieng comical in the fashion that it is not credible. Too little information on his blip to run off the mouth with in the press. But that has never stopped them before.

Having not read the book I cannot comment on its content. However, if it has debuted on the New York Times best seller list at #1 then there must be more to the book and its content than a lot of pomp and circumstance, otherwise it's authors could be sued for libel and slander. In the case of Ms Clift I would have to say the opprobrium she has heaped upon the authors in her article must mean that the book hits closer to home than she would like to admit, and the truth does hurt.

WRONG . . . . You are completely incorrect. The No. #1 rating of THE OBAMA NATION was on the Non-fiction list of Bestsellers of the New York Times. And after looking this one up, I also found out that the OTHER book out by another author (The Case About Barack Obama) is rated #5 on the NYTimes list.

I am not denying the book is now number 1/flip flop

Is there no boundries for the hypocrisy of the Obama nation now and days?

Why do you think that the press is now starting to discredit this other authors credence about his book give he has a lot of similar findings through his research (and subsequent sources of info that he provides in his book to prove his facts mentioned in his book).

I am not denying the book is now number 1 on the NYT best seller list. I was disagreing with your statement that the book debuted #1.

The book debuted number nine on the NYT best seller list. It is now number one though.

But yet you hang on every word Obama writes of himself? Couldn't be a twist here and there to make himself look better could it? Noooooooooway he's Obama. He wouldn't lie in his book about himself.....LMAO

What? You obviously are not in the loop about real deal about this book being number 1 on The New York Times Bestseller List or sailing down the river of De Nile. To the point that the NYTs has even ran their own article to prove their bias for Obama to win the White House. Too funny.

OMG, What an excellent assessment in one short post that is all encompassing. You hit that one on the nail. For that, I thank you. - sharenews

My comments to you are the same as to burbank. Have your own mind lady. My gosh your postings have gone from bad to worst ;-). Come on, I have seen your postings over the last six months. Instead of pretending, just come out with I will vote for McCain. You cannot even use the excuse about Hillary being properly taken care of at the convention. You are spewing too much hot air girlfriend...LOL ;-)

You mean to tell me that because a book is number one on a best seller list cannot spew lies? Where is your conventional wisdom and critical thinking hat. If you don't like Obama that is not for me to judge, nor will I . But to think Corsi's book is dogma, because of being on the best seller list leaves me puzzled. Also, who has time to sue for slander? Do you have any idea what is involved, the burdon of proof that it was slanderous, the time, the money to do a lawsuit like that?

This is politics. Perhaps after the election, you may see something like that unfold. I wouldn't hold my breath.

Funny you should mention the best seller list, because earlier this evening I was over at my local Barnes & Noble. After some looking, I managed to find the shelf with Obama Nation. Man, was it ever flying out the door! Actually, it wasn't. Truth is, the sales numbers come with an asterisk. Remember the Jim Wright scandal, where he coerced contributors to buy cartons of his book? It's like that.

I bought the book Obama National on the first day it came out at Barnes and Noble in Chicago, the guy that works at the book store told me they had already sold over 300 books that first day! The book is a big seller!!

I bought Obama Nation but downloaded "Dreams." I don't think Obama needs any more money from that....Its funny that all the people criticizing the book haven't read it. I wonder if they have even read "Dreams" or "Audacity" Or do they just parrot whatever Obama tells them to parrot?

I cannot talk for all of them, but I have read both of Obama's books.

            • Posted By: sharenews @ 08/16/2008 4:53:56 AM

              Why not?

              • Posted By: raddave @ 08/16/2008 6:36:14 AM

I was saying I could not speak for other people, but I have read them

              • Posted By: sharenews @ 08/16/2008 4:55:36 AM

Even one of the books would be nice .
