Senator Obama is deeply concerned about the long term consequences of Clinging to Guns and Bibles Syndrome (CGBS). The prevalence of this devastating disorder appears to be quite high. Its epidemiology (rural America), and course (progressive) are similar to Mad Cows Disease. As part of his universal health care package, President Obama will offer CGBS sufferers free counseling, free consultation with a joint specialist, and a free one month supply of Motrin. Anyone who persists in clining to their guns and Bibles will be referred to a surgeon.

This article also talked about battering readers with the same lies. This is a good example. Thanks Mr. JoseMarti.

Lies? Mr. Obama himself referred to this terrible disorder in a speech to his supporters in California. We can no longer ignore this epidemic.

Yeah, yeah mad cow, bibles, flag pins, birth certificate, terrorist, yeah, yeah. Got it.

Just because you don't like it doesn't mean that it isn't important to a lot of people. Obama hasn't done anything to help quell any fears people might have about him. Look at Obama history...full of questionable people in his life, are they distractions because you don't like to admit that people have a problem with that.

I seriously want to know of all the people decrying the book, have they read it or any part of it? Or do you just parrot what Obama says? I've read the first few chapters and I'm sure it would surprise all the Obamabots, that Corsi's main references are "Dreams" and "Audacity." He quotes from them quite frequently, with whole passages not just snippets...It's designed to make the reader think about what Obama has been telling.

There is an undeniable force that shouldn???t be discounted and should be appreciated.

Hillary Clinton knows her game, and her experience is paying off.

I really do not believe that Senator Obama has anything to worry about as Mr. Corsi, as I understand, has a history of fabrications on behalf the Republican party. Most people with active grey matter, should see this book for what it is. Slimy Trash. I am assuming that many of us on this board watched Larry King. Even the republicans advised the McCain campaign to not use any of the mis-information provided in this book.

Trouble is, there are a (not-so-swift)boatload of voters out there who DON'T apparently have much active grey matter...the 2004 re-selection of Bush the Lesser is proof of that (if the voting hadn't been close, they wouldn't have been able to get away with stealing the election; millions of brain-dead Americans DID vote for Bush the Lesser). We can hope this won't happen again, but to the hordes of semi-literates who voted for more unjustified war, torture, spying on Americans, etc in '04, McBush III can add the number of bigots who just won't vote for a black guy. I HOPE that number is small, but I haven't as much faith in the American electorate as I once did...and even if the bigot population is small, it may still be enough to push McBush III over the top.

        You are unfortunately 100% correct

The author, under the color of freedom of speech, provides fodder for the masses who can't or don't want to discern for themselves. This leads to all sort so innuendo, which grows expotentially and soon all the "belivers" know it's "fact". It's the case of the pidepiper leading the blind. This must be dispelled!!!! or this country will be far worse than we are today--and you didn't think it possible to get any worse.

some of you guys really need to take some chill pills and start sharing some of the stuffs that you are taking. There's a different between telling the truth and fictional character disguised as the truth. This same swift boat tactic employed by the same people who managed to convince the rest of you who voted for Bushy that Earth is still the center of the universe and our world is only 6000 years old only. Go back to school and learn something for Christ sake. You have been conned once to elect the current dummy and you managed to let them conned you the second time? If that's not stupidity and ignorance, I don't know how else to label it. Stop using Christianity to justify your stupidity and ignorance. This is why I hate organized religion. It's corrupt and mostly it only served someone else's personal political agenda rather than God. If you are a God loving people, vote for Obama.

Sadly for us, swift-boating works. Most of the world looks at us and laughs because it works so well. My European friends roll on the ground while witnessing our world-beating stupidity. When you "win-by-best-lie" you deserved to get laughed at. We'll pick another bonehead, then cry when he finishes destroying what Mr. Bush started. It's inevitable. How bloggers tolerate the swift-boat distractions is beyond mind-boggling. My common sense dictates to me that if you're trying to destroy someone else with lies, your hiding bad things about yourself. In the case of Mr. McCain, I think he's hiding his lack of substance. He's going to be 72, he never stays on point, and he berates and embellishes. Those are his good qualities.

The Republicans are doing a masterful job of defining Barack Obama? God i cant wait until the dirt about McCain starts coming out and the GOP starts screaming foul. I think what i mind more than anything else is this assclown who has written these books making millions doing so. I'm not sure he even believes what he writes; i think he may just see the audiences propensity to buy any piece of libelous crap that is produced about Democratic candidates. He is the worst kind of human, the kind that will put the quest for a buck ahead of his countries best intrest. I hope karma brings down some serious hurt on him.

No one should rely on a book about a candidate to influence voting. Americans have more resources available than some countries do. All we need are "people, places and events". Leave the rest to us. Here's a few to get everyone started:

Sidley Austin Law Firm, Arab Action Network, Ali Abunimah, Zulfan Adi, Saul Alinsky, Aiham Alsammarae, Rony Amir, Nadhmi Auchi, Myril Axelrod, David Axelrod, William Ayers, Black Muslims, Black Panther Party, Sekolah Dasar Negeri Besuki, David Brint, Chicago Annenberg Challenge, Cottage View Terrace Development Project,Chicago, Coalition Provisional Authority - Iraq, Stokely Carmichael, Abdelhamid Al Chaib, Noam Chomsky, Joseph Cirincionne, Eldridge Cleaver, James H. Cone, Davis Miner Barnhill & Galland, Frank Marshall Davis, Bernardine Dohrn, Frantz Fanon, Louis Farrakhan, Sam Graham-Felsen, Dwight N. Hopkins, Illinois Senate Bill 2165, Joyce Foundation, Jerry Kellerman, Rashid Khalidi, Mutual Bank of Harvey, Amrish Mahajan, Daniel Mahru, Robert Malley, Merrill "Tony" McPeak, Otis Moss III, Raila Odinga, Father Michael Pfleger, Alderman Toni Preckwinkle, Rezmar Real Estate Company, Antonin "Tony" Rezko, Josh Sugarmann, Woods Fund, Reverend Jeremiah Wright, Malcolm X, Ahmed Yousef

Each of the threads above crosses a single common point. You can follow each thread. You can find the point, and you can decide for yourself.

I remember when I wsa in 3rd grade and my friends would start arguing then fighting. In the end they would accusing the other as being the one who started it. Which seems to justify them continuing it. So McCain started it, therefore Obama can now join in as the victum and relentlessly fight back. Had he turned the other cheek, he would have told the world he was a Christian, but he returned fire. These are political christians - because they both know they need the christian vote to win.

  • Posted By: varacefan @ 08/15/2008 4:35:55 PM

So I assume by saying he is being swiftboated, it must be true. Be careful about a lie when someone is still alive that knows the truth. It could come back to bite you. Dam, sometimes the truth really stinks. You Think!

  • Posted By: josemarti @ 08/15/2008 3:34:08 PM

Ms. Clift you tells us that McCain's master narrative is clear: He is an American hero, strong on defense. That will be his convention theme and how little we know about Obama. You are wrong, as usual. His theme will be.....Stay tuned. How do you like your crow prepared?
