If Jerome Corsi is trying to taint Obama's image about being a drug user, it means absolutely nothing. He admitted himself and moved on. And what different is that from being an drunken alcoholic like Bush or the cocaine issue. Plus Bill smoked or 'inhaled' and still was a good president. The Monica issue is miniscule to how the economy did. I wont be surprised by the many politicians who escape the radar and we are only familiar with the Craig's and Spitzer's.

INDEPENDENTS ,PLEASE TAKE NOTE, If you read the comments, listen a little to Limbaugh, Hannity ete, you will start to get the message. Please analyze the Repig Party and you will understand that their message is always Hate, Fear, and mostly Prejudice. If you have one drop of Black blood, or One drop of asian , or One drop of Oriental, or Native American they will villify you, smear, you, and hang you if they could. Use your Brain when it comes time to Vote. Listen to the hateful slobbering mouths of Hannity, Ann Ghoulter, Limbaugh, Savage , O' Reilly, laura I, and then keep a close ear to the Sheeps Clothing Evangelicals, as they slyly ply their trade. I pray that the Media also wakes up, we do not need another crazy War Monger in the House

Corsi seems like a radical republican mouthpiece partisan creep. The Obama book makes it seem like he is crying wolf, since it seems like he is out to get any democratic nominee. First he went after Kerry, whether you like him or not, was a senator for 20 years and a respected veteran. There are legitimate concerns about Obama, but a book by this partisan hack has about as much credibility as it would if it were written by DIck Cheney and Jack Abramoff. Did Corsi have a Hillary bashing manuscript ready to go in case she were the nominee?

    • Posted By: careerdaytrader @ 08/18/2008 3:17:16 PM

You may be right but there are hundreds of allegations in this book and we all KNOW the likliness of them ALL being wrong is 0%. Obama has many shady areas in his past and based on how they both did Saturday night on CNN's interviews he's going to get blown into pieces in a head to head debate with Mc Cain. I was impressed with Obama UNTIL Mc Cain came out and CLEARLY stated his positions. Obama is a PURE POLITICIAN worrying how to state his opinions and policy without offending ANYBODY. He doesn't really even say what he's for.

No Democrat yet has told me how Obama is going to create 5 million more jobs? Is it by hiring 5 million more Government workers. It wouldn't suprise me. Small businesses have always been the DRIVING force behind job creation and when taxes go UP, JOBS go DOWN. Simple. I really want to hear HOW is is going to do this! Also with the economy slowing, housing and bank blow ups we will lose no matter WHO is elected another 1 to 2 million jobs! This is going to happen and it may be MUCH WORSE. So to hit 5 million more and new jobs he will really need to create 6 to 8 million jobs to erase those lost due to upcoming deep recision!

How do you Obama fans manage to not GRASP this simple economic concept??? Do you think money grows on trees and when you tax and pull money from the RICH TREE it doesn't slow the economy?

      • Posted By: marksgershenson @ 08/18/2008 8:42:27 PM

Your argument about how many things being said Obama is weak. It would be no different if I wrote my book about bloggers, threw 200 facts about bloggers, and my gosh something will bound to stick. The rest I have no comments because like I have said in previous posts, you and every other blogger who have a dogmatic position with an issue, its not worth the time or effort.

      • Posted By: News and Notes @ 08/18/2008 7:42:36 PM

I wasn't defending Obama, but after the swift boat problem, Corsi probably doesn't have much credibility in objectively criticizing any democrat.

      • Posted By: troyola @ 08/18/2008 3:43:42 PM

they were both equally vauge. like the stem cell question when mccain did not answer. he started talking about skin cell research making the debate academic...whatever that means.

    • Posted By: SPORTLOCK09 @ 08/18/2008 3:24:48 PM

He wouldn't have needed too. Referrence any newsweek archive from the primaries. The Obama nation was blogging a bible of BS against Hilary.

      • Posted By: News and Notes @ 08/18/2008 7:47:18 PM

Unfortunately, there is still a considerable amount of Hillary bashing, which makes no sense since Obama is the presumptive nominee. I', saying Corsi doesn't strike me as the best source to get objective criticisms of any democrat

After putting the country in 11 Trillion dollar debt and counting, 2 Billion a week for a Blitzkreig War for Oil, 14 Million illegals, Katrina, Abramoff, Craig, Gonzales, 4.00 gal. gas, milk 4.00 Gal. , the Repigs would still vote for more of the same with McCain. Now , my Friends can you imagine a withered up wild-eyed old war monger with his knarled up finger on the Nuke Button , ready with his Neo-Cons buddies to PUSH IT? Independents, think about it!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • Posted By: News and Notes @ 08/18/2008 8:12:43 PM

Bush policies have been a disaster. Complete incompetence with the executive and delivery of the war. Wants smaller government but a government that spends more and has less responsibility. Makes decisions unilaterally. Flat stock market. Predatory loans. A president in the oil industry and high oil prices. Wants religion in politics, but only his religion. Wants government out of people's iives unless it governs people's bedrooms and utereses. There are plenty of ways to legitimately attack Obama and defend McCain, but attacking Bush does neither

The Georgia conflict has shined a spotlight on McCain's chief foreign policy adviser Randy Scheunemann.

Scheunamann was a major organizer of the campaign to get the U.S to invade Iraq. He was a board member of the Project for a New American Century that circulated the now-famous manifesto signed by key Neo Cons that first called for the Iraq invasion. He was a founder of the Committee for the Liberation of Iraq. More recently he has been a paid lobbyist for a number of foreign governments including Macedonia, Taiwan and, most importantly, the Republic of Georgia.

According to records from the Justice Department's foreign agents registration office, Scheunamann's two-person firm has received $830,000 from Georgia since 2004. Though Scheunamann now claims to have taken a leave of absence from lobbying, his latest contract, with Georgia's National Security Council, was signed as recently as April 17th. According to the Los Angeles Times, McCain spoke by phone with Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili that day and then issued a statement denouncing Russian moves to "undermine Georgian's sovereignty."

The paper also cites lobbying forms filed by Scheunamann's firm Orion indicating that McCain sponsored or co-sponsored four Senate resolutions on behalf of Georgia and other Orion clients: Latvia, Macedonia, Romania and Taiwan.

The poor judgment McCain showed by appointing a man who was serving as a paid foreign agent to be his chief foreign policy adviser is simply breathtaking. It is even more so because of the history of the current conflict.

foreign policy blunders are without question McCain's strong point of consistency

  • Posted By: Driver of wagons @ 08/18/2008 5:01:33 PM

As the situation in Georgia develops it becomes clearer by the day that the McCain supported Bush/Cheney- Iraq policy has severely undercut our diplomatic options as well. Apart from generally poisoning the good will of countries around the world, the McCain supported Bush/Cheney-invasion of Iraq lowered the bar for the rest of the world when it comes to justifying the invasion of one country by another.

It has made it very difficult for the U.S. to take the moral or political high ground against Russia when just six years ago our country invaded and occupied another nation that had not attacked or immediately threatened us -- and didn't have the weapons of mass destruction that were used to argue that they might "potentially" threaten our security.

foreign policy blunders are without question McCain's strong point of consistency

Wanna proof how desperate the Democratic party is and always has been.

Start asking some of these young voters why they are voting Democrat this year. Over 50% say it is because the Democrats believe in legalizing pot. Vote for us, we think non medicinal drug use is cool!!!

    • Posted By: AskPlus @ 08/18/2008 3:58:22 PM

Maybe that's true. There is a better chance it is made-up, and an unqualified bad opinion. I think this is closer to the truth:

God bless the young people too. You did not mention who else is voting for Mr. Obama other than the youth. So, while your complaining about Dems saying there are "bad poeple" voting for Mr. McCain, you feel everyone voting for Mr.Obama is bad. Does that make sense to you? Now the youth too?

The biggest foreign policy blunder in the history of the USA is George Bush's War in Iraq. Which McCain whole heartedly supported.

The biggest foreign policy blunder of John Mccain's political life is the passing of the McCain Bill. How can anybody vote for another obvious administration of secrecy as is evident by McCain's previous work in the service of the US Senate?

Release the sealed records the complete records you know the ones you had sealed when you fought long and hard to seal up with the passing of the McCain Bill Circa 1992 Come on John McCain and lets put this election on a level playing field. let the truth be know for all to see.

Yes, he does, Ms. Cliff but I would add something to this discourse. I am old enough to remember when serious journalists would take these kinds of lies apart and hold the people spreading those lies accountable. Now, mainstream media abandon their journalist responsibilities and expect candidates to have to buy air time, often from the same corporations owned by the same media.

    • Posted By: notroubleatall1963 @ 08/17/2008 11:46:58 PM

I'm constantly AMAZED that our candidates for President have to purchase so much airtime to get exposure to their ideas. Why don't the media companies donate most of the air time??? That wouuld take the problem of campaign corruption away, for the most part. Except for the cheating at the polls, which the Republicans seem to have a penchant for in recent years.

      • Posted By: careerdaytrader @ 08/18/2008 3:45:58 PM

Genius idea LIBERAL. You want to steal from media companies property? You have no problem doing this eh, just like you have no problem with Obama taxing those that are smarter, work harder, and have more money than you. Very pathetic. The media outlets OWN their time, they sell it, its VERY valuable and thus its rediculous to ask them to give it away!

Why don't we give your cars to some of Mc Cain's staffers so they can canvass the area and raise more money for him. Yeah, REDICULOUSLY STUPID IDEA just like yours and just like Obama's plan to tax the hardest working in America more, the Rich!

    • Posted By: Bamaboc @ 08/18/2008 12:58:38 AM

Obama was a disaster in every place he served as a community organizer, look at his neighborhoods in Chicago, according to his own writings: The Crime rate went up, the murder rate went up, drug use went up, the out of wedlock birthrate went up, gang fighting and murders went up, the abortion rate went up, prostitution went up, educational achievements went down, welfare rate went up, this is what he wants to deliver to the rest of the USA.
What a ???success??? story, he and his fellow gangsters want to bring the same achievements to the rest of the USA.

McCain falsely claimed that the war in Iraq was "the first major conflict since 9/11" -- either forgetting about the war in Afghanistan or deeming it not major enough. This is not all that surprising, since McCain's policies on Afghanistan -- the real central front in the war on terror -- have been all over the map. Indeed, McCain first attacked Obama's policy on Afghanistan, then adopted it for himself.

    http://thinkprogress.org/2008/06/19/mccain-bush-gi-bill/

McCain has a long history of paying lip service to supporting America's troops but voting against their interests. His handling of the new GI bill was the latest example of his hypocrisy: he consistently and vocally worked to defeat it, then, once it passed, tried to take credit for it.

Extend your wrongly informed PAIN with your vote for McCain

    Here is the true Obama,

Obama is a Marxist, Jew hater and a foreign policy disaster. He set for 20 years in the pews and listened to reverend Wright and Farrakhan, is a friend of terrorists and wants to help Iran, Hezbollah and Hamas destroy the West and Israel.
Obama is a dangerous and risky combination:
He combines the worst of Presidents Bush AND Carter.

Remember Bush slogan "I am a Uniter not a Divider", a candidate full of hot air, without any history who promises a lot, and once elected delivers a disaster. At least through his actions has frightened the Arab extremists and prevented a repeat of 9/11.

Carter is the worst president that the USA ever had. He brought us an inflation rate of 20% due to his dumb economic policies, he created Iran as we know it today, controlled by the ayatollahs, he made sure that there is no peace between Israel and the Palestinians, he reduced our Military power to zero (we needed President Reagan to reverse Carters stupid icuts and naction), see who are Obama foreign policy advisors most of them are the same failures who served during the Carter administration...

No he needs to allow Hawaii to release his original birth certificate so that the American public can know once for all that he is not an imposter. What is wrong about that. If he claimed that he whent to Pakistan in the 1980's when there was a big war, everybody should be suspicious. Dis his parents created a fake birth certificate for him? I have her of many foreingers mostly from Africa, Mexico, South America for example that have fake birth certificates in order to get a visa in the USA. For example, a 20 year old person may change his or her birth certificates and reduce his or her age to 15 years old so that he or she has a better chance to be sponsor by a family member not as an adult but as a minor. This fake papers can be done for pennies on the dollar. Therefore it is not a mystery that Barack Hussein Obama' s father forge his birth place and anything else from his birth certificate as well as his step father from indonesia to do something fishy. We just want Obama to face us and "TELL THE TRUTH". So therefore, Eleanor, do not suggest that this is only the republican machine at it best. We all know of the little proverb: "there is no smoke without fire". We just do not have the luxury as Americans to allow an imposter in the White House, that is all! I truly think Corsi, the author of "The Obama Nation" raised important questions that we all as American living in a time of "Great Uncertainties" (both economical and political) want to know, but that the leftist media machine which Eleanora is a part of will not ask Obama. We cannot afford an imposter in the time that Russia wants to build a base in Cuba (our backyard). We cannot afford to be the next "Georgia" . So please Eleanora, please do your job! As a journalist, you must be impartial and raise the rigth question without putting only your personal opinion in all of your so called posted articles. No matter how much we may hate George W. Bush, we all know that he loves his country and does everything he does, even sometimes uncalculated that they may be, out of love for his Country. But Eleanora and her leftist friends always confront Bush. Why not confronting Barack Hussein Obama and ask even the tuff questions that we American voters wants to know for the Sake of our beloved country rather than ignoring the red flags above Barack Hussein Obama's head for the sake of your leftist agenda and the hate of George W. Bush.
